Mr.CEO Looks Exactly the Same as My Son!-Chapter 998: She Still Keeps Gong Shaoyu in Her Heart?
"Suddenly had a craving for something sweet, thinking of going to buy a cake."
Beichen Rui raised an eyebrow, "Let’s go home first, and have Tong Ma make one."
"Okay."
Gong Family Mansion
Lan Shan looked at her gradually swelling belly, feeling a bit forlorn inside. She couldn’t fit into her old clothes anymore, and high heels were out of the question.
There was a knock on the door, and Housekeeper Ning walked in, "Madam, Miss Wang is here to visit and is in the living room now."
"Who?"
"Wang Keke, Miss Wang."
Lan Shan suddenly recalled that at the Ling Family’s full moon banquet, wasn’t it Wang Keke who splashed her with wine?
"What is she here for?"
Housekeeper Ning: "I’m not sure why Miss Wang suddenly came by. Since sir is not home, she’s here to see you."
"Alright, I got it. You can head out first; I’ll be there shortly."
Housekeeper Ning closed the door, and after tidying up the table a bit, Lan Shan got up, supporting her belly, and walked out of the room.
Wang Keke was sitting on the living room sofa. Upon seeing her come down, she immediately stood up and only greeted her with a smile once Lan Shan got closer, "Should I call you Miss Lan, or Mrs. Gong?"
It had been a few months since they last saw each other, and Wang Keke’s Chinese had improved notably.
"Let’s stick with Miss Lan; it feels a bit better that way."
Lan Shan sneered inwardly. She had been married to Gong Shaoyu for a while now and was rightfully Gong Shaoyu’s wife, but Wang Keke still didn’t want to address her by the Gong family name. Was she still holding Gong Shaoyu in her heart?
She sat on the sofa, took a sip from the cup of water on the table, and maintained a polite smile, "Please sit, Miss Wang. Why are you standing? You being so reserved might give others the impression that we, the Gong family, are not being good hosts."
Wang Keke looked slightly awkward and sat down, her gaze occasionally drifting to Lan Shan’s belly, "You must know the baby’s gender by now, right?"
Lan Shan glanced at her.
"Sorry, I’m just asking casually, it’s okay if you don’t want to share."
Lan Shan offered a light smile, responding, "The doctor said it’s a healthy baby boy."
"I really didn’t expect it; when I saw you a few months ago I thought your relationship with Young Master Gong was unusual. And now you’re married and expecting a child already. Does this mean yours was a marriage due to the pregnancy?"
Lan Shan felt that Wang Keke was a bit too talkative, perhaps overly concerned?
Even though she wasn’t inclined to respond, she still replied, "Honestly, I didn’t expect to marry Shaoyu one day either. Whether we married because of a child or not doesn’t really matter. As long as you have each other in your hearts, a child will come sooner or later, don’t you agree?"
"You’re absolutely right, now that you’re this far along, you need to take care of yourself."
"Thanks for your concern."
Wang Keke stayed for over an hour, and Lan Shan had to sit there accompanying her. Whether it was because Gong Shaoyu was not around, Wang Keke hurriedly left afterward.
When Gong Shaoyu returned, Lan Shan was dozing off on the sofa. He put his briefcase on the coffee table, walked over to her side, knelt down, tidied her hair, and gently nudged her shoulder. Only when she was fully awake did he softly speak, "Why are you sleeping here?"
"You’re back."
"Yeah, let’s go back to the room to sleep." He bent down, picked her up in his arms, and went back to the bedroom.
Lying on the bed, Lan Shan found herself unable to fall asleep again.
"What’s wrong? Can’t sleep? Want to take a walk instead?"
Lan Shan shook her head, "I was just thinking about when I can see my Xinluo. I’m almost dying to see her."
