It was a lonely night, with the flickering rays of moonlight managing to break through the dark clouds for a few seconds, providing faint illumination to the earth below.

But it wasn't just any earth, but a vast range of land, with broken weapons lying over the ground.

There were countless gun barrels, their ends pushing out of the ground like nails, the heavy tires of tanks upside down across the land, and bullets decorated the ground, acting as replacements for stones in the dusty grey world.

A forsaken battlefield where even nature was reluctant to claim.

At the center of it all, a single building was built, with the flickering moonlight shining on it from above.

TAP!

TAP!

TAP!

The sound of fingers tapping against glass echoed through the rooftop of the building.

The air above whooshed crazily, with dark, scraggly hair flying around the single seat where a figure sat:

The figure of a man with a blindfold over his face.

He sat cross-legged on the chair, a table by his side where a bottle and a half-filled cup stood.

His body leaned backward, allowing the moonlight halo to fall upon his being.

A quiet, peaceful aura lingered in the air until the sound of footsteps echoed behind him.

He did not stir from his seat, instead asking in a voice that sounded like metal grinding against itself.

"State your report, Van."

"The base has reported an infiltration of one of its presences in Huwait."

The calm male voice echoed respectfully from behind.

"Huwait… the place where Sauron was condemned?"

"Yes, Lord Ravernor."

"Have you heard the truth from Sauron himself?"

"I have. He made mention not of a group, but of a young man. 'An exceptional anomaly of a young man,' to use his own words."

Van reported as the man quietly stillened in his seat.

"What was his aim?"

"None knows, but Sauron suspected he was after the server codes."

"A Dark Dog?"

"Unlikely, my Lord. By the reports from Sauron, he seems too innocent to be one of them…"

Van reported.

Silence descended upon the world, one that stretched infinitely, with the only sound being the whooshing wind, until—

DRIIIIIIING!

DRIIIIIIING!

The sound of ringing echoed out, cutting sharply through the silence.

"Hmmm."

A deep humming, almost a growl, echoed as two gazes turned to the side.

There, on a large desk at the top of the villa, was a device that constantly vibrated atop the table.

"How bizarre…"

Lord Ravernor said, and in the next moment quietly snapped his fingers.

Immediately, Van rose from his knee and walked toward the device, picking it in his hands.

He returned to the side of Lord Ravernor, kneeling once more before his hands slid over the screen, picking up the call and bringing it closer to the blindfolded man.

Silence lingered from the other side for a moment before a voice echoed out.

"Is this Mr. Ravernor El Doris?"

The words at the end were feminine, the nervousness unable to be concealed due to the almost robotic formality.

"It's been quite a long time since I've heard the voice of an ordinary human."

Lord Ravernor replied, abrupt silence followed from the other side.

___________

In the Info room sat Everlearn and Sara, both with flickers of shock in their eyes.

Before them was the hologram of the man, which constantly rippled with every word, and the words he had just spoken had sent them into a state of shock.

How had he been able to guess that Sara was no Corer?

The words soon echoed out once more.

"An ordinary human should not have my contacts, yet here you are. Let me guess, you're the one behind the infiltration of the base in Huwait, where you were able to steal the codes and hence obtain my information."

The words echoed out again, rendering them even more speechless.

Replies and words flooded Sara's mind as she struggled to respond, but then the voice spoke again.

"The exceptional young man who infiltrated Huwait…"

He paused.

"I wish to have a word with him,"

Sara's brows furrowed for a moment.

Her first instinct was to deny it, but then she turned to Everlearn, who hummed quietly.

Sara shifted aside, allowing Everlearn to take the microphone.

"Our aim is simple, Ravernor…"

Everlearn's voice echoed through the speaker.

A brief silence followed before the voice replied.

"So you're the one who infiltrated Huwait, hmm. What is—"

"The plan," Everlearn said, cutting him off, and continuing. "To move the imprisoned people of Tale City, which is one of the cities held under the Nakros invasion, to safety."

"For that, we will need three things: A small army of Corers, around a dozen, helijets for transport, and the new telolocalized teleporters, around a dozen of them."

"Do you, Ravernor, possess enough authority to issue these things to aid our aim?"

Everlearn asked.

'That… that was too straight to the point,'

Sara thought in disbelief, sweat trailing down her temples.

"And what if I do not?"

The voice came from the other side.

"Then, I do not have the spare time to indulge in conversations with men of no use to my aim…"

Everlearn replied, his hand immediately reaching for the red button to sever the call, but the next words stopped his fingers an inch away.

"I have the authority."

Lord Ravernor said, and Everlearn hummed quietly.

"But if I am to use your words, not having the time to indulge in conversations with men of no use to my aim..."

"Then wouldn't you agree that, to me, you are one of those useless men, and this conversation should not be taking place at all?"

Lord Ravernor said, amused mockery in his tone, though Everlearn's expression remained unchanged.

"The TCF's mission in the war is to take back as many invaded cities as possible, and you are a higher-up of the TCF Base."

"It's safe to say that duty falls directly on your soldiers."

"I am one with a plan to take back Tale City with as little damage as possible, which is, in a way, also your main duty."

"For that reason, wouldn't you also say I am of great importance to you?"
