Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss-Chapter 136 | Vampire Noble Assimilation
A couple of hours later, Alastair returned to the penthouse with a shackled and beaten-up Vampire Noble in her grasp. She carried him like a stray cat, usually violent but now docile.
"Took you quite a while, Miss Alastair." Francine sat on the sofa, sipping on her wine as the others watching the television turned their gaze towards their boss.
"There's not much I could do about the lack of Nobles in the Federation. It appears that most of them had been called back by the Clan."
"I only managed to snatch this one. But this Vampire Noble should be enough. After all, the guy didn't give up resisting until I crippled his body a dozen times."
"Prideful, stubborn, and dumb. The perfect suspect for the assassination." Alastair smirked at the Vampire Noble who remained unconscious.
She released the neck of the Noble, causing him to collapse onto the floor with a resounding thud. Damien stood up and stretched his arms upward while yawning.
"Looks like it's time."
To create the perfect suspect, there must be a motive. A reason as to why he assassinated the President. Naturally, there was no way Block 7 would trust a vampire in such matters.
Instead, it was better to take control of the Noble's body through neurophage. The assimilation of this Extraterrestrial Monster was divided into three phases.
The first phase was mental assimilation. The second phase was physical assimilation. The last and third phase was complete assimilation.
The final assimilation would result in the target becoming a part of Neurophage. Knowledge, power, dreams, and perception. The Extraterrestrial Monster would consume all.
For the Vampire Noble in front of him...
Damien walked towards the unconscious Vampire Noble and summoned the Neurophage. Complete assimilation was unnecessary.
The only thing he wanted was to override the Nobles' mental faculty. Nothing more, nothing less.
"He has an interesting Blood Technique, Miss Alastair. Related to that of ice... I must say, good pick." Damien gave his boss a thumbs-up after realizing the Vampire Noble's power.
Deaths caused by Yuki would be related to cold, no matter how much she tries to lessen the effect of her nature. Since the Vampire Noble's Blood Technique was comparable to ice.
He was the perfect suspect they could control to frame the Clan for the entire ordeal. Not only would it take care of the infiltrator, but it would also take the Federation off their tails.
News about the President being assassinated by the Clan would scatter in mere moments. The Federation would practically unite under a single banner.
After all, the fact that the Clan could assassinate the President even with the protection of Block 1 meant that they weren't safe even when far from the southern frontier.
The politicians would push for the defense and mobilize the Federal Military alongside the SIGIL to confront the besieging Clan.
"I wouldn't just pick some random mutt from the streets," Alastair smirked, crossing her arms, her pearl-like eyes radiating arrogance.
In any case, a storm of black dust surfaced from the walls and entered the unconscious body of the Vampire Noble. Everyone watched, curious about the sight.
Except for Hecate, of course, who had already seen what the Neurophages were capable of doing.
As the Neurophages entered every orifice of the Vampire Noble's body, the first phase began. It was the mental assimilation. Whether it'd be memories, mannerisms, hobbies, or intricate behavior.
All would be devoured by the Extraterrestrial Monster.
The Vampire Noble twitched as Alastair raised her eyebrows, intrigued, while Francine pondered the possibilities the Neurophages contained. Its potential for Block 7 wasn't to be underestimated.
After all, when dealing with problems, there were times when death wasn't the best of answers. The answer they wanted was to acquire subordinate organizations.
Force would only be effective against those who were logical. To the prideful and stubborn bastards? They were a ticking time bomb.
However, through the Neurophages, these ticking time bombs would be no more. The thought alone made the gorgeous lady smile; her golden-tinted eyeglasses glinted as she slightly chuckled to herself.
Hecate and Echidna looked at one another, deciding to ignore their senior. It was better to not disturb her; otherwise, things could become troublesome.
In any case, the mental assimilation of the Neurophages promptly concluded. The unconscious Vampire Noble opened his eyelids and looked around.
His body immediately shivered as though he was being stared at by powerful predators. He wasn't wrong with this thinking. After all, Block 7 was strong.
"Did it work?" Alastair tilted her head and noticed that the Vampire Noble hadn't changed much. Damien's lips curved into a subtle smile, and he snapped his fingers.
"Greeting, Master." The Necrophages took over the Vampire Noble, as if he were a sleeper agent whose Damien's snap could activate.
"It has been a while since we worked together, Neurophages."
"I believe that you have already assimilated the memories of the Vampire Noble," Damien remarked as the Extraterrestrial Monster nodded in agreement.
"Indeed, the memories of this individual have been consumed." The Vampire Noble nodded in agreement, its eyes blanked.
"Damn, interesting... It feels like a Mind-Control Brand." Alastair muttered under her breath, placing a finger below her chin. On the other hand, Francine stepped closer.
Her sapphire-like gaze was scrutinizing as she observed any changes from the Vampire Noble. Not much had changed. Even their boss was intrigued.
"Any interesting memories you have in mind?" Damien inquired with a grin while the Vampire Noble pondered for a second. It then shook its head.
"Apologies, Master. There are no interesting memories in this subject's mind. However, there is a vault within its mindscape. I believe that secrets are hidden behind its doors."
Hearing the words of the Vampire Noble, Damien raised his eyebrows and promptly shook his head. "Don't bother opening it."
"Whoever made that vault must be a high-ranking Vampire in the Clan. Perhaps, it might even be the Progenitor themselves. We cannot compromise our operation."
His reasoning was sound. Alastair and Francine nodded in agreement. Even though they were intrigued by the so-called memory vault, they needed to complete the assassination.
Until then... It was better to focus their efforts on a single task rather than multiple.
"Regardless of that, are you aware of the assassination operation?" Damien questioned, to which the Vampire Noble nodded. "Yes, the Clan will be framed using this body as the suspect."
"By utilizing Yuki's frost, the Federation will misunderstand the Vampire Noble as the culprit of the assassination."
"The only thing needed to be done is get near enough and escape, leaving tracks of the Clan behind for the Block 1 to pursue."
The Neurophages didn't require debriefing as it was already up-to-date with the assassination operation they had in mind.
Members of Block 7 recognized the Neurophages' intelligence. It wasn't to be underestimated. The capabilities it grasped might rival the brightest in the New World.
Amongst the juniors, Echidna was also interested in the Neurophages. As long as she could properly utilize it, the Federation's Underworld could fall into the hands of Block 7.
After taking her time pondering about the Neurophages, Francine calmly uttered. "The assassination operation will start tomorrow."
"We will be divided into three teams. One will be near the New White House, managing the Vampire Noble. Others would be with Damien, driving along a nearby city. Finally, Alastair would provide their alibi."
Everyone nodded in agreement, prepared for what was about to come.
Damien watched his status display, its bluish glow reflected from his face. Once again, his Terror Points had increased. The Paranormal Monster Investment was worth it.
