Chapter 716: Chapter 0716: The First Setback_1

Yanjing, Liwen Jewelry Store.

Zhang Bin, his appearance altered, walked in and glanced around. He looked completely at ease, with none of the busyness one would expect from the leader of two sects. After all, he had made a habit of delegating his responsibilities.

Tian Guangjin and Tian Bingbing were teaching the disciples of the Taiqing Sect. Furthermore, the seven fairies were also there to assist. As for the Daoyi Sect, he had left it to Li Taiqing, the acting Sect Leader, and Zhao Dawei, the Vice Sect Leader.

When Zhang Bin had announced this in the Immortal Palace, not a single disciple from the Daoyi Sect had dared to object. Li Taiqing was simply too powerful, having cultivated to the Golden Core Realm Great Perfection, just a hair’s breadth away from the Nascent Soul Realm. Moreover, Li Taiqing was an elder from the powerful Taiqing Sect. Rumor had it that he was also Zhang Bin’s father-in-law. With such a man as their acting Sect Leader, how could they dare to disobey?

Thus, Zhang Bin was as leisurely as ever, with no urgent matters to attend to. He felt even more relaxed and carefree than before, especially now that he had dealt with Black Bell. He planned to send the seeds Gao Si needed as soon as possible.

He had obtained some gold from Si Yangze’s Space Ring and more from the treasure trove of the Holy Mother of Black Bell. However, only a portion of it was in the form of Gold Bricks; the majority consisted of jewelry and traditional gold ingots. He planned to liquidate these items and exchange them for standard Gold Bricks to use as an energy source for the Interstellar Teleportation Array. He also wanted to sell off some less important cultural relics for cash, which he would then use for charitable works to earn meritorious deeds.

The Liwen Jewelry Store was owned by a woman named Jiang Liwen.

Jiang Liwen, twenty-five years old, was nicknamed the Jewelry Empress. She possessed an extraordinary ability to appraise jewelry and exceptionally vast knowledge on the subject. She was also said to be a stunning beauty whom countless men dreamed of. Zhang Bin was primarily here because of the latter.

"Sir, what kind of jewelry are you looking for?" a beautiful sales clerk greeted him as soon as he entered, her tone sweet and charming.

Zhang Bin was dressed quite ordinarily, but his vast experiences, coupled with his current status as the leader of both the Daoyi and Taiqing Sects, gave him a naturally extraordinary aura. He certainly didn’t look like a pauper, so it was plausible he was a genuine customer.

"Heh... you have a nice place here," Zhang Bin said with a grin, glancing over the lavish and glittering displays in the many counters.

"Our store is one of the best in the world. Whatever you’re looking for, we can satisfy your needs," the sales clerk said proudly.

Uninterested in the ordinary jewelry on display, Zhang Bin smiled and got straight to the point. "I’m here to discuss a major business deal. Take me to your boss, Jiang Liwen."

"Do you have an appointment with our boss?" the young woman’s voice turned cold. Her face filled with disdain; she figured he was just another clueless rich kid trying to woo the boss.

"What? You need an appointment just to talk business?" Zhang Bin asked, taken aback.

"Our boss is very busy. She has a great deal of jewelry to appraise and many clients to see every day, so an appointment is required," the sales clerk said.

"But your boss isn’t meeting with anyone right now," Zhang Bin countered.

"You... You’re talking nonsense! Please leave," the sales clerk snapped. "Security! Security!"

Two burly guards immediately rushed over, preparing to shove Zhang Bin out.

"Don’t touch me," Zhang Bin said with a wicked smile, "or the consequences will be severe."

The guards, of course, didn’t believe him and began to shove him roughly. But the instant they made contact, they yelped in pain and tumbled to the floor, rolling over several times. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂

"That’s the ’Sticky Clothing Eighteen Falls’ technique!" one of the guards shouted angrily. "But you’ve come to the wrong place if you think you can get away with acting tough in our store!"

Before he could finish speaking, a dozen more guards rushed over. All of them were formidable, with most having reached the Rushing Pulse Realm. They postured, ready to attack Zhang Bin.

But then a sharp, feminine voice cried out, "Stop!"

It was Jiang Liwen. She had emerged from the manager’s office and now stood before Zhang Bin, carrying a faint, elegant fragrance and an icy aura. She stood about 1.75 meters tall, with large, bright eyes and a broad forehead. Her raven hair was as soft as water, cascading down her back.

She was exceptionally well-endowed, her chest standing out proudly. Her pink blouse was tucked into her skirt, accentuating a slender, supple waist and giving her a vibrant look. The red, form-fitting skirt seemed barely able to contain her rounded, perky posterior. Her long, bare legs were pale, delicate, and utterly enticing.

Finally, Zhang Bin’s gaze landed on her dainty jade-like feet, and he found it difficult to look away. He wasn’t a foot fetishist, but at that moment, he felt a genuine urge to hold and admire them.

"Sir, where are your eyes?" Jiang Liwen’s face turned frosty, which only served to enhance her noble temperament. Many of the gawking customers couldn’t help but gulp. The woman was simply too alluring, like a delectable meal that could make one’s mouth water.

"At your feet, of course," Zhang Bin replied, snapping out of his daze with a wicked grin.

"You..." Jiang Liwen was so furious she was speechless. She had never met anyone like him, who would admit to such a thing so brazenly. It was blatant, shameless flirting, and something an ordinary person would surely deny.

"You’re Jiang Liwen, right? I’m here to have you appraise some jewelry," Zhang Bin stated his purpose.

"I’m sorry, I’m very busy these days and have no time to appraise anything for you. Please leave," Jiang Liwen said coldly. "Security, see our guest out."

Zhang Bin was empty-handed and wore no jewelry. It was obvious he was just another tiresome young man trying to woo her. She’d seen far too many of his kind and dismissed them as nothing more than buzzing flies.

Several guards moved to escort him out, batons raised high. "Sir, please."

"My dear lady, this is a Luminous Pearl that has been passed down in my family. Could you perhaps appraise it for me?" Of course Zhang Bin wasn’t going to leave. He pulled a Luminous Pearl the size of a chicken’s egg from his pocket, holding it out with a grin.

Jiang Liwen paused for a moment. But then, perhaps provoked by the infuriating grin on his face, she said coldly, "As I’ve already said, I am too busy to appraise it for you. Find someone else. There are plenty of other master jewelers in Yanjing who can help you."

With that, she turned and walked back into her office.

Zhang Bin was stunned. This girl is so arrogant! She’s not even willing to appraise it? Is she afraid I can’t afford the fee? There weren’t many people in the world who dared to show him, Zhang Bin, such disrespect.

Fine. Just you watch. I’ll make you appraise my jewelry for me, and you’ll do it for free. Zhang Bin thought to himself. Without another word, he turned and walked out.
