Most Powerful Entity in Academy-Chapter 46: Gabriel the Archangel
I’m staring at the divine woman in front of me.
The divinity around Gabriel was greater than any god I’ve ever seen...
In the game, if you came to this church and entered certain words, an angel would appear before you.
Your good deeds played a huge role in which angel you summoned.
In short, an easter egg.
If you asked the angel any question, it would answer you... cryptically.
In return, you had to pay a price.
The price changes according to what answer you asked, and how powerful you are....
I look at Gabriel, who’s glaring at me angrily. "What do you think I might have come for, Gabriel?"
"Yes, the enemy of God and religion wants the answer to his question," said Gabriel, hovering in the air.
I sighed. "You know I could destroy you, right? Are you still going to float there, acting all mighty? For you to know, I am not an enemy of religion or god."
Gabriel looked annoyed but descended.
"Are you expecting me to be kind to God’s enemies?" said Gabriel.
I stare into her eyes, which look like she could draw a sword and kill me any second.
"Yes..."
Silence fell.
Even she didn’t expect me to be this shameless.
"My question is this: who told Seraphine von Valentine that she knows who I really am..."
Gabriel radiated an even greater light. "Well, mortal—" I stopped her before she could speak.
"I’m immortal, so don’t call me mortal. My name is Raul." Our eyes locked.
Sparks could fly from our eye contact at any moment.
Angels think very highly of themselves.
"Fine, Raul. I can tell you, but it will be in the form of a prophecy, and you have to pay the price according to what god wants."
I waved my hand. "Go on."
Gabriel cleared her throat.
"O poor guilty man.
Don’t you know that your distrust opens the door to more distrust?
When that day comes, the guilty will lose what they value.
When the executioner’s cloth is lifted, his face will be seen.
Will the guilty cry out then?
But nothing done escapes God’s eyes.
There is one path before you: either you will betray, or your loved ones will die.
God will show mercy to the guilty man and guide him, according to what he does." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
With every revelation, my eyes grew wider.
I am suspicious right now.
What the hell do I have to understand from this?
Gabriel finished speaking...
Every time she spoke, I could feel the laws of the world bending...
"Did you understand, Raul?" she said, narrowing her eyes.
I didn’t interrupt her words. "This is a very exaggerated executioner metaphor for my enemy, but what’s with the guilty man? Am I guilty?"
"Yes, you are..." said Gabriel, making my jaw drop.
The sound of dripping water from the church ceiling could be heard.
Silence is too loud....
I didn’t know Angel could cook someone like that.
"This is big information. You have to pay the price, right?"
I nodded because this was the harrowing part in the game.
Gabriel looked up, waiting for a message from God, but her face remained empty. "As you wish, my Lord," she said and bowed.
A price dedicated to God.
"God has asked me to watch over you. The duration is unknown." When everything was over, I blinked a few times.
What the hell is this? "Dove, how are you really going to follow me around?"
"Like this," she said, came in front of me, placed her hand on my chest, and vanished.
"Sound check 1 2 3," said Gabriel. I was hearing a voice inside my head.
I was barely holding back my laughter. "Yes, there’s a pigeon in my head. Don’t talk too much, or I’ll make that famous dish called Florence pigeon roast right now."
I know Gabriel is annoyed inside my head...
"What are those sealed memories in your head?" said Gabriel.
She must be examining my brain. "That’s my secret information. Things no one can know except God himself. Don’t mess with it or you’ll become a fallen angel," I said.
I can feel Gabriel’s emotions; the threat of becoming a fallen angel is like execution for her.
But this was my mental defense; I don’t want someone messing with it.
I had set it up for situations like this.
All the information about my previous world and those old gods was there...
I sighed. "May your greatness spread more to the world, my God," and bowed.
"Amen," said Gabriel.
I slowly turned around and walked out of the church. "Ah, a church built in a beautiful place," I said and looked at the lake.
I looked at my reflection.
I see a small yellow dot in my eyes.
"There was no need for that yellow dot, Gabriel."
"No, there was," she said, and she was kind of right.
It was necessary to share the vision.
I quickly returned to the academy city.
I was hearing the laughter and giggles of students around.
"Gabriel, want to do something crazy with me?"
"Are you going to do sin again?"
"I’ll take that as a yes." I have an archangel in my head.
So she had to pay rent, and the rent would be witnessing the crazy things I do.
Thus began the story of a sinner and an archangel...
The madness of Raul is something even angels cannot handle.
She will learn about that later, and she will regret it.
(Friends, I wrote a lot about religion, but in a world where religion is important, this is necessary. As you noticed, the God figure used in the novel here is a hybrid of the Apocryphal Bible and the Quran. At least you know that in the Apocryphal Bible, Jesus said he was just a prophet. The point is, writing this makes me research insanely. Don’t forget to join the Discord channel and give suggestions for world-building or the novel. Leave me a review and comment too.)
