Monster Gacha System: Becoming The Final Boss-Chapter 149 | Reinforcing True Bloods
As the Griffin made its landing onto the devastated southern castle gate of the northernmost city. Damien and Hecate hopped off its feathered mane, observing the destruction that surrounded them.
"Your monsters are much more thorough than I expected. They flattered everything within a mile radius." The crimson-haired vampire remarked, smirking at her partner.
"Well, they are hardworking and loyal subordinates." Damien loomed over her and stared at the devastation left behind by the monster onslaught.
"Quite some subordinates you have there... If I had that power, I wouldn't have to move a single muscle and let them handle everything for me." Hecate could only dream of having subordinates of her own.
Before he could utter a response, reality flickered as a gorgeous ghost lady materialized from nothing. Her voluptuous body was embraced by a white yukata, yet a slit settled in between her pale legs.
It was none other than Yuki, the second-smartest monster under his command, only slightly below the Proton. But she ranked higher within his mind.
After all, she had a human-like appearance and was beautiful.
"The remnants of the Vanguard Army have been taken care of, Lord Oberon." She lightly bowed, her movements gentle and refined.
Damien smiled at her and patted her ghostly head. "Thank you for the assistance, Yuki. I appreciate it."
She was akin to a secretary to him, capable of managing the monster army so that they would be able to act without relying too much on his orders.
"I am honored to be of the lord's grace... The same offer stands, Master." Yuki faded into a subtle mist, vacating the plane of reality.
On the other hand, Damien was astounded when she spoke of that offer on the rooftop of the Third Division Headquarters. His sable-tinted gaze narrowed as he recognized her bold approach.
"Hey, what does offer mean exactly?" Hecate glanced at her partner, curious about what the ghost lady meant.
He quickly changed the subject through a single reply. "Yuki wants to help me adapt better in my current form. In any case, we'd better prepare ourselves."
"After all, the True Bloods are not far away."
She was successfully diverted from that conversation, turning her crimson eyes towards the blurred horizon. She wasn't that nervous about fighting a True Blood.
After all, she has grown since she escaped from that facility. Not only had she able to properly utilize her Blood Technique, but she also integrated properly with her second bloodline, the Demonia.
In simpler terms, she was a potent hybrid. Perhaps, the one and only in the New World. In terms of strength and capability, of course.
The problem, however, comes from the fact that more than two True Bloods might reinforce the fallen northernmost settlement of the Clan.
Her partner would have to face two or more True Bloods if that did happen. But fortunately, his monster-summoning capabilities assured his safety.
It gave him the ability to balance the structure of the battle.
Well, instead of worrying about things she couldn't control. Better prepare herself for the confrontation that was about to come.
If she defeated a True Blood as quick as possible, that would have been for the best. By then, she would be able to reinforce Damien and relieve some of his pressure.
On the other hand, Damien sighed in relief after the subject was punctually altered. He didn't want the discussion to reach that level yet. Besides, the bold Yuki was for him to handle.
Though there was something he wondered about the Paranormal Monster. Was her boldness the result of the evolution?
Or was it because of his transformation?
His appearance resembled the models of what humans could look like if they reached their complete potential. They wouldn't be entirely wrong about that.
After all, his potential had been unraveled by the transformation.
In any case, he would have to take care of the ghost lady. Although he was confused as to why she started offering her body. The changes on his body also created a peculiar effect.
His vitality was overflowing. As a result, his repressed desires were being released from their shackles. It would take time for them to be chained once again.
But it wasn't bad to indulge some of his desires. He wasn't a robot who merely used his body as a tool. Because it wasn't a machine.
Regardless, however... That was for the future him to handle. For now, the incoming True Bloods must be taken care of.
"Get ready, Hecate." Damien furrowed his eyebrows as hazy silhouettes emerged from the horizon. There were three of them, each radiating power capable of rivalling a Paragon.
The crimson-haired vampire relaxed her body as her velvet gaze narrowed at the individuals in the distance. "Not as strong as I expected..."
She remarked, earning the curious glance of her partner.
Hecate wasn't wrong about that conjecture, but the trouble didn't come from their strength. It originated from their numbers.
Marquis January, Marquis February, and Marquis April stood before the adversaries that devastated the Vanguard Army.
The Clan didn't expect the Federation to attack first. But after they realized it was Block 7, everything became clear. Of the entire SIGIL, only the Seventh Division was bold enough to do such a thing.
"Between the two of them, the giant human is much more dangerous. I'll handle the traitor." Marquis January stepped forward, his crimson gaze looking down upon Hecate.
In their eyes, she was nothing more than a foolish betrayer. She deserved nothing more than swift death. Even then, it was merciful compared to what they would have done to traitors.
Marquis February and Marquis April nodded in understanding, turning their eyes towards the Aberrant who allied themselves to humanity.
They didn't understand why he had done such a thing. After all, in terms of benefits, the Clan could provide better than the Federation.
But whatever the reason was, it didn't matter anymore. The Aberrant must be eliminated. Otherwise, the invasion into the Federation wouldn't even reach the outskirts of the southern frontier.
"Be careful, it has already been confirmed that he killed Marquis March when destroying the northern strongholds." Marquis January warned them of the danger he posed.
Damien wasn't merely a nuisance to them; his existence was closing in on the same summit as the strongest of humanity. If they couldn't handle him without relying on the progenitor.
Their worst fears would be confirmed.
Until then, killing the Aberrant was a priority. Unfortunately, the traitorous hybrid was partnered with him. Otherwise, they could have ganged up together and increased their chances of disposing of him.
"The two of us are different from that warring bastard."
In their eyes, Marquis March was someone who loved to fight against opponents regardless of whether they were his allies or not. His Blood Technique Microcosm reflected his personality well.
He wanted to fight a duel against his opponents and defeat them with his power, without utilizing any third-party opportunities or tricks.
The mere prospect was astounding for both Marquis February and Marquis April. After all, when the situation requires. They wouldn't hesitate to use whatever advantages they had.
If they had to work together to defeat an adversary, they would double-team their opponents without hesitation or delay.
At any rate, Damien noticed the changes in the three True Bloods. It seems that the tall one would be fighting against his partner. The other two would gang up on him.
Fighting against True Bloods was dangerous, but he was also excited to see how much he had changed.
He stared at his status display for one last time, gazing upon his Skill Index where rows of skills dwelled.
