MIGHT AS WELL BE OP-Chapter 1040: Von Bryan-1
Within the Blue Planet, the weather was calm as people went about their daily lives. Adventurers went adventuring, dungeon diving, Mercenaries took various unusual missions in the name of Mana Crystals, while normal people at the bottom of society, like the Mortal Rankers (F to SSS Mana Rank), went about their own sales and hustling, striving endlessly to survive and make a living within the vast and ever-moving currents of society.
Billions of kilometers in another direction, the Dragon Domain stood, various Dragons tore through the air in their Dragon form, while some shot through the sky in their human forms but with wings on their backs. Deeper within this Domain, within a huge estate expanded and stretching tens of kilometers, within this estate was the Royal Dragon family, the family that ruled the Dragon Domain with unquestionable authority and overwhelming might.
Various buildings stretched within, and within a castle amongst one of them, a boy could be seen walking down a hallway with messy hair and a sweat-filled body, sweat he could have easily gotten rid of with a gentle control of his Mana, yet he allowed it to remain, as though savoring the results of his own effort and training.
The boy was Von Bryan, the Crown Prince of the Dragon Domain, set to inherit it from his Father, Iserios Von Deathwrath, who was the current Dragon Emperor, and the current strongest Dragon after the First Supreme Monarch, a being whose name alone commanded fear and reverence across countless realms.
Although Von Bryan was merely the second Prince, his talent had made him be titled the Crowned Prince, an official title; he was set to inherit and rule the entire Dragon Domain. It was a position people would kill for, a position drenched in both glory and blood, where only the most capable could ever hope to stand.
At this moment, Von Bryan had just stepped out from his training chamber, as he had spent hours swinging his sword endlessly, refining his technique with iron focus. As he walked, a female Dragon appeared by his side and bowed.
"What is it?" Bryan asked with an expressionless tone, not stopping to acknowledge the female Dragon’s bow, as she was a maid who simply bowed every moment she saw him; he couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge it every single time.
The maid immediately rose from her bowing position as she spoke, following behind Bryan with quiet, graceful steps as she spoke, "The Money God had been online for five hours, and has recently gone offline about ten minutes ago," her tone was respectful, steady, and devoid of unnecessary emotion.
The moment Bryan heard this, he stopped in his tracks for a moment, his phone appearing in his hand from his space ring as he started to go through the Internet’s recent activities, his eyes scanning rapidly as though searching for something far more significant than ordinary updates. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
The maid was confused, she couldn’t understand why her master, a Royal Dragon, who was said to be more talented than even their Emperor, was so interested in some human who called himself "Money God."
She had gone through this Money God’s public profile and account, and all she saw was him spending billions and billions of Quarks, while also gossiping around online. Although billions of Quarks might seem like a lot, anyone could spend it; even she, a maid, could spend quadrillions if she wanted without batting an eye.
Quarks had no use to them, at their level, only resources and Mana Crystals mattered. To her, there was simply nothing interesting about this Money God. Her master, Bryan, could even be a Money God online if he wanted, and likely surpass such a title effortlessly.
Although all these thoughts swirled in her mind, none of them dared rise to her face. Although extremely powerful, she was to serve the Royal Dragon family; she was a maid, and she dared not question the Crowned Prince under any circumstance.
"You may leave," Bryan’s voice echoed as he walked, and at his command, the maid vanished as though she was never there to begin with, her presence erased as seamlessly as it had appeared.
Bryan sighed as he stared at his phone, reading the comments the Money God left within the hours he was online. Unlike others, he knew Null Anthony was the Money God. He and Null Anthony had been classmates during the Omni Peak Star Academy five years ago; they had shared one class, one building, participated in written exams and all the normal school activities, and then they went ahead and graduated during their first year, without even getting to the second or third academic year, leaving behind a legacy that few could comprehend.
He remembered all of that like it was yesterday, every detail etched vividly into his memory as though time itself had refused to dull those moments.
After they had all graduated five years ago, everyone, he, the Titan Storm Brothers, Rider and Bringer, and the Vampire named Tiara, had all gone their separate ways. None had contacted the other; they were all from families of immense legacies and ancient history, and they had all gone to pursue their personal paths, not bothering about the others as their responsibilities and ambitions took precedence.
But everything changed about eight months ago, the moment when the Military had attacked to wipe out the Forsaken Cult once and for all from the Blue Planet, an event that shook the entire world to its core.
Back then, during the battle, a man named StreamGhost had live-streamed every single battle going on throughout the Blue Planet, as it was a worldwide purge of unprecedented scale. Von Bryan had watched that stream; he had seen Null Anthony, his former classmate, unleash power he could never imagine existed.
He had seen him reduce kilometers to nothing, he had seen him reduce stars to oblivion, he had seen him reduce planets, moons, suns, comets, and other outer space constellations to nothing during his battle with the Demon named Lilith, a spectacle that defied all known logic and comprehension.
But that wasn’t even the craziest part; he had seen Anthony reverse time for the entire planet and perform a mass resurrection, something he had not dared to imagine could exist, something that stood far beyond the known boundaries of power.
Null Anthony, his classmate, the human boy whom he fought for the Rank 1 position during the Omni entrance exam days five years ago, the boy whom he trained to surpass in rank during their academic training with the Principal, the very same individual he once viewed as a rival.
After all these feats were performed before his eyes, Von Bryan had approached his Father, Iserios Von Deathwrath, for information on Anthony. He wanted to know what Anthony had been up to, he wanted to know how Anthony had climbed to such heights in five years, he wanted to, no, he needed to know; he wouldn’t be able to sleep if he didn’t find out the truth behind such overwhelming growth.
At first, the Emperor was hesitant, but after a moment, he agreed. As an Emperor, and as a Planetary-level being, gathering information on Anthony was easy for Iserios Von Deathwrath, so within a single day, he told Von Bryan of what Anthony had been up to, unveiling truths that would shake even the strongest of minds.
