The heartfelt words of Zhang Mei left a strong impression on Xie Qing. This girl's character was such that she rarely expressed her feelings, so it felt a bit unusual to him. Nevertheless, a feeling of tenderness lingered in his heart. It seemed that just a few words had managed to revive his fighting spirit.

Xie Qing smiled and wanted to respond, but suddenly…

BOOM!

"What?!"

Suddenly, a deafening explosion echoed from the heavens. Xie Qing rushed to the window and looked at the sky, his face contorting.

"Damn…"

Ding! Ding!

[Please prepare yourself.]

"This…"

Ding! Ding!

[You have chosen <1. Save the world>]

Br-r-r-r… the earth trembled.

The sudden explosion in the midst of tranquility instantly triggered a reaction from the strongest in the world. Almost all the major sects, already prepared for war, dispatched troops to aid the civilian population. Xu Mei and other sect masters, including Xie Qing, gathered before the rift. Now, it was not just a black hole in the sky. Beyond it, countless stars and planets were visible, indicating that they were not alone in the Heavenly Dao.

"This…" Xu Mei muttered, gripping her sword sheath and gritting her teeth: "A terrifying sight. Although I knew this day would come, but… damn!"

No one responded; everyone was tense. Especially tense was Xie Qing, whose forehead was beaded with cold sweat. He could clearly sense the aura of the enemies.

"Indeed, there are ten. Moreover, they are not just any weaklings, but true warriors. Their experience surpasses that of Xu Mei and the others."

No one had appeared yet, but Xie Qing's intuition never failed him. Ten auras were persistently trying to enter the portal, and they would likely succeed in a few days.

"If we cannot save the world…" murmured Lian Lin, gripping her sword hilt. Her red eyes burned with fear: "I fear this will be the end."

"No need to set ourselves up for failure so quickly. Instead, we need to think of how to counter them…" replied Zhang Mei, her eyes gleaming in the darkness. She seemed to be analyzing the enemies: "I sense strong negative karma. Our enemy is certainly not simple."

"Negative karma? Damn…"

The mood was grim. Xie Qing bit his lip and clicked his tongue in irritation, realizing that his strength was not enough to counter them. And it wasn't just about him, but also about the others.

"Prepare yourselves," said Xie Qing after a long silence, thus capturing the attention of all the Transcendence-level cultivators of this world: "As we discussed, we will use 'this' tactic to effectively deal with the enemy. At the very least, we must delay them and drive them out of this world, and at most – kill them."

And in response to his words, everyone nodded. For several weeks, they had been preparing for this day, devising a plan and readying techniques, items, and formations. Although the main goal was to kill the enemies, everyone hoped at most to expel them and seal the hole, which was also a challenging task.

Ding!

"Hm?"

Xie Qing heard the system notification sound and, looking at it for a few seconds, showed no emotions on his face, but his eyes flickered.

"And such a thing is possible… well…"

Crackle… crackle…

On the second day, Xie Qing opened his eyes, interrupting his meditation as he heard a strange crackling sound.

"Hm?"

His eyes widened, and all six of his senses screamed danger. He abruptly stood up and moved his hands to the side, then… forcefully clapped them together.

CLAP!

"Agh! W-what the?!"

The sharp, loud noise awakened all the sleeping soldiers, and those on guard, startled, jumped in their spots. But most importantly, it was a signal.

"Soldiers!" boomed the voice of Xu Mei across the battlefield. She soared into the sky, looking down at the million-strong army of cultivators. Her speech was brief but commanding: "The vile invaders are trying to seize our lands. They will kill you, your parents, your children, and even your damned dogs! Surrender? Submit? Banish those words to hell, for our enemy knows no mercy!"

The powerful voice, filled with confidence and authority, instantly captivated the soldiers, who stood tall and gripped their sword hilts tighter. Their eyes burned with passion.

"I hope their resolve lasts longer than a few minutes," thought Xie Qing, as Xu Mei delivered the inspiring speech written by Zhang Mei. He looked towards the black hole and frowned: "Bastard. Provoking me?"

A greedy gaze. That's what he encountered as he looked into the portal. He couldn't see his opponent, nor could his opponent see him, but their auras were like a beacon in the dark night.

"And his aura… is far more powerful…" thought Xie Qing, drawing the Nameless Sword: "But he grows weaker the closer he gets to the Mortal World. Even Immortals cannot ignore the Laws of Heaven."

However, "becoming weaker" does not mean he has grown so weak that he can be finished off with a few strikes. It will be a brutal battle, and likely, the world will not hold.

That is why…

Xie Qing looked at Zhang Mei. Fortunately, their eyes met.

"In five seconds," Xie Qing replied briefly, without context.

However, this was enough for Zhang Mei to nod and understand her task. She retrieved a blue sphere from her spatial ring.

And exactly five seconds later, pouring her Qi into it, she made the sphere shine brightly.

Rumble! Rumble! Rumble!

The whole world rumbled, and buildings crumbled before their eyes. Xie Qing gritted his teeth and channeled his Qi into the sphere.

Rumble! Rumble!

The portal began to crack, and soon ten enormous auras appeared in this world, causing calamities in various parts of the Mortal World. However, as soon as these ten appeared in the world…

"Sub-world!" shouted Zhang Mei.

Flash!

The blue sphere shone even brighter, although with each second, its color turned redder and redder, eventually becoming crimson.

And then…

Whoosh!

Xie Qing and all the Transcendence-level cultivators were transported to a white world where there was nothing—it looked as if they were simply in a white room, albeit of abnormal size.

This was the Sub-world, a different space separated from the Mortal World.

"Hm… quite the trick you've pulled, insects…" a gruff male voice echoed.

Xie Qing, assessing the situation, gripped his sword hilt and looked to the right, towards the sound.

"Hmph."

Scoffing, the man looked at a elegantly dressed cultivator holding a fan. His eyes were closed, and his white robe flowed freely on the ground.

He appeared to be an ordinary, harmless person from a wealthy family, but…

Ding!

[You have encountered one of the invaders.]

[Zhou Xun, Transcendence – 10th stage (Copper Immortal – 4th stage)].

"This will be tough…" murmured Xie Qing, raising his sword and pointing it at the enemy: "Shall we begin?"

"Haha…"

Zhou Xun merely smirked and opened his fan.

"Be my guest, insect."
