Birth, adolescence, adulthood, rise, and fall.

These were the parts of a red wyvern's life that corresponded to the world raid's five paths.

As the red wyvern was still in the process of exploring and familiarizing with its surroundings after its birth, the path that corresponded to it was undoubtedly the easiest. On its path, most of the tasks one needed to fulfill either involved gathering items or exploring certain areas.

Then, as the red wyvern grew older, it would start to experiment with its abilities, gaining a rough idea of its strength as it began to ask itself one question.

Compared to the world around me, how strong am I?

Because of this, the path corresponding to adolescence began to involve battles here and there, as well as tasks that involved training skills up to certain levels.

Of course, there would eventually come a point where the red wyvern would become used to its strength, confident that it could make anyone and anything it fought bend to its own will.

At that point, the red wyvern would have reached the stage of adulthood, its strength more than enough to instill fear into the hearts of even the strongest of men.

Thanks to that, the path corresponding to it had tasks that were mostly similar to the path referencing adolescence. However, unlike the latter path, the path referencing adulthood also contained tasks that involved accumulating reputation.

As the red wyvern continued to accumulate a reputation of being a mighty beast, it eventually began to aim for something greater, for something more than it had already accomplished.

That part of the red wyvern's life… was its rise.

Aiming to reach the limits of what a red wyvern could achieve and transform into a true red dragon, the red wyvern did anything and everything it could in its power, causing the path that corresponded to it to deviate from the tasks available on the other paths.

Though tasks involving battle and training could still be obtained in this path, it was more likely for one to obtain tasks that had to do with experimentation on that path.

After all, transforming into a true red dragon was an evolution of life.

And with the red wyvern not having heard of another red wyvern successfully doing it, it was forced to trailblaze a path on its own, purely relying on trial and error to achieve its dreams.

In some of the versions of the world raid, the red wyvern would succeed in its attempts to become a true red dragon, causing the path that pertained to the final part of its life to be that of success.

In those cases, the final path would be considered the easiest path out of all, with the tasks being available on it mostly about revisiting and retracing the steps the red wyvern had taken to get to where it was.

However, in other versions, the red wyvern would instead realize near the end of its life that attempting to become a true red dragon was nothing but a pipe dream.

Because of that, the red wyvern would go on a rampage as an act of final defiance, destroying and annihilating everything in its path as a sort of middle finger to the heavens that forsook it.

In that scenario, the final path would become the hardest path to take in the world raid, with its tasks at least twice as difficult as the ones available to those tackling the path of the red wyvern's rise.

After all, what other fate would be worse for a red wyvern at the end of its life than to fall from heaven's grace?

'Though the tasks are more difficult than the fourth path, the rewards for completing such tasks more than make up for it,' thought Valyr to himself, recalling the conversation he had with Malutar on the world raid before the others arrived.

Naturally, it was through there that he found out what version of the world raid they were going to undetake, with SoaringSkies1's suggestion to have his guild tackle the hardest path more or less a lucky coincidence.

"Reconnaissance team, scout out the path ahead of us." With him and his guild members finally on their set path, Valyr quickly embodied his position as guild leader as he gave out orders in a calm and efficient manner.

"Once you receive a task from the path, make sure that at least one of you remains there while the others go ahead and receive the next tasks. Understood?"

"Yes, guild leader." Of course, wanting to obtain both the rewards from the world raid and the set of equipment Valyr promised them, every one of his guild members made sure to go above and beyond in the tasks given to them.

Swoosh!

With the reconnaissance team going ahead, Valyr and the other teams carefully advanced through the path, experiencing bits and pieces of the red wyvern's life after its untimely realization.

"We've received the first task, guild leader." Around 10 minutes later, the reconnaissance team sent a message to their guild chat, forcing Valyr and the others to shift their attention away from the memories for the experience.

Picking up their pace, the main group soon arrived at the spot where one of the reconnaissance team's members was standing.

"Thank goodness you're here, guild leader," said the reconnaissance member, her expression quickly turning into that of relief. "If you took just a bit longer to come here, we might have failed this task without even doing anything!"

"What do you mean?" asked Valyr, the others looking at the reconnaissance member with curious expressions.

"Well…" Twiddling her thumbs as she pondered over the best way to break the news, the reconnaissance member eventually decided to show the task she obtained to Valyr directly.

"Here."

"Hmm?" Raising his eyebrow as he laid his eyes upon the screen, the young man swiftly became silent as he continued to read the screen's contents.

By the time he was done, he let out a faint sigh before turning to look at all the other members that accompanied him.

"Now, before I talk about the task we got…"

"Who here has experience with trash talking?"
