MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith-Chapter 1362 Two as One
Chapter 1362 Two as One
"About that..." Valyr let out an awkward chuckle as he scratched the back of his head. Forcing the gears in his mind to turn as fast as they possibly could, the young man hastily came up with an excuse as he asked her, "Remember how you asked him to have me come here?"
Seeing Mystia nod in response to his question, Valyr nodded back as he continued with a slightly wry smile, "Well... after the two met up, I asked him to do a couple of errands for me while I was talking with you."
"Are the errands going to take some more time to finish, then?" asked Mystia, not surprised that Valyr had his student do that.
After all, even she would ask either Aloe or Vera to do a couple of tasks for her every once in a while.
"It... wouldn't take too much time," said the young man with a shake of his head. "The errands I had him do were pretty simple. Just needed him to buy some stuff for me!" "Since I already told him where should go to get the items, I'm pretty sure he'll only take around another half hour or so to get back," he continued, having already expected Mystia to ask him how long his player self would take to get back.
...Even though his player self wasn't really even out in the first place.
"If you want, I could have him come back right now," said Valyr after some time, breaking the silence as he shrugged his shoulders. "The items I had him buy weren't really all that important anyway."
"...If you could," replied Mystia after a bit of deliberation, giving Valyr a look that contained both guilt and gratitude.
"Got it," said the latter as he nodded.
Whoosh!
After leaving those words behind, the young man showed no hesitation in leaving the room once more, confident that Mystia would continue to wait for both him and his player self for quite some time.
Of course, knowing that there was a limit to how long she'd wait for the two of them, Valyr swiftly made his way back to the secluded area where he used [Soul Shift] earlier.
"Huu..." Then, after letting out a long exhale, he went ahead and used the only skill he obtained from the two Administrators that he had yet to use.
"[Soul Split]"
Swoosh!
Sensing that a portion of the energy in his body had dissipated into thin air the moment he activated the skill, Valyr was immediately caught off guard when all of that lost energy appeared in his mind all of a sudden.
"Agh...!" Feeling a wave of pain assaulting his head as the energy gradually enveloped his mind, the young man soon felt a sharp pain emanate from the center of his mind around 10 seconds later.
Only for it to reach even greater heights just a few seconds after that.
"...Nngh!" Suppressing the urge to cry out from the pain he was experiencing, Valyr decided to do a few breathing exercises as he endured the pain he felt as best as he could.
Fortunately for him, the extreme levels of pain he was going through only lasted for around five seconds at most, allowing him to relax his body the moment the pain he felt began to diminish.
By the time a couple of minutes had passed since the skill was activated, the pain that wracked his mind had fully disappeared without a trace, which caused him to briefly wonder what kind of purpose that pain served during the process.
However, just as he was about to dismiss the thought, the continuation of the skill's process surprisingly answered that exact question.
Whoosh!
Although the next part of the process caused him no pain whatsoever, Valyr still felt. like something was off as he watched a copy of his mind made out of energy gradually exit through his forehead.
Watching this copy eventually settle around a couple of feet away from where he stood, the young man's eyes soon widened in slight surprise as another portion of the energy in his body disappeared all of a sudden.
Swish! Swish! Swish!
Keeping his eye on the copy that was floating not far away from where he stood, Valyr soon returned to his usual expression as a great amount of energy manifested around the copied mind, swiftly conjuring a body that looked just like him.
However, before such a body could solidify and materialize, the body made out of energy soon underwent through multiple changes, eventually settling into the form that Valyr knew both Mystia and everyone else would immediately recognize.
His player self.
"...Hello, me." After obtaining confirmation from the skill that the process was now complete, Valyr looked at his player self for a bit before giving a greeting.
"Hello, me." Making use of the control [Soul Split] gave him, he then went ahead and did the same thing with his other body, which caused the two of them to grin at each other not long after.
"Who are you?"
"I... am you. Who are you?"
"I am also you."
"We are the one and the same, but also different in various ways."
"You can definitely say that again."
