Mr. CEO, You Look Strangely Familiar-Chapter 42: Worrying for Nothing
He didn’t stop her. "When I came over just now, your sister was following me. I’m afraid she’s still standing at the door."
Nora Ainsworth fumbled to turn on the light, which was blinding for a moment.
She teased, "Grant, I’ll have you know, I’m not good at the piano, but I can dance. That’s my strong suit. Wanna see?"
Quentin Grant sat beside her, a lazy look on his face. "Begin."
She began to dance gracefully, her elegance the same as ever. He couldn’t help but stare, mesmerized.
She danced for over half an hour.
Only then did she slowly stop and leave.
She had taken the lead for once.
When she stepped out, she saw Sharon Ainsworth at the door just as she’d expected, only it was the door to Room 209.
She only dared to open the door and leave because she recalled Quentin Grant coming in through a door in the wall of Room 209. She had figured that part out long ago.
"Nora?" Sharon Ainsworth straightened up and looked at her. "What are you doing here?"
Nora Ainsworth pretended she had just noticed her. "Sharon? I felt a little dizzy from the alcohol, so I came here to rest. Are you waiting for someone?"
Sharon Ainsworth nodded. "Your brother-in-law is in 209. I don’t know if I should go in."
As she finished speaking, the door to Room 209 opened. Quentin Grant stood in the doorway, his voice tinged with a seductive warmth. "Since you’re here, come in. Don’t be shy."
Sharon Ainsworth’s face flushed red. She asked shyly, "I just... I wasn’t sure if I should come in."
He turned and walked back inside. "Come on in."
Sharon Ainsworth waved at Nora Ainsworth. "You should head downstairs first."
Nora Ainsworth smiled faintly. "Okay."
She had only taken two steps when the door to Room 209 slammed shut with a BANG. Nora Ainsworth unconsciously slowed her pace. At that moment, a thought popped into her head: ’Would Mr. Grant also do it with Sharon—’
’He definitely wouldn’t pass up this opportunity,’ she thought. The image of the two of them together made Nora Ainsworth’s chest tighten uncomfortably.
She went downstairs and happened to see Leon Lynch walking toward her, apparently on his way up.
"Where have you been?" He grabbed her arm, his grip so tight it hurt.
"I went to rest for a bit. What’s wrong?"
Leon Lynch slowly loosened his grip. "I was looking for you for a while."
"Were you afraid I’d gotten lost or something?" Nora Ainsworth looked at him with a grin. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
He laced his fingers with hers. "I’m not afraid of you getting lost. I can find you no matter where you go. I’m just afraid you’ll run off on your own and not want to come back."
Nora Ainsworth immediately understood his meaning. She feigned nonchalance and gave him a smile. "You worry too much."
Leon Lynch pulled her down to sit on a sofa. Just as they sat, a woman in a red, rose-like tube dress gracefully took a seat across from them, holding a wine glass.
Her eyes were full of allure. She simpered, "Young Master Lynch, you haven’t come looking for me. Have you been busy lately?"
Nora Ainsworth smiled and poked his arm, asking in a low voice, "An old flame?"
Leon Lynch’s expression darkened instantly, but his face remained impassive. "Some people have no self-awareness. Generally, if I stop looking for a woman, it’s because she has no more value. Isn’t running over here to ask me just asking for humiliation?"
The beautiful woman’s face stiffened, her hand struggling to hold the wine glass steady. "They say Young Master Lynch forgets the old once he has someone new. It seems that’s true."
Leon Lynch’s eyes narrowed slightly. "I see you’re really not very smart."
Just as he started to pull out his phone, the woman’s face paled, and she quickly said, "Young Master Lynch, I’m sorry."
After saying that, she immediately left their table.
