Miss Witch's Devotion Has Gone… Twisted-Chapter 285: Jealousy
Having played outside all day yesterday, Loren had no plans to go out today. His research on Blood Magic was also mostly complete, though Blood Magic wasn't very useful to Loren; all he really needed was the Blood Moon Condensed Light.
Loren looked out the window. The moon was about to become completely full, and the night of the full moon was only a few days away.
Luna inched her way over to Loren's side and began admiring the moon with him.
"A golden moon is indeed much more beautiful than a crimson one."
Loren suddenly started a conversation with her, which made her feel incredibly flattered and instantly flustered.
"Y-yes... it is... the sunlight is quite nice today too..."
Luna's voice grew softer and softer. She felt a wave of awkwardness wash over her, hating how she couldn't even speak properly in front of Loren.
"By the way, Luna, which school's graduation certificate do you want?"
Loren suddenly realized something. Luna had been following him for so long; what she had learned definitely surpassed anything any academy could teach. Moreover, her identity as Loren's student was more useful than being a student of any academy.
It was just that Loren didn't want Luna to lack anything, so he thought he might as well get her a graduation certificate.
Even for a mage, having a graduation certificate from a higher academy was far better than having nothing at all.
Whether she entered the Church in the future or became a guard, a mage with a graduation certificate would undoubtedly be stronger than one without.
In his previous life, Loren attended half a university without really learning much; he was just after that degree certificate. In most situations, that piece of paper was more useful than the knowledge Loren had painstakingly acquired.
Back then, Loren had heard that some foreign universities would grant degree certificates just for donations, which made him incredibly envious. So now, since Loren had the ability, he wanted to experience that feeling.
"How about a graduation certificate from the Bountiful Magic Academy in the Kingdom of Nofica? It's the highest-level academy within the God of Bountiful Harvest's territory. Countless young geniuses have broken their heads trying to get into that academy."
There were quite a few academies in this world. The safest start for a newbie player was an academy start, as it at least guaranteed learning something and made it easier to pick up quests later.
"Never mind..."
Luna politely declined Loren's kindness. She felt she had already caused Loren enough trouble and didn't want to burden him further.
"Alright then."
Loren didn't insist. Luna's identity as his student was sufficient; it was more useful than any academy's graduation certificate. Loren's suggestion had just been a sudden whim.
Although Luna had rejected Loren's proposal, she couldn't help but feel a warmth in her heart.
"I'm going to go catch a few more winks. Call me if you need anything."
Loren casually patted Luna's hair and then returned to his room.
Even after Loren left, Luna remained standing there in a daze. She placed her hand on the spot Loren had just touched, reminiscing about the feeling.
...
With Cecelia's disturbance yesterday, Loren hadn't slept well, and he had gotten up a bit early today.
However, just thinking about Cecelia being under his bed made Loren feel somewhat unable to hold back his exasperation.
After Loren entered the room, Lilith followed behind him as if she had auto-follow enabled. She didn't like to talk, nor did she know how to express herself. She only knew that she would feel uneasy whenever Loren left her sight.
"Oh, right, Lilith, this is for you."
Looking at Lilith obediently following him, Loren suddenly handed her a small box.
"This contains the sunscreen I developed. This batch is specially formulated for you. Its effectiveness is several times better than the sunscreen I prepared for those vampires, and it won't cause any damage to your skin either. You can use it with confidence."
After giving the sunscreen formula to the vampires, Loren quickly researched an even better version. However, he intended to keep this one for Lilith; there was no way he'd give it to those vampires. Sunscreen that was too effective wasn't a good thing for Loren.
Originally, Loren planned to give these to Lilith as a farewell gift before leaving. But recently, with Aisaco nowhere to be seen, Loren feared the Bloodline Rebels might have further moves, so he decided to give it to Lilith now, just in case.
Come to think of it, Loren didn't know much about Lilith. He only knew she was a half-vampire, that the only magic she knew was Blood Moon Condensed Light, and nothing else.
Loren also wasn't clear on Lilith's actual strength or how much stronger her regenerative abilities were compared to an ordinary person. But Loren probably wouldn't have a chance to find out. He couldn't possibly make Lilith fight, and he couldn't bring himself to cut her a few times just to test her regeneration.
After all, Lilith had truly provided Loren with significant help, and Loren had also felt her clumsy yet sincere affection. He couldn't bring himself to hurt her.
"When was the last time you drank blood?"
"I forgot..."
"..."
Loren wasn't surprised by this answer. If Lilith could remember, Loren would suspect she had been replaced by a Pseudohuman.
To prevent Lilith from going berserk from not drinking blood, Loren cut his own finger and placed it in Lilith's mouth.
With Loren's finger in her mouth, Lilith suddenly relaxed and lay down in Loren's arms, like a little baby. Loren naturally began stroking her hair.
It was at this moment that Cecelia, hiding under the bed, crawled out. The look she gave Loren and Lilith was full of grievance, an expression akin to catching someone in the act of cheating.
"No, you..."
Loren had just wanted to complain a bit, but Cecelia, sobbing, retreated back under the bed.
"..."
There wasn't much Loren could do about it; he could only humor her.
Loren suppressed his regenerative ability, letting the blood flow continuously. However, Loren noticed Lilith had long stopped drinking the blood; she just continued to hold Loren's finger in her mouth.
She didn't want to drink too much of Loren's blood, but she quite enjoyed this feeling.
At this moment, Loren's mind wasn't on Lilith, because Gwen, disguised as a Vampire Viscount, had just received a letter signed by Aisaco. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Aisaco had simultaneously invited many high-ranking vampires to be guests at a remote manor tomorrow. The list of invitees even included many Dukes.
Aisaco had been rescued openly by the Bloodline Rebels. Now everyone knew Aisaco was connected to the Bloodline Rebels, and might even be their leader.
After the rebellion led by the Bloodline Rebels, the vampires now hated Aisaco to the bone.
That rebellion didn't have a huge impact on the vampire upper echelons, but the lower-ranking vampires suffered a devastating blow, and the entire Bloodline was severely wounded.
It was possible Aisaco really could attract quite a few vampire Dukes.
As for the Princes, Loren didn't think they would take action. As the most ancient vampires, they had little to do with the vampires of today.
In fact, if the Princes saw what the current vampires were doing, they might not even side with them.
