Mr.CEO Looks Exactly the Same as My Son!-Chapter 989: Feeling a Bit Empty
Back in the room, feeling pretty good, I opened the box, looked inside, and happily stuffed it into my backpack.
Climbing into bed, I turned off the bedside lamp and lay down to sleep.
...
Finally done with a day’s work, I stretched comfortably, rubbed my somewhat sore neck, and stood up, ready to head back to my room to rest.
The study door opened, and Qin Yin walked in with a tray, "Finished with work? I got a bit hungry just now, so I made some tangyuan. Why don’t we have some before going to bed!"
Mo Han laughed at her, "Aren’t girls supposed to maintain their figure? Eating sweets late at night, aren’t you afraid of gaining weight?"
"I’m not on a diet," Qin Yin said with a smile.
She placed the tray on the desk, took out a bowl, and handed it to him, "Give it a try. I bought a few packs from the supermarket on a whim during my days off and put them in the fridge, just to cook when I got hungry. See how it tastes."
Picking up another bowl, she walked to the low table, sat down, and started eating with a spoon.
Mo Han didn’t hold back either, scooping one into his mouth. The outer skin was chewy and soft, and with one bite, a rich black sesame flavor spread throughout his mouth, sweet and delicious.
After finishing the late-night snack, Qin Yin took the bowls away, washed them clean in the kitchen, and then returned to the room to rest.
Early the next day, just stepping out of the room, Mo Han, dressed in a suit, was standing in the living room, talking on the phone while checking his watch...
"Okay, we’ll discuss it more when we meet..."
Qin Yin walked over and saw a suitcase by the door. Frowning slightly, she waited for him to finish the call before asking, "Are you going on a business trip?"
"Yeah, it’s a last-minute decision. There’s a collaboration to discuss, and the flight’s at 2 PM. Once I get to the company, I’ll head straight out; it might take about a week."
Upon hearing this, a peculiar emotion flickered in Qin Yin’s eyes. Noticing his tie wasn’t done properly, she instinctively reached out her hand.
Mo Han was taken aback, stepping back two steps, looking at her in confusion.
Realizing she was a bit abrupt, she awkwardly smiled, "Your tie isn’t done properly. Let me fix it for you."
"Oh, okay, thanks."
Stepping forward, she raised her hands to fix his tie properly, then smiled and stepped back, "There, done."
"Thanks, I made you breakfast. You can eat it later. I need to head out now. After the meeting at the company, I have to catch the flight. Be careful on your way to work."
He bypassed her and took a few steps toward the door, suddenly turning around, "If my mom calls you, chat with her for a bit if you’re in the mood. If not, just brush it off. I’m heading out now, goodbye."
Qin Yin stood there, waiting until he dragged the suitcase out and the door was closed for quite a while, before snapping out of it.
Inexplicably, she felt as if she was the only one in the house, and it felt a bit empty.
Absent-mindedly, she ate a bit, changed clothes in her room, and then went out to work.
At the company, Mo Han was in a meeting with the executives. Within an hour, she didn’t know how many times she glanced in the direction of the meeting room.
Sighing silently, she rubbed her head, forcing herself not to look that way, calming down to work...
Almost 11:30, she took some documents to the finance department. When she returned, the meeting room was empty, feeling uneasy as she went to Mo Han’s office. The door was locked; he must have already left for the airport.