Finding a bit of delight and amusement in the ability to talk to himself from another person's perspective, Valyr efficiently made use of the limited time he had to refine his understanding and control over [Soul Split].
Unexpectedly, it did not take long for him to make a bit of leeway into it, only taking a few minutes at most to achieve small success in separating his thoughts and actions
into two bodies.
By the time around 15 minutes had passed since the skill's completion, Valyr was able to improve his control over the skill to the point he was now able to consistently have both bodies do separate things without relying on cues or anything.
'For now, I can only do conversations and a few simple actions that way, thought the young man to himself, deciding to set aside some time in the future to improve his control over the skill even further.
'However, since Mystia just wants to talk to both me and Ataraxia regarding the upcoming tournament, then that's more than enough!
Ding!
After having his player self do a few more movements to make sure he could pull off the next part of his conversation with Mystia successfully, Valyr went ahead and brought up a screen in front of him to see how long [Soul Split] would last.
"...Hmm." Looking through the screen's contents, Valyr eventually nodded as he inwardly let out a sigh of relief.
"Two hours, huh."
"That's plenty enough time to have another conversation after the first one."
"Apologics for having you come back here without much notice, Ataraxia," said Mystia,
her smile a mix of sincerity and apology as she moved another chair on the other side with the help of her energy.
"It's fine, Miss Mystia," said Ataraxia in response, giving her a slight smile in return before briefly glancing at the young man beside him.
As he controlled his player self to sit on the chair to the right, Valyr went ahead and made his way to the chair placed on the left, which caused him to unintentionally control his other self in a way that made both of them sit down at the same time.
'Fuck.
Thankfully, Mystia did not notice anything amiss with it whatsoever, continuing to look at the two with a smile on her face as she remained oblivious to what the two had
just done.
"Now, Ataraxia. Did your teacher fill you in on what he and I talked about while you
were gone?"
"Yeah." Ataraxia nodded as Valyr shifted his gaze between the two every once in a while. "If I remember what Teacher told me correctly, I'll be working with him in the tournament to obtain more information on the insider?"
"It's for the sake of redundancy and accuracy." Mystia nodded. "Then again, I pretty much made that suggestion in the off chance the alleged spy would make a move against the participants of the tournament."
"Naturally, that includes the two of you"
"Now that I think about it... you've yet to tell us where the tournament would be held,"

said Valyr after that, to which Ataraxia nodded in agreement.
"Aside from that, you've also yet to tell us when it would be held, as well as the
minimum requirements needed to enter it."
"Well, there's not much point in telling you the minimum requirements since you
already way past that," replied Mystia, rolling her eyes at Valyr before shifting her gaze
towards Ataraxia.
"However, for you, Ataraxia, you would need to reach the early levels of Rank 4 at the very least if you want to participate in the tournament."
"Understood." Ataraxia nodded, his eyes gradually turning wide as he realized how much of a difference there was between the two tournament's requirements. "As for where and when the tournament would be held." Nodding at Ataraxia's response, Mystia continued where she left off. "The tournament the two of you will be participating in will be held at Algerie Kingdom around three months from now." "Three months, huh?" Closing his eyes for a bit, Valyr eventually looked back at Mystia and gave her a nod of approval. "Yeah. That's more than enough time for Ataraxia to
get prepared."
"Of course, there's still one piece of information you two should need to know before the tournament begins," said Mystia after that, prompting both Ataraxia and Valyr to lean in a bit closer in response.
"The alleged spy themselves."
"Though you might think it's way too early for me to talk about it, informing you two about the alleged spy beforehand would give you the opportunity to obtain more specific information on them before the tournament begins," explained Mystia, to which the two faintly nodded in response.
"Who's the alleged spy, then?" asked Valyr, with Ataraxia looking at her with interest.
"Although the empire has only been able to narrow that down to three people, the
empire considers one of them to be the most likely spy for the other races that would
infiltrate the upcoming tournament."
"Erika Reveler Algerie."
"Also known by many people as the half-sister of the current king of Algerie Kingdom."
