MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith-Chapter 1468: Myriad Prodigies: Second Round - Ataraxia (5)
"…What the fuck do we do?"
Sensing the genuine killing intent contained within Valyr's aura, Pasuay felt a slight sense of fear as he sent Coulet a telepathic message through a skill they shared.
"The fuck do I know?" replied Coulet, looking back at him with slight indignation. "You're the one who thought it was a good idea to egg him on!"
At those words, Pasuay briefly thought back to the time the next five batches for the second round were being formed.
Being one of the first to come up to the surface, both he and Coulet immediately made themselves known to be the strongest within the 262nd batch, releasing their entire auras every once in a while.
Unsurprisingly, almost everyone that came after them in their batch immediately accepted the fact that the two of them would become their leaders. After all, who would be better suited to lead them into the fray if not the strongest of them?
However, rather than accept the position of leader, the two decided to dismiss it instead, thinking that it would be better for them to mess around once their attempt at the second round began.
After all, it was only through that method would they be able to see something more interesting than just coordinated fighting.
With that, the two showed no hesitation in arguing with one another in front of the others, making the others believe that they were truly fighting over who would lead the entire batch while fighting their respective beast.
Eventually, that all changed once Valyr came up to their batch, which prompted both of them to change the plan that they had in mind somehow.
Because of their intent of making the situation more interesting for them, the batch of 100 participants was split into two groups that was made of the majority and the minority.
Naturally, the majority was on guard of the minority's meddling, especially considering that their performance directly correlated to their chances of proceeding onto the third round.
Eventually, their attempt at the second round began, with the majority moving as intended to maximize the amount of exposure they had in front of the judges.
From Valyr's commanding of the vanguard, to the defense and the subsequent counterattack to the serpent's energy bolts, both Pasuay and Coulet felt that the young man was the ideal example for both fighters and commanders.
Unfortunately, with them still wanting to make their original intentions a reality, the two went ahead and interrupted the young man's attack before it could land, causing the current situation to arise.
At first, they thought the young man was only slightly stronger than the two of them, thinking back to the aura he released just before they entered the platform.
However, once Valyr forwent his defenses and went all out, it was only then did they realize…
They had chosen to reveal their intentions on the worst target possible.
"Power of flames, hear my plea."
"As your conductor, blaze my foe into ashes."
"[Fireball]."
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Continuing to keep an eye on both Pasuay and Coulet, Valyr sent orb after orb of flame at the serpent, aiming them at the areas where the other members of their batch weren't attacking.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"Hissss…!!!"
Unsurprisingly, this caused the serpent to become incensed, especially since each fireball made it feel a far greater amount of pain than it thought it did.
Focusing its ruby-like eyes on the young man, the serpent began to counterattack once more, sweeping its tail across the members of the duo's group as it sent out yet another barrage of bolts.
Whoosh!

Shifting his gaze towards the two after glancing at the serpent's counterattack, Valyr faintly shook his head at them before proceeding to pin them to the ground with Mystic Energy.
Swoosh! Swoosh!
"Wha—!"
Not expecting the young man to use a skill on them, both Pasuay and Coulet were caught off guard, their entire bodies forced to the ground under what looked like thin strands of iridescent energy.
Though they knew that they were in the wrong for interrupting Valyr's attack, the two had no plans of taking the young man's punishment to them lying down.
"You don't know who you're messing with…" muttered Pasuay, flaring his aura as he activated a couple of buffing skills he'd been saving up.
"We're not Special-grade Executioners for no reason!" said Coulet, doing the same thing as Pasuay as the two started to resist the binding put on them.
However, just as they were on the verge of breaking away from the iridescent strands…
"Suppress."
Not wanting any interruptions from the two whatsoever, Valyr sent yet another command to the Mystic Energy surrounding them, fortifying the binding on their bodies while also sapping away their strength at the same time.
"…!"
Feeling as if their attempts at breaking the binds were all for naught, the two looked on at Valyr with a slight sense of helplessness, realizing then and there that Valyr was still being nice to them thus far.
Sadly, with them egging him on to do his worst, the two became the targets he set his sights on the moment he decided to do so, causing both Pasuay and Coulet to feel regret for their actions.
"[Fireball]."
With the interruption of the two now being guaranteed not to happen, Valyr went ahead and sent orders to the members of his group, asking half to buff everyone with skills while having the other half accompany him in retaliating against the serpent's attack.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
Confident that their attacks wouldn't be interrupted anymore, the other members of Valyr's group went all out in their skills, matching the young man in terms of ferocity as they destroyed all of the energy bolts the serpent sent at them.
Feeling a hint of danger from the barrage of attacks its opponents were sending out, the serpent decided to increase the distance between them as it continued to send out a barrage of bolts at them.
However, with Valyr in what was his current strongest state, he calmly stared at the serpent for a bit before uttering the same command he used on both Pasuay and Coulet mere moments earlier.
"Bind."
