Mountain Sitting Immortal-Chapter 234: Risk It All.
Lady Vena agreed with what he said with a nod. Then she said, "Your reputation will also prevent the vast majority of people from causing trouble for you in the test anymore."
He raised his eyebrow when he heard that. Then he asked, "Only a vast majority?"
She nodded and said, "There will always be others who want to resist for one reason or another. They might do it out of jealousy or just to see if your reputation is not an exaggeration. Seeing as your reputation has been exaggerated so badly, there will surely be people who don't believe it."
He chuckled when he heard that. Then he smashed his gauntlet-equipped fists against each other and said, "Let them come then."
The two of them stood on the ship overlooking the people below. Meanwhile, the test continued.
The test didn't finish until two months later. After that came the fourth test.
The fourth test was to be the last test. This caused an uproar among the people. After all, this was the last chance for anyone who wanted to be accepted into a sect to reach the top 50,000.
Information about the test was released to the public a week before the test. Even the rules of the test were released ahead of the test so that people could plan.
It was stated that no one would be protected in the fourth test. So anyone who intends to participate in it should be ready to risk their lives.
The fourth test was to be a survival test. The goal was to earn points in the test while they struggled to survive to the end of the test. There was no opportunity to surrender. Once examinees go in, they either survive to the end or die during the test.
The test wasn't compulsory, which is a good thing considering how dangerous it sounded. But few people wanted to opt out of it.
Of the five million who came to participate in the examination, about one million people chose to give up. These 1 million people had seen how they fared in the third test when they had to compete with other examinees for beasts and for points.
Their performance wasn't flattering when they only had to compete with 1,000 people. Now that they would be in an open world with tens of thousands of people, they chose to give up when they had the chance.
As for the rest that chose to remain, it was because there was a rule that stated that all the performance points that were earned by killing a participant in the game could be earned.
This meant that someone could kill Arthur Red Mane and earn all of his points. Then they would reach the first position instantly.
These four million people who decided to participate in the test couldn't resist such an opportunity. They wanted to risk it all to change their fate.
FOURTH TEST: The Survival Game.
OBJECTIVE: Earn points by killing beasts and other examinees.
RULE 1: This test is a test of power, decision-making, risk management, and luck. Examinees will be dropped in a forest with 100,000 others where they will have to survive until the end of the test while earning points.
RULE 2: The test will last for 7 days. There will be no surrender. Defeat means death.
RULE 3: The forest will be full of beasts and other examinees. The beast will be of various types, shapes, and strengths. Everyone and everything can be killed. Points will be earned for each kill.
RULE 4: The points that will be earned for killing other examinees are equal to their total performance points. The beasts will also earn the total performance points of examinees that they kill.
RULE 5: The points that will be earned for killing beasts are equal to how many points they have accumulated from killing examinees and their base points.
RULE 6: The base point of beasts is dependent on their power. There will be beasts at the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth transformations, each worth a base point of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, and 500 base points.
RULE 7: Every being in the arena possesses rings of light above their heads. These rings represent how many performance points will be earned for killing a beast or eliminating an examinee.
RULE 8: The rings of light represent 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, and so on and so forth. They correlate to one ring, two rings, three rings, four rings, five rings, six rings, and so on. The more rings of light an examinee possesses, the more attractive they are to beasts and the higher they are on the priority kill list for the beasts.
RULE 9: 100% of the points of a beast will be earned when it is killed, and 100% of the total points of an examinee will be earned by the person who eliminates them.
RULE 10: The points you earn in this test will be relevant in your evaluation for the entire examination. You can also use your points to exchange for cultivation techniques after the examination if you fail to gain admission into a sect.
RULE 11: This is the last test for this round of the regional sect examination. It is not compulsory to attend.
GOOD LUCK.
Arthur read the rules and chuckled. Then he said, "This is indeed enticing. I can see why a lot of people want to risk it all."
One thing that he noticed from reading the rules is that unlike the previous third test, beasts can earn points from killing examinees too. That will make them more valuable the more examinees they kill.
So an examinee doesn't need to kill a lot of other examinees or a lot of beasts. All they need to do to soar to the sky in one step is to kill one beast that has killed a lot of other examinees.
Such a thing is enticing. But it comes at a great cost.
