MMORPG: Rebirth as an Alchemist-Chapter 858 Clash of Insults
[Filler Chapter]
[Leonel, Isolde, Roz, Avaris, Lethargia]
=======
"Among the most fearsome and dangerous of domains is the dreaded necropolis," Avaris began, his voice tinged with unease as he recounted the harrowing tales. "Within their vile borders, undead gather in tremendous numbers, and necromantic power flows like water."
His words hung heavy in the air, the group exchanging concerned glances as they listened.
"A necropolis domain is an undead paradise — which is hell for most other beings," Avaris continued, his tone grave. "Everything within these domains is dead or dying. While it may seem initially appealing to necromancers and similar masters of undeath, a necropolis is inhospitable to all who cling to the feeble spark of life."
Isolde shuddered involuntarily at the thought, her grip tightening on her weapon.
"Over time, these areas become terrifying bastions of evil and darkness," Avaris elaborated, his expression darkening. "They spawn new undead monstrosities and gather powerful creatures looking to influence the hordes of mindless dead."
The gravity of his words sank in, the group realizing the dire situation they were in.
"Necropolis domains always appear where areas of large-scale death and decay have occurred," Avaris explained, his voice somber. "War-torn battlefields, ancient castles ravaged by disease, and sites of mass extinction events are all prime candidates to form a necropolis."
Avaris paused, reflecting on the grim reality of their surroundings. "I couldn't believe that Niccoli could summon one here. His powers had gotten stronger over the years."
"We should have left him alone. We should have just eliminated him before," Avaris concluded, his frustration evident as he bit his thumb in regret.
"Hoi! What are you doing muttering to yourself back there?!" Isolde called out to Avaris, her voice cutting through the tense atmosphere. "Come and help us with these undead!"
Leonel caught his breath, his muscles straining as he raised his shield again to repel the onrushing abomination. "Damn, there's just no end to them!"
"It's useless. More will come. We have to find Niccoli and kill him, or this will never end," Roz declared grimly, his eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of their elusive foe.
"Hey, Avaris! Do you know where Niccoli is?!" Leonel shouted over the cacophony of battle, his voice echoing amidst the chaos.
"There's no way that Niccoli will show himself. He knows that once he does, you will target him," Avaris replied, his gaze darting around nervously.
"The hell we will!" Isolde retorted and interchanged her weapon to suit her needs.
[Isolde 7.0] proved formidable, but its drain on mana and fatigue made it unsustainable for prolonged combat. With no other option, Isolde opted to switch to a lighter, less resource-intensive weapon — a bazooka.
With a single shot, a large chunk of the undead horde went up in flames, the explosion reverberating through the battlefield.
"But a nice insult could probably get his ass here," Avaris suggested with a grin. "Didn't I tell you, Niccoli might be powerful, but he still has the mind of an arrogant thirteen year old boy."
Leonel grinned back. He knew just what to say. "Good to know."
Taking a deep breath, he raised his voice once more, shouting into the air with all his might.
"Hoi! Niccoli. Is this everything you can make?! Your strength is like weak fire, not like big fire! You think you are so good, but you are not! You act like fancy bird, but you not smart! You don't know how bad you are!"
Roz, usually composed, have his eyes bulged in shock at the dismal quality of Leonel's insults.
Isolde struggled to contain her laughter, her lips twitching with suppressed amusement.
Avaris grimaced and covered his ears with his hands, growling in frustration. "What in the world?! What kind of insult is that?! It makes me want to insult you hundred times over instead!"
Leonel scratched the back of his head awkwardly and forced a laugh. "Ahahaha. Sorry about that. I'm not really good at insulting others."
Avaris sighed heavily and cleared his throat. "Looks like I have to take matters in my own hands. Stay back you noob, and let the pro handle this."
Taking a deep breath, Avaris bellowed, ""Hoi! Niccoli! Is this all you can do?! Your power is as feeble as a candle's flicker in the face of a raging storm! Your arrogance is matched only by your ignorance, for you prance about like a peacock, oblivious to the true depth of your incompetence! "Your magical prowess is akin to a dull knife, incapable of even scratching the surface of our armor. It's no wonder you hide behind your childish tantrums and illusions of grandeur, for when faced with true power, you cower like a frightened child in the dark. "So go ahead, puff out your chest and pretend to be a king, but we all see through your facade, and it's nothing but a pitiful display of insecurity and inadequacy. Your family will never acknowledge you!" After a few tense seconds, the atmosphere crackled with malevolent energy, causing the very air to hum with an ominous intensity.
The faint scent of sulfur lingered as dark clouds gathered overhead, casting a shadow over the desolate landscape.
Suddenly, a rift tore through the fabric of reality, like a jagged scar cutting through the sky. From within the gaping maw of darkness emerged Niccoli, seething with anger and cloaked in an aura of malevolent dark magic.
As he stepped forth from the rift, the ground trembled beneath his feet, and the air seemed to thicken with an oppressive weight.
His eyes blazed with fiery fury, glowing with an ominous intensity.
Niccoli's form radiated with an aura of power, his very presence exuding an air of dominance and menace. The air crackled with energy as sparks of necrotic magic danced around him, casting eerie shadows that flickered across the barren landscape.
His voice was a low, guttural growl, filled with rage and malice.
"Y-you! You dare to insult me?!"
