Monster Integration (Web Novel)-Chapter 3767 Challenger
Thud!
I didn't have to wait for long. Four minutes and seventeen seconds later, a green-haired woman appeared in front of me.
She is a half-human. She looked completely human, except for the crystalline hair.
She is a tall woman, slightly taller than me, with a lithe figure. She has a small button nose and wide lips with vibrant eyes, but in it, I see the same burning battle spirit, I had seen in others of her realm.
Her aura is saying she is an Earth Sovereign, but it is hard to distinguish her level. Her aura is going high and low every second.
Usually this serious sign of instability, but in her case, it is very much controlled.
"You won't be letting me leave, without a battle, will you?" I asked. "No," she replied with a smile.
Which is kind of beautiful and reminded me of the professor.
"Fine. It will mercy duel and will last for ten minutes," I said, to which she grinned and the red ring on her finger lit up. Covering us with a massive dome; to others, we will be fully invisible.
Though, those who could sense it will know enough to simply walk away.
The dome had just appeared when the small blood tear came out of her temple and her whole armor turned red.
"I hope you will be powerful enough to last for five minutes," she said and disappeared from her place.
She appeared in front of me, with her expression serious and long ax in hand, which she swung toward me.
Burst 100%!
Her attack looks simple, with faint red energies covering it, but it is far from simple. I, without hesitation, activated the full burst and a real great sword appeared in my hand, which I swung toward her.
CLANNNG!
My sword clashed against her green ax. It was a powerful attack without a doubt, and it shook me, and I am not the only one.
She shook it too, and that seemed to surprise her.
"I might not get disappointed with the battle in this battle after all," she said and grinned, before attacking again, while I moved my sword to defend.
I was unwilling to fight, but now my heart started to beat wildly.
These people of blood-sun are the best. Each brimming with power and potential. They also have skills to use that power with amazing control and experience to use it with deadly skill.
CLANNNG!
I didn't say anything and instead focused on the fighting. She is amazing; I could tell it already and I want to beat her.
Though it wouldn't be easy.
I didn't want it easy; I wanted the challenge. There are not many people in the Sovereign who could face me, but every one of these people from blood-sun could.
Each one of them reached grade 4 at their level. They won't level up out of their level if they don't. It is not a rule, but a condition every person walked out of the blood-sun realm follows.
To gain such strength and experience, to use it as proficiently as possible.
CLANNNG CLANNNG CLANNNG
Our weapons clashed while everything besides the dome was destroyed. The dome is powerful enough that even if I used every bit of my strength, I wouldn't be able to make a ripple on it.
Only Sky Sovereigns might be able to do that.
"You are good, but are you good enough to contend against it," she said and the red energy around her ax turned shimmering.
Immediately, the heavy aura begins to radiate from the ax, while at the same time, its speed increased.
The change in my counter was not flashy. Aside from the energies around, the sword becomes denser and the speed of the sword faster.
Though not as fast as her ax. It is an attack, while I am defending. I didn't need to match her speed. I just need enough speed to not let her ax evade my sword.
She tried, and I have to say nearly succeeded. She is skillful as well as powerful, with a plethora of abilities. If I am not careful, I will lose this fight, before I can give even a single wound to her.
CLANNNNG!
I stopped her ax, and a small smile appeared on her serious face. The battle spirit in her eyes also burned brighter as she attacked again, with faster speed and more power.
Our weapons clashed again and again and again.
She is on the offensive while I am on the complete defensive.
I am not just defending against her attacks, but also studying her movements, her energy, and the slightest change in them.
She is really good, and I hate to admit it, but ten minutes is far from enough to study her, and I am not willing to get help from the clones.
It will take all the fun from this duel, which I am enjoying quite a lot.
We are fighting like chess players, studying each other. Looking for the openings and laying the trap. What makes it amazing is that the enemy is really good, keeping me on my toes every moment.
In front of her, I couldn't make a single mistake, or she would exploit the hell out of it. I don't want to give her that chance.
"You are the best defensive fighter. I had fought in this prime world," she praised. It is a truth, I could see it in her eyes, but also the trap.
"You are not so bad, yourself," I replied to which she smiled and disappeared in shimmering red mist before appearing behind me and attacking with her mist.
CLANNNNG!
"You will have to do much better than that," I said. She had just smiled and turned into a shimmer red smoke, before appearing in front of me.
She kept doing that while I defended. I become extra vigilant; I feel like she is doing something, and I have to know what it is before she makes loose this battle.
Rip!
I had just thought that when her ax moved fast, avoiding my sword and hitting my shoulder. She was aiming for my chest, but I was able to dodge in time.
Still, the injury isn't light. She has sent a massive amount of energy into me. Which were immediately sealed.
"Nice," I replied, and she smiled.
I understood how she did it and couldn't help, but feel impressed by it. It is a mixture of skill, method and some optical illusion.
Something which could only be learned through the experience.
"Thanks," she replied and went for another attack. I defend against it and then another. I am not going to give her a chance to launch such an attack again and she didn't try it.
She understood such methods could only be used once. After that, the opponent becomes alert.
I didn't change my fighting style despite getting an injury. I kept defending against her attacks.
Soon, five minutes passed, and her attack became intense. Her fighting style is also chance, from stability and weight. It had changed to speed and accuracy, and in this too, she was as flawless as before.
I begin to enjoy the battle.
It always feels good when the opponent is powerful and smart like hers. She is also calm; I didn't see even a hint of irritation and anger in her eyes.
She is better than the last person from the blood-sun.
He was powerful, and skilled, but didn't have a strong state of mind as this woman in front of me.
It is really important for the practitioner.
Our life is a rollercoaster of events. One might be harvesting the treasures from the ruin. Next few minutes, we might be fighting a life-and-death battle against those who want those treasures.
Even I am not as good as her.
I hope I will become one as soon as her. However, it is going to take a lot of time, if it ever happens.
I am not in a hurry. One thing I have learned in my years of experience is that one shouldn't rush things when one can wait for them.
They make things worse rather than improving them.
I looked at the woman, who had now enveloped herself in a red cloak. It had made her movements hard to follow. I didn't hesitate to activate my abilities while continuing to defend against her attacks.
Seconds passed and her attacks came close to landing on me. One time, there was less than a centimeter of distance.
She is studying me as I am studying her and using that data, crafting her attacks. They are good, but I was barely able to defend against them on time.
Seconds passed and once again, my sword moved to defend against her ax, but something different happened.
Rip!
My sword slid past her ax and gave her a cut across the waist. It was as light as what she had given me, but it made her eyes widen.
