Chapter 47: Chapter 47: I Can Give You Love, and I Can Hurt You Just the Same

Nora Ainsworth pleaded, "Mom—"

Mrs. Ainsworth’s mind was made up. "Nora, if you don’t agree to marry Leon right now, I’ll kill myself right in front of you."

Seeing that she didn’t seem to be lying, Nora Ainsworth’s voice was very low. "I’ll call. I’ll call him right now."

She took out her phone and dialed Leon Lynch’s number, but no one answered.

She tried again, but there was still no answer. Mr. Ainsworth said directly, "Get in the car and go to the Lynch Family’s house right now. Find him and make things clear."

Nora Ainsworth had no choice but to bow her stubborn head. This was all for her mother.

Driving Sharon Ainsworth’s car, she rushed to the Lynch Family’s home, only to learn that Leon Lynch hadn’t returned.

Anxious, Nora Ainsworth went to the places Leon Lynch frequented, like bars and so on.

After searching for about forty minutes, she finally found him in a nightclub.

But at this moment, he was already dead drunk.

There were also several scantily clad women around him.

She went up, pulled one of the women away, and sat down beside him. "Leon? Leon? Let’s go home."

Unexpectedly, he shoved her away. "Who are you? Get lost!"

Nora Ainsworth knew he was angry, so she could only say, "Leon, I was wrong. I’ll agree to it, okay?"

He lifted his face, squinting at her. "You’ll agree? For real?"

Nora Ainsworth nodded.

He staggered to his feet. "Fine. Let me see if you really mean it. Support me."

She supported him, but Leon Lynch headed upstairs, where the suites were.

Opening the door to a room, he locked it from the inside and then grabbed her in an embrace.

"Nora Ainsworth, I never thought you wouldn’t want to marry me."

"Leon Lynch, let go of me first. Let’s talk this out properly, okay?"

He advanced on her, forcing Nora Ainsworth to back away. Within moments, he had her pinned beneath him, his face buried in the crook of her neck.

"Didn’t you say you’d agree? Then let me see if you’re really sincere."

Nora Ainsworth wanted to clutch her clothes together, but doing so would reveal what she was truly thinking.

As she felt her clothes being stripped away, piece by piece, Nora Ainsworth closed her eyes.

’Why am I always the one being pushed around? Why does everyone have to force me like this!’

’What did I ever do wrong!’

Just when Nora Ainsworth felt there was no escape, the movements on top of her stopped.

She slowly opened her eyes and met Leon Lynch’s gaze.

"So there really is another man in your heart." After a long moment, he finally spoke. "If I really marry you, are you going to cheat on me?"

Nora Ainsworth’s voice was a little soft. "I don’t want to lie to you, but... I can’t not marry you."

He slowly lowered himself. "I know. That’s why I will never give you the chance to meet other men. Nora, from now on, you are my woman. Even if you don’t want to be, you have no choice."

She nodded.

Seeing her compliance, he finally let go, a smile playing on his lips. Then, he bit down hard on her collarbone. "Does it hurt?"

Nora Ainsworth gasped. "Leon Lynch, are you throwing a drunken fit?!"

He laughed like a child. "So what if I am? I want you to remember that just as I can give you love, I can also give you pain."

Nora Ainsworth breathed a sigh of relief. "Can we go home now?"

"What’s the rush? We haven’t had our wedding night yet."

She reached back to undo the clasp on her dress. "Fine."
