Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 354: A Love So Pure
[RANIA]
"I have an idea to light up the room," Dalrae said as she stood up. She had been contemplating a lot in the past week and she knew her warriors.
She was the ultimate Incayon beta and hell be damned, she would find a way to bring back normalcy into their home.
Sure they couldn’t go for their people, but it didn’t mean that they had to give in to the sadness that was lulling them over like it was some long game of thrones.
"Well then what is it?" Kaia asked calmly.
He had learned to be understanding of this team and he knew that they would grow together. Hell, they had taught him what it meant to have people in his corner. He wasn’t alone.
His brother wasn’t alone and more than anything, he had gotten to learn what unconditional love meant. It wasn’t something that he had ever thought possible outside of his bond with his brother, but here they were.
Perhaps things would take a turn for the better, right?
"We could play games," Dalrae suggested before adding, "when Rania and I were feeling low, we would play different games and try to forget about our misfortune. It worked even if it was for a moment, but it did.
"The distraction was enough not to send us on a rampage and take unnecessary lives. We can do that with the Warriors. We are stuck in this state until Rani wakes up, so we might as well make it more interesting."
At her idea, Dalrae looked around the room, seeing the distraught warriors who looked like they would do anything to see the light of their home again.
They had gone through so much and it was just a matter of time before they went on to face the consequences. But then with Rania, there aren’t consequences.
Kim Rania always did what she wanted, when she wanted, and how she wanted. She would never compromise for any reason and that was the one thing that she had taught her warriors. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
However, the past week has not been easy on them.
They had nightmares of their dead warriors. The war had taken a toll on them, seeing as some of the warriors they had to slay had been their friends for the different packs.
The King had fucked up and the whole kingdom had paid the cruelest of prices. There was nothing that would change their minds about that. Perhaps if the King hadn’t been so daring, if he hadn’t been so selfish, and ruled people’s lives just because.
The warriors wouldn’t have had to slay their friends to defend their home. They were la wolves who loved Obren.
Granted, their leaders may have been at odds, but even the Incayon hadn’t been crazy enough to just trigger a war.
Incayon may have been the strongest, and the most powerful pack in the whole kingdom but they had never triggered a war just because they could.
They always cared for lives, and the king had ruined that when he made the awful mistake of not being a good King, there was no telling what would happen and what kind of future was waiting for them all, but one thing was certain.
Home was never going to feel like home for a really really long time.
"That doesn’t sound so bad. But did you not see that it is breakfast time?" Odelia asked and Dalrae just rolled her eyes at the woman. This had to be the craziest thing she had heard since everything Rania had always come up with.
But then Odelia did have a point.
They were at breakfast and the warriors were not even in the mood for breakfast. Those who were eating were probably doing so to replenish their energy in the event that they would be needed to stand up and defend Incayon again.
It was all like some cursed position. But was that really it for them? Was that who they had become and was this how they were going to be leading their lives until the end?
"We never sleep anyway. Any time can be breakfast time. We didn’t even know what to focus on. We’re like lost sheep and animals that pray for the general to come back to us, Odelia.
"We can live a little. Even Rani did live a little in times of chaos," Dalrae said with a light laugh and Han Seong just let out a chuckle.
Of course, this was expected. They had all been together for so long and they knew each other so well.
"Just as long as you don’t get hurt," Chang Wook’s aid and Dalrae looked at him softly as if to reassure him.
However, that was going to take a lot more work, because Dalrae and Rania’s games were always dangerous. They were the kings of games that didn’t have a way out without a few scratches on their bodies.
It was something they would have to get used to, no matter what happened because that was the definition of fin for the sisters. Perhaps that made them the crazy bunch, but at least they had always been true to themselves.
They never tried to wade their way around the impossible without a pan of action.
"That is a promise I cannot make. But I did promise that I will heal faster, thanks to Rania’s bond with me. She always said there would come a time when I would need the sisterly bond and right now could just be it.
"She will heal me. Also, I am the warrior healer’s mate, my love. I could go against nations and my sweet love would always come for me," Dalrae said as he played with Chang Wook’s cheeks like it was nothing to her.
Of course, they had grown closer since they had found out they were mates and they had created their bond in so many ways. They had never denied it, which made it easier for them to come to terms with whatever reality was waiting for them.
"Okay, I have no objections then," Chang Wook said as he looked into his mate’s beautiful eyes. He loved this woman so much and he couldn’t wait for the war to end so they would be able to live normal lives.
Granted, they would always be able to fight but then they all knew that the great war was the only longest war they would fight. After that they would be living like normal people with normal preferences.
"Oh great, thanks for reminding us that our mates are elsewhere," Han Seong said and that caught the attention of everyone.
There hadn’t been a day when Han Seong had mentioned he had a mate and suddenly he was saying this? It would have been easier to dismiss it if he wasn’t who he was, but they had to admit that he had been acting strange in the past few months.
"Mates? Is there something you’re not telling us, oh high warlock of the Valley of the Whites?" Odelia teased and instead of always hiding and avoiding the questions, Han Seong looked at his brother then at their friends, before bursting out into laughter.
He knew that he would have a mate someday but now just wasn’t it.
"You people are so gullible," Han Seong laughed as Dalrae sighed and turned to their warriors.
However, were they right about Han Seong and his mate? Or mates?
