Beta Damien stopped hugging me. He stared at me, and probably seeing my stunned face, he turned away from me as he faked a cough, with the top of his fist covering his mouth.

"Sorry for being inappropriate, Alpha Anastasia". He apologized to me, but I knew he was hiding something from me.

There was no way the beta Damien I knew would hug me out of nowhere.

So, I was tempted and unblocked my mind reading power. Reading his mind twice was not a bad deal after all;

’Would she find it weird if I told her that I was the little wolf she had saved? Back then, I was so bent on and focused on chasing off all the rogue werewolves who were preying on our shadows’ pack. I chased them all the way to the human cities, but their other members ambushed me and I got injured fighting twenty of them at once’.

’I killed them all. But after I left the fighting scene, I found myself outside Mountain Filiosha where I passed out. I stayed there for who knows how long, until her presence awakened me, and she took me back with her. Unlike other werewolves, when I get badly injured in my wolf form, I become smaller’.

’No way. So beta Damien was that wolf I had saved?!’. I thought to myself and could not believe it.

I cleared my throat. "Em, is there something you are forgetting to tell me about?". I purposely asked him.

Just like I didn’t tell him that I was the child of destruction, I also didn’t want to tell him that I was able to read people’s minds.

"I was the one who brought you back to the hotel. I didn’t know how you ended up in...". He paused to talk.

Although that was not the answer I expected. I expected him to tell me with his own mouth that he was the little wolf.

Anyway, I didn’t like the way he paused talking. It seemed like he wanted to say something important but stopped.

"I trusted you and told you my secrets, beta Damien. So now, tell me the truth. Finish what you wanted to say to me". I said to him.

It was an order, judging by how strict my voice turned.

Beta Damien sighed. He had this look on his face. Like, he didn’t want me to know about something. But the look on his face only made me become more curious about what he was hiding from me.

"Say it". I said to him.

"I found you at your aunt’s mansion". He replied to me, and my eyes darkened on their own and I later found myself clenching my fists and gritting my teeth.

Thinking about that, I felt my blood boiling with rage. "How the heck did I end up there, beta Damien?". I asked him, and my iris must have glowed redder.

"I don’t know. I found you there unconscious. So I figured out that you were unconscious when they found you. If not, you wouldn’t have allowed them to take you to their mansion".

"You are correct, beta Damien. I fell unconscious after I used one of my terrifying powers to heal the Lycan King". "Wait, did you just say ’their?’. It can’t be only my aunty you are talking about, right?". I asked him when I realized.

"Your aunty has two sons. They are twins and are your half brothers". Beta Damien said to me, making me become puzzled.

"I have brothers?". I muttered and didn’t know what to feel.

’What?! That wicked sister betrayer gave birth to sons for my father?!’. Elektra roared, and I felt her strong emotion not only within me but outside of me.

My eyes glowed and didn’t stop glowing, thanks to Elektra’s rage.

I took a deep breath.

I should ignore them. Yes, I should just ignore them and leave this city.

"Beta Damien, I think it’s time we left the human city and returned to our pack. But before that, I want to stare at my parents’ faces for a while. After the moon goddess gave birth to me, before all that crazy stuff that happened with Luna Allegra, the moon goddess left me in this human city and anonymously gave me to a couple who could not have any children of their own".

I continued, "Although my human parents lied to me almost all my life and made me think that I was their biological child, I missed them so much after I fully became Anastasia. I have to see them, but in secret, because I can’t tell them the truth about myself".

"I am greatly tempted to tell them about me... to tell them that I was alive. But, I don’t want them to get involved with any strange things concerning my existence. It is my way of keeping them safe. Knowing too much about me might put them in danger one day. Or getting involved with me might put them in danger one day".

"And unlike you, Damien, I don’t think they can handle the truth". I concluded.

When beta Damien began to say to me, Fireball and Irving returned to their human forms, "I respect your choice, Alpha Anastasia. But, how sure are you that they can’t handle the truth?".

His question instantly got stuck in my head.

It wasn’t enough. I also began to relive the scene I saw yesterday in my head. The haggard looks on both my parents’ faces, and the miserable state they were in.

It’s been many weeks since I died. Even months. But judging by what I saw yesterday, they haven’t moved on.

I am afraid they might start getting weird thoughts if I do nothing about it.

"You are wise, beta Damien. I should tell my parents that I am alive, but I should warn them to keep it a secret". I said to him with a smile. It would be unfilial of me to leave my parents in that miserable state.

They might have hidden the truth that they weren’t my true parents, but I think they must have done that because they were afraid to lose me.

Irrespective of that, they have treated me very well. If the moon goddess didn’t tell me the truth about what happened, I would never have found out or guessed that my parents weren’t actually my real parents.

"Mama, are we going to return to our pack after you visit your parents? I want to begin physical training so that I will be able to protect you! I overheard the omegas’ maidservants’ conversations. They said Alphas of the shadows’ pack have their own special training ground, and only they can train there, and others aren’t allowed to go there unless permitted by the Alpha themselves. So, I want to train there. Everything that belongs to you also belongs to me too, because you are my mama!". Fireball seriously declared.

"I am on the same page, mama!". Irving declared too.

But unlike Fireball, who had a fierce look in his eyes, Irving’s eyes were sparkling as she ran over to my side and held onto my arm.

No matter how it sounded normal for them to call me Mama, I felt very cringey.

Beta Damien cleared his throat, making me stop staring at Irving, who rested her head on my shoulder.

"I think it’s improper for them to call you mama. Especially in these forms". Beta Damien said.

"It’s proper, beta Damien! I like it. You don’t see me complaining!". I said and had to slap my forehead in disbelief. It was Elektra who spoke through me. I see. She didn’t have anything better to do.

Before I could explain myself to Beta Damien, he said to me, "I know", "Also, before I forget. Elder Penelope, your aunty. "Those hybrid and wild bastards. I can’t wait to get stronger and wipe them off the face of this earth!". I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists.

Then, looking at beta Damien, I announced, "I should visit my parents immediately. After that, we will depart quickly!".
