Chapter 518: Chapter 369: Saving Erelado_1

Erelado held his head high. Even in death, he would die honorably, true to his identity as the Elf King.

When persuasion failed, the Tower Mages immediately moved to encircle and kill Erelado.

The Lightning Element Mage drew the rapier from her waist and, transforming into a bolt of electricity, shot towards Erelado. The giant stone golem controlled by the Earth Element Mage transformed its right hand into a battle hammer, sweeping it towards the elven heroes defending Erelado. The other Tower Mages also unleashed their attack magic, intending to eliminate their target for the beheading operation with concentrated fire.

However, a bullet came streaking from above, grazing the Earth Element Mage’s side and burrowing into the giant stone golem’s head. The stone golem’s head exploded. Its hammer never touched the elves before it crumbled into a pile of rubble, scattering across the shield the heroes had raised.

Moving like lightning, the Lightning Element Mage appeared before Erelado. In an instant, her rapier, crackling with purple electricity, slashed down towards him.

At that very moment, a dark figure plunged from atop a cargo truck behind Erelado. Her spear thrust forward, a meter-long razor edge extending from its tip.

Unwilling to risk a mutually destructive clash, the Lightning Element Mage transformed into an electric current and leaped back, narrowly dodging the descending spear.

The unstoppable spear plunged deep into the earth. Donna landed, multiple layers of shields unfolding before her to block all incoming magic. Then Donna kicked the spear shaft. The buried spearhead shot upwards, carving a deep trench in the ground.

"Donna!" Erelado recognized the girl shielding him. "What are you doing here?"

Donna twirled her spear, assuming a defensive stance. Without looking back, she replied, "Your Majesty, you’ve brought quite the trouble upon my Lord’s household. Not only has the entire Eternal Territory Air Force left their nest, but my Lord himself has come to rescue you."

"Lord Yan Xing has come too!" Erelado was profoundly shocked. This was deep in the savage hinterlands, surrounded by an unknown number of Orcs and an uncertain number of surviving Elves. For Yan Xing to come to his rescue at such a time meant taking immense risks.

"He’s here." Donna pointed upwards. Several figures descended from the sky, landing heavily on the ground.

"Good, we made it in time. Erelado, prepare to withdraw." Yan Xing and his Super Tactical Squad members formed a protective circle around Erelado.

Before them stood the Tower Mages, now shrouded in a war fog. They had all received training from Anderson and knew exactly what had transpired on the bridge of the Lord’s Mansion in Storm City. The Elemental Mage Moflin had his head blown off by a sniper. Several other Tower Mages had also been killed by headshots from that same sniper. That weapon was extremely domineering; their multiple layers of shields had crumbled like eggshells before it.

Therefore, upon seeing these individuals clad in special silver combat armor, the Tower Mages acted as Anderson had taught them: they first released a war fog before considering any other response.

On the ground, scattered stones began to reassemble. Before it could fully regenerate, the giant stone golem charged at Yan Xing and his party. It roared, flailing its arms like a berserk giant ape.

Hibel leaped, positioning herself before the giant stone golem. Mid-air, she drew her sword and slashed forward.

The sword’s white light sliced through space, tearing open a black hole-like rift along the path of the cut. The giant stone golem was cleaved in half at the waist, its movements freezing instantly. Its body then disintegrated and collapsed, forcibly sucked into the rift.

Once the last piece of stone was devoured by the black hole, the rift closed. Hibel landed and sheathed her sword. The air, thick with the smell of gunpowder, rustled her long hair, as if the rift had never existed.

This stunning strike seemed to freeze time itself. Everyone was rooted to the spot; even Yan Xing couldn’t help but gape in astonishment.

Was this the power of a super-weapon?

The armor Hibel wore was indeed the first suit of super-armor developed by the Eternal Domain. It was named "Judgment." Its power, evident from the recent strike, was far stronger than Magic Weapons by no small margin. However, its appearance was still somewhat crude, hardly different from the Magic Weapons worn by Yan Xing and his team. The main reason was that this suit of super-armor had just completed its third round of testing and hadn’t undergone aesthetic modifications or decoration before Yan Xing deployed it.

This was a rescue operation deep behind enemy lines; naturally, they had to bring their strongest fighting force.

Hibel’s slash had been immensely intimidating. It left the Tower Mages motionless for a long moment. Though it was unclear what they were thinking behind the fog, they were undoubtedly terrified.

Could I withstand that strike? The question echoed in each Mage’s mind.

They’re wearing the same type of armor, they observed. Does that mean they all possess such formidable power? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Aside from the Earth Element Mage and Lightning Element Mage, who might contend with such power, the other, lower-ranked Tower Mages would simply be throwing their lives away. Six Tower Mages had been killed on the bridge. Facing this same group of enemies again, the Tower Mages couldn’t help but feel a flicker of fear.

Seeing the Tower Mages remain hidden in the war fog, making no move, Yan Xing secretly ordered the Super Tactical Squad to begin an orderly retreat. There was no point in a standoff with the Tower Mages here.
