Chapter 274: Battle with the Demon Dragon 1

ǁ Salathiir, Demon Dragon ǁ

Coursing through the fractures of the Multiverse, blood thick with pain oozes into the Abyss’s darkest crevices. The hatred and suffering amalgamate in the Abyss, creating a malevolent brew akin to the primordial elixir that birthed mortal life.

For epochs, Torment Demons, known as Salthezau, have manifested from this malefic concoction. Springing forth fully grown, they traverse planes with the sole intent of saturating the cosmos with suffering, perpetuating their wretched existence.

These diminutive demons, resembling large bats, boast three pairs of flapping wings enveloping a spherical body dominated by a large, toothy maw. Despite their sightless nature, they keenly sense the emotions of living beings.

While manageable individually, Salthezau transforms into nightmarish, inescapable terrors when encountered in swarms. Their collective hunting prowess can doom even the mightiest of creatures.

Centuries later, Salthezau underwent a metamorphosis, being reborn as Salathiir.

Salathiir, the Demon Dragon, epitomizes suffering incarnate. Legend holds that every mortal generation witnesses its ascent from the lightless depths of the Abyss. It urges mortal beings to succumb to their darkest instincts, flooding the world with pain, hatred, and loss.

The creature stands as the nemesis of civilization, the bane of peace, and the voracious consumer of hope.

After sating itself on torment, it retreats to the Abyss, resting until its wounds heal, ready to unleash devastation upon the world once more.

"As long as evil festers in the hearts of mortal creatures, the Demon Dragon shall endure."

"Prepare yourselves!"

"Assume battle formations!"

The four guild leaders wasted no time, immediately invoking their most devastating skills to unleash a barrage on the Dragon, intending to bring it to [Berserk Mode] as soon as possible.

Ragnarok Reaper called upon his undead warriors, Eclipse’s Serpent Minions slithered with stealth, Steel Striker’s enchanted blades gleamed, Doom Harbinger’s dark magic crackled around him, and Fury assumed her dragon form.

The air sparkled with tension as players readied themselves for the imminent clash.

"Aggro on me!" The Tanks synchronized their strikes, hammering axes and shields, activating their skills.

The Dragon, drawn by the Tanks’ aggro-controlling abilities, descended with a deafening roar. Instead of unleashing fiery breath, it released swarms of deadly, sharp, giant bat-like devils from its wide mouth.

Fury unfurled her colossal wings, catching the currents of the wind as she soared into the sky. Her scales glinted in the ambient light, and her eyes gleamed with an intensity that mirrored the battle.

As she reached a vantage point above the swarming devils, the players below witnessed the majestic spectacle of their dragon leader taking to the skies.

With a resonant roar that echoed through the expanse, Fury summoned the fiery fire within her. A brilliant, incandescent glow enveloped her maw as she gathered the essence of fire, building up an inferno of unparalleled intensity.

The air crackled with heat, and the players shielded their eyes as Fury unleashed a torrent of flames upon the bat-like devils.

The fiery inferno cascaded down like a waterfall, engulfing the swarms in a conflagration. The sky was momentarily transformed into a canvas of orange and red hues, illuminated by the Dragon’s wrath.

The swarming devils writhed and screeched, their forms dissipating into digital particles as the flames consumed them.

Meanwhile, Doom Harbinger focused his dark magic on the remaining swarms. The players witnessed the emergence of a spell known as [Umbral Embrace].

Dark tendrils ink-like in their appearance, extended from Doom Harbinger’s outstretched hands. These tendrils weaved through the air with an eerie grace, homing in on the bat-like devils with relentless precision. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

As the [Umbral Embrace] touched the swarms, shadows erupted around them, enveloping the devils in a veil of darkness.

The devils struggled against the spectral restraints, their screeches echoing in the void. Slowly but surely, the dark magic disintegrated the devils, leaving behind only digital traces of their malevolent existence.

Simultaneously, Eclipse’s Serpent Minions, sleek and shadowy, slithered with silent coordination. Each serpent, guided by Eclipse’s commands, lunged at the remaining devils with venomous precision. Fangs sunk into flesh, and the serpents coiled around their prey, squeezing the life out of the bat-like devils.

The coordination between Fury’s fiery assault, Doom Harbinger’s Umbral Embrace, and Eclipse’s serpent minions was a display of tactical prowess.

The combined onslaught sought to diminish the swarming devils and pave the way for a focused assault on the true threat — Salathiir, the Demon Dragon.

In the midst of the chaos, Steel Striker and Ragnarok Reaper maintained their focus on Salathiir.

Steel Striker’s legend-grade blades glinted as he executed swift and precise strikes, aiming for vulnerable points on the Dragon’s scaled hide.

Ragnarok Reaper, surrounded by his summoned undead warriors, swung a spectral scythe, coordinating his attacks with Steel Strikers.

The battleground became a symphony of combat, each leader contributing to the chaos. The players at the back, awestruck by the spectacle, adjusted their strategies accordingly.

The relentless assault on Salathiir and the calculated destruction of the swarming devils painted a vivid picture of a guild united in purpose, to defeat the Demon Dragon and advance to the next day.

The clash with the Dragon intensified, its swarming breath, Multiattack, sharp claws and teeth, tested the guild’s resilience.

Eclipse’s Serpent Minions darted with agility, distracting the creature as Steel Striker, Fury, Doom Harbinger, and Ragnarok Reaper tried to bring it down as soon as possible.

In the tumultuous battlefield, the remaining players took on the crucial task of creating openings for the leaders to concentrate on Salathiir.

They engaged in a relentless assault on the devil bats, diverting the attention of Salathiir and dealing damage to the swarms.

Perched atop the Bell Tower, Xin observed the unfolding chaos, aided by his crafted tool — the [Scope]. Fashioned from materials stored in his [Storage Ring], the [Scope] allowed him an enhanced view of the battleground.

Among the players, Xin even spotted Victor, triggering conflicting emotions within him. An odd sense of didn’t want him to die mingled with a hope that he would die to keep his secret safe.

As Xin sighed, torn between conflicting sentiments, the town below benefitted from the protective barrier of Scatter Blasts encircling the battlement.

The strategic placement of these weapons proved instrumental in repelling the devil bat swarms, while mages complemented the defense by casting spells at the devils that managed to evade the Scatter Blasts.

And even when the Devil Bats managed to evade those two, there were healers to finish the job with their holy and light magic.

Yet, amidst the ongoing chaos, Salathiir had yet to unleash any of its formidable abilities.
