Chapter 210: Chapter 210 Ye Xiu PKs Qi Yun Dao, the Gambling King

"Young man, that’s Lv Liang, the Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao. Don’t gamble with him, or you’ll lose the shirt off your back!" An Dongye hurriedly warned. She didn’t recognize Lv Liang herself but had overheard the chatter from the crowd.

The other gamblers also chimed in with warnings.

"Kid, don’t overestimate yourself. You have no hope of winning against Lv Liang."

"Lv Liang’s gambling skills are the best in all of Qi Yun Dao. No one in Jin Ye City is his match. If you gamble with him, you’re guaranteed to lose."

"If you gamble with Lv Liang, you’re going to lose every last one of those chips."

Seeing everyone trying to talk Ye Xiu out of it, Lv Liang grew furious. These damn people are trying to ruin my fortune! He had rushed over after the staff told him a high roller had shown up, hoping to fleece the whale. Seeing everyone trying to scare away his prize, he couldn’t help but feel anxious.

"Sir, allow me to introduce myself," Lv Liang said with a smile. "My name is Lv Liang. I’m the owner of the Crystal Palace and this casino. Everyone calls me the Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao. If you feel your skills aren’t up to par, you’re free to refuse my challenge."

A little reverse psychology should do the trick. He was trying to bait Ye Xiu into a match.

"What’s so special about the Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao? I accept your challenge!" Ye Xiu said, pretending to fall for Lv Liang’s ploy despite seeing right through it.

Lv Liang was ecstatic. What a naive fool. He took the bait so easily.

Meanwhile, An Dongye and the onlookers sighed. Ye Xiu is finished. He’s going to lose everything tonight.

"Fine, I’ll play," Ye Xiu said. "But your stake has to match mine, and we’re only playing one game: roll one die, highest number wins."

"No problem, we’ll play your way," Lv Liang agreed readily. He turned to the croupier and said, "Go get me 200 million in chips!"

He ordered so many to give Ye Xiu the illusion that there was a massive fortune to be won.

The croupier quickly returned with a large tray piled high with chips.

"Sir, since this is our first time, perhaps we should start with a smaller bet?" Lv Liang asked with a smile, laying another verbal trap.

"Where’s the fun in that?" Ye Xiu countered. "I have 110 million in chips here. I’m betting it all. You match me with 110 million. We roll the dice, and whoever has the higher number takes the other’s 110 million."

A sharp gasp went through the crowd. An Dongye and the surrounding gamblers were stunned. They had never seen such a high-stakes bet before. A single wager of 110 million each meant a pot of 220 million. Now *this* was true high-stakes gambling!

Lv Liang almost burst out laughing. Idiot. All it took was a little goading to make him bet everything. He said, "Alright, we’ll play however you like. Shall we begin?"

"Let’s start. I’ll go first!" Ye Xiu picked up the die, put it in the shaker, gave it a few careless shakes, and slammed the cup down on the table. "Your turn."

The gamblers were speechless. The kid didn’t even know the basics of shaking a dice cup, yet he thought he could beat Lv Liang, the Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao. It was pure delusion.

An Dongye sighed to herself. If Ye Xiu loses, I’m prepared to start robbing the place.

"Alright, my turn!" Lv Liang stifled a laugh as he picked up the shaker. With a flick of his wrist, the die was inside, and he launched into a dazzling display of his signature dice-shaking technique. The flashy performance left An Dongye and the other gamblers mesmerized.

An Dongye sighed again. Just based on that display, Lv Liang is clearly far more skilled than Ye Xiu.

Ye Xiu watched Lv Liang show off his skills with a smug expression, as if he had already hit the jackpot. He didn’t interrupt. After all, the man is about to lose 110 million. Might as well let him enjoy his little performance.

After showing off for several minutes, Lv Liang finally slammed the cup down on the table with a CLACK, albeit with some reluctance. He smiled. "Open them!"

"Alright." Ye Xiu lifted his shaker.

Six.

An uproar swept through the crowd.

"This kid’s got some damn good luck! He rolled a six."

"Well, at least he can’t lose this round. Lv Liang can’t possibly roll higher than a six."

"Lv Liang will definitely get a six, too. He always gets whatever number he wants."

The gamblers chattered excitedly about Ye Xiu’s luck.

An Dongye remained expressionless. Ye Xiu got lucky this first round, but that doesn’t guarantee a thing for the second.

Lv Liang, however, was secretly disappointed. I thought I could take all his chips in one go. It seems I’ll have to wait for the next round.

"Aren’t you going to reveal yours?" Ye Xiu asked.

"This round is a draw. I also have a six—" Lv Liang began, confidently lifting his shaker. The words died in his throat when he saw the result. His confident expression froze solid.

The sight of Lv Liang’s die caused a new wave of commotion!

Five.

One point lower than Ye Xiu.

"This kid has the devil’s own luck! He actually beat the Gambling King of Qi Yun Dao! He can brag about this for the rest of his life."

"Holy crap! He won 110 million in a single roll! When will I ever have luck like that?"

"Goes to show, even the best can slip up. Can’t believe Lv Liang rolled a five."

"He must have done it on purpose. He’s letting the kid win one so he can take everything in the next round!"

Listening to the crowd’s speculation, Lv Liang’s heart shattered. Let him win? I was trying to wipe him out in one go! But I screwed up and rolled a five!

"An excellent roll, sir," Lv Liang said, recovering with a smile. "Here, 110 million in chips. They’re all yours. Shall we continue?"

He showed no sign of frustration despite losing 110 million. That last round was just a fluke. I’ll definitely win it all back next time!

"Alright," Ye Xiu said. "Now I have 220 million. I’m betting it all again."

Another collective gasp went through the room.

The watching gamblers silently cursed Ye Xiu’s foolishness. He should have walked away after winning, or at least made a smaller bet for the second round. Wagering all 220 million at once is just gifting it to Lv Liang. Just because Lv Liang messed up once doesn’t mean he’ll do it again!

But Lv Liang smiled. I was just wondering how to provoke him into going all-in, and he did it all by himself. He said to the croupier, "I only have 90 million left here. Go get me another 130 million in chips."

"Yes, sir!" The croupier nodded and hurried off, returning moments later with 130 million more in chips.

"Shall we continue, sir?" Lv Liang smiled.

"Let’s." Ye Xiu nodded, tossed the die into the shaker, gave it a few casual shakes, and set it down on the table—the exact same careless motion as before.

Seeing this, Lv Liang began to shake his own cup. This time, there was no showboating. He shook it with intense focus, terrified of another mistake.

Finally, with a CLACK, Lv Liang slammed the shaker down and immediately lifted it.

Three.

"How is that possible?" Lv Liang was stunned. He could always roll whatever number he wanted. How could he have two accidents in a row tonight?

It wasn’t just Lv Liang who was dumbfounded. An Dongye and the watching gamblers were completely baffled as well.

"Lv Liang, are you deliberately throwing money at this kid?"

"Even if you’re trying to let him win a couple of rounds before taking it all back, you’re making it way too obvious."

"This is going too far, Lv Liang. We all know you’re an amazing gambler, so you must be losing to this kid on purpose. You’re just trying to egg him on."
