Chapter 1025: Chapter 1025: I Really Don’t Know If I Owe You Something

Can’t help but grumble inwardly, are big companies all this lavish? Such a wide floor, how do those with no sense of direction survive!

In the afternoon, there still wasn’t much to do, and after finally making it to quitting time, I grabbed my bag and walked out of the office area.

On the first floor, I habitually turned left, but before taking two steps, a male voice came from behind, "To the right."

I turned my head to look and saw Xu Kun standing not far away, looking disdainful, "The company is this big, and you can’t remember the way after one day?"

With a silly smile, I trotted over to his side and, with Xu Kun leading, walked out of Beichen Building.

In the car, Xu Kun fixed his gaze on the road ahead, "You said you’d leave once you found a job."

"I found a job, but I still don’t have a place to stay! Can you give me two more days?"

With a sudden step on the gas, he pulled over to the side, "I don’t know you well enough to have you stay with me. Go back, grab your things, and leave on your own."

Xia Yuan bit her lip and said nothing more.

All the way to the apartment building, she clutched the seat belt tightly without letting go.

With her head drooping, she followed him upstairs and saw Xu Kun resolutely packing her things. Her hand instinctively tightened at her side.

She didn’t have much, and as he handed the bag to her, he shut the door without any hesitation.

Standing there, head down, she said nothing.

Evening.

Xu Kun finished some work and felt a bit hungry, so he ordered takeout.

When he went out to get the delivery, as soon as he opened the door, a slender figure tumbled in.

The unexpected motion caused Xia Yuan to open her eyes in a daze. She immediately got up from the ground and looked at him with teary eyes, "I... I really have nowhere else to go, and if I go out, I might get dizzy before I find a place to stay."

Xu Kun said nothing, stepped out to get the food, and when he returned to the door, she was leaning against the doorframe, her head buried very low.

"Why are you standing? Aren’t you tired?"

Xia Yuan looked up, "What do you mean?"

With one hand in his pocket, he spoke patiently, "Are you going to stand at my doorway so everyone in the building knows I kicked you out? Aren’t you going in? Does standing there look good?"

Upon hearing this, her eyes immediately lit up, "Do you mean I can continue staying here?"

Xu Kun: "I’m afraid you’ll get lost if you go out, and your family will come looking for you. I really don’t know if I owe you something, how did I end up meeting a rascal like you! You’re a girl, aren’t you afraid of getting lost and being sold off someday?"

Xia Yuan smiled sweetly, "As long as you don’t sell me off."

"I really would like to sell you," he retorted without holding back, "If I could, I’d have thrown you out into the street by now."

Upon entering the house, he saw her standing still, "What are you doing, waiting for an invitation?"

"Oh, oh..." She immediately picked up the bags and went inside, changed her shoes, and walked to the living room where Xu Kun was taking out the food.

"I ordered extra, sit down and eat with me. You seem like the young lady from a wealthy family, how can you be so silly? Were you really planning to stay outside all night if I hadn’t gotten the takeout? Starving yourself?"

Xia Yuan, a little dissatisfied, said, "I’m only letting you say so much because you’re willing to let me stay. Can’t you talk less, you’re even more nagging than my mom!"
