Chapter 370: I Would Never Hate You

[RANIA]

For days, Kim Rania kept her eye on Dalrae.

She knew there was a different storm coming and she knew it was coming for the girl who was happily dancing in the distance. πŸπ—ΏπžπšŽπš πžπš‹π•Ÿπ¨πšŸπžπ•.π•”π• πš–

They had both agreed not to bring their people back from the caves, until they were sure that Incayon was safe and that the world was finally at peace. At least Obren anyway.

Of course, Rania knew that the werewolf Alphas she had released hated her, but she was also certain that they wouldn’t try to do shit against her or her people. They weren’t that stupid, especially with the number of warriors they had lost in Incayon.

"Hey, are you okay?" Dalrae asked when she noticed that Rania was staring at her again.

"Yes, why shouldn’t I be?" Rania asked, before realizing that her voice came out passive-aggressively.

She hadn’t intended for that, and thankfully Dalrae had been closer to her enough to understand when she was not in the right mind. However, even that didn’t push Dalrae away.

"If you’re worried about your bond with Kaia, he can’t do shit to you now, Rani. Besides, the man is head over heels in love with you. Have you seen how he has been interacting with the Warriors in the past few days?

"It’s like he wasn’t to make sure everything is in the right state for when you come and take over. He is making amends Rani," Dalrae said as she sat beside Rania who was currently on the veranda of the pack house.

Incayon was empty and that was understandable because their people were away, but there was a new emptiness that was creeping into Rania’s mind. She was scared of what would happen if she ever lost Dalrae.

Granted, she had promised to find Dalrae’s parents for her, but goddamn, she was scared of what that would mean. She was told her sister wouldn’t want her around again and that was breaking her heart into a thousand pieces.

"Do you think we will ever be okay?" Rania asked and Dalrae stared at her worriedly.

The last time Rania had asked her that, Rania had gone and murdered thousands of people and even warlocks.

She had triggered a war and was waiting for them to come at her. Thankfully, Odelia had been quick to claim the murders and no never knew it was Kim Rania. Not even those who survived her wrath.

"Who did you kill this time? Don’t tell me you took out Daehyun after saving his life," Dalrae said with a chuckle. She knew the situation was tense, but she was also aware that Rania needed someone who could make it make sense there.

Otherwise, she would be overthinking everything annoying that ever happened to them. Life hadn’t exactly been rosy but then that didn’t mean that they would try to pretend for their entire lives right?

"What if you find out that your parents are our enemies, or died in my hands, would you forgive me for that?" Rania asked and Dalrae’s breath hitched in her throat. She knew how much Rania had worked hard to find her parents.

She knew that Rania wouldn’t ever intentionally kill her parents.

As she stared at her sister, Dalrae wasn’t sure what answer was perfect for that situation. She had seen Rania in action one too many times and she knew that Rania never murdered for the sake of it.

Everyone she killed by her hands had always deserved it, and that made Dalrae wonder if her parents had done things so sinister that Kim Rania had killed them 0ojn her own.

"Well, I know you. I trust you. And I also know that you didn’t just wake up and do things. If you killed them, then they had to have done something to you or threatened our safety. I would understand.

"Besides, let’s be honest, you have been more of my parents than sister, Rani," Dalrae said earnestly.

Kim Rania had been everything to her. She had defended her, loved her and protected her with all there was to life.

Kim Rania had been in danger one too many times because of Dalrae and even then, she had made sure that her sister was never hurt. It was like Dalrae was the one person that Rania loved more than life itself, and she had proven it one too many times.

"Lim Limβ€”"

"Is that why you have been silent all this while? It must have been hard to keep everything in, Rani. Did you find them?" Dalrae asked.

She pulled her sister closer to her, while she rested her head on Rania’s lap so casually like she didn’t know that there was a chance that her parents were dead in the hands of Kim Rania.

Well, even if that was a possibility, Dalrae trusted Rania so much it was like their bane to each other.

"I have always wanted to have parents, but then after seeing yours, after all that happened, I stopped going to have one. I read about what parents were supposed to do for their kids, or even what it meant to have a healthy family.

"And yet what I found was a description of who you have always been to me, sister. Everything you did, was what a parent would have done, and I got comfortable with that, because with you, I was always safe, always have been.

"I know I will always be safe with you. So don’t worry too much, it doesn’t matter who they are, as long as I don’t lose you," Dalrae said as she snuggled on Rania’s lap.

Kim Rania was without a doubt her safe space, but would Dalrae think the same if she knew who her parents truly were? Would she still stick to the mission if she understood what the stakes were and what the reality of all this was?

"I love you, always," Rania whispered as she kissed her sister on the forehead before they sat in silence as the sun disappeared into the night. Rania was worried, no doubt, but she wasn’t sure what she needed to do.

The truth was there with them, even if she didn’t want to spell it out. She knew that it would be a cruel thing for her to do but then what else was there for her? She had lost it all, she had been alone and Dalrae had started.

Maybe she would give her sister the chance to decide after all, right?

"There you two are. We have been looking for you all over," the misfits said as they came to the pack house. They had been cleaning up Incheon the whole day with the help of the warriors and frankly, had done a really good job.

They had remade Incayon into a better version and had done it without magic, because they wanted to have a personal touch with the place. What had once been filled with blood and ashy remains was now a place that people would be proud to call home.

They had restored every house with essentials that would last longer. The world was okay, and even then, Kim Rania was still scared of what the new reality would look like.

"We are sleeping, go away," Dalrae said and Chang Wook held onto his chest as if to tell his mate that he was hurting, but Dalrae didn’t buy that.

He always pulled pranks like that on her, even before they knew they were mated, so this wasn’t new to them. There was so much that would happen, even though right now, no one was certain of anything.

"What are you guys thinking of?" Odelia asked as they sat beside the two women.

Kaia looked proud, and happy. He looked like he had never seen a beautiful woman like Rani and at the same time, he looked like he was holding back and didn’t want to break the two women apart.

Of course, this was what family was to them, their entire band of misfits was here together, so they didn’t have to worry about anything.

"Rania was thinking about my parents and how she may have killed them. And I was trying to explain to her that she had been more of my parent than a sister.

"How do I make her understand that I wouldn’t be mad at her no matter what she did to the people I didn’t even know?" Dalrae said and everyone stared at them in silence.

Oshita was the first one to choke up, wondering if Rania had truly come clean to Dalrae. He knew how important this was and he knew that the longer Rania kept it in, the more it would worry her more than anyone else.

He knew how it was bothering her and he could only wish that everything was alright with Rania in the end.

"Well, whenever your parents are, they should know how much we love you or we will take them out if they hurt you. Besides, even if they are dead, they didn’t know you and you didn’t know them.

"So, it’s not exactly a loss, right?" Paloma said as she looked at Dalrae who was still on her sister’s lap. She looked so relaxed like she wasn’t even worried about what the future would hold. Well, Rani was worrying for the both of them, right?

"Exactly. She shouldn’t be stressing over strangers," Dalrae said as she grabbed Rania’s right hand and kissed her fingers gently.

"But what if they are alive, just not where you would expect them?"
