Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 1038 - 1034: I’d Like to Invite You Over for a Drink
Listening to Nathan Moore’s advice, Nicholas Croft decided to follow his heart. If he couldn’t help but be attracted to Beatrice Hargrave, then getting closer wouldn’t hurt.
At least, when arranging everything for her, he would feel more comfortable, because subconsciously he already regarded her as Sophie Foster, and laying the groundwork for her future seemed to compensate for the guilt he felt towards Sophie.
Before attending the film festival, Nicholas Croft and Henry Hargrave suggested that Hannah Hargrave accompany Beatrice Hargrave to walk the red carpet, which would increase their exposure.
In fact, this was also why Nicholas agreed to accompany Hannah.
With such a great opportunity, Henry Hargrave wouldn’t miss out, and he happily agreed right away, even saying politely the night before the trip that Beatrice was new to society and didn’t understand the rules, asking Nicholas to take more care of her...
And Nicholas, also readily agreed.
The day before the film festival’s opening ceremony, the three of them took Nicholas’s luxury car to the airport. While waiting for their flight, Nicholas specially instructed his assistant to buy snacks at the airport supermarket for Beatrice to pass the time when bored. Although Hannah felt a bit jealous, she kept reminding herself that it was only because of her friendship with Nicholas that he cared so much for her sister.
When their plane landed in City C, it was already evening. They had dinner at the hotel and then retired to their rooms to rest.
Hannah’s room was adjacent to Nicholas’s, while Beatrice was staying across from them.
Back in her room, Hannah first went to the bathroom to take a shower, coming out wrapped in the hotel’s robe, her long hair bundled in a towel. She walked over to the wine rack, took a bottle of red wine, and sat on the sofa opening it.
She poured a drink into two glasses, then walked to the bed to get her purse, took out a white paper bag, and returned to the sofa, pouring the white powder into the remaining half bottle of wine. She picked up the bottle and shook it gently, watching the powder dissolve completely with a knowing smile at the corner of her lips.
She picked up her phone and called Nicholas, "Nicholas, are you asleep... Nothing much, it’s too early; I can’t sleep. Would you like to come over for a drink..."
After hanging up the phone, Hannah got up, walked to the mirror, adjusted her robe, and looked at the slight cleavage appearing at her chest before contentedly sitting back on the sofa.
Next door, Nicholas assumed Beatrice would be there too, which was why he accepted Hannah’s invitation. He put down his phone, walked to the wardrobe, and changed into trousers and a shirt before going to the room next door.
Having just showered, his short hair was still damp. Sophie Foster used to love how he looked right after a shower, saying he looked cool with his bangs hanging over his forehead, and would ask him to frown on purpose, making a serious expression...
Thinking Beatrice would also be in Hannah’s room, Nicholas deliberately let his short hair fall across his forehead, and left the shirt buttons partially undone, revealing part of his toned chest.
Standing in front of Hannah’s room door, he knocked, his handsome brows furrowed, as if deep in thought. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Coming,"
Hannah responded, getting up from the sofa. Before opening the door, she glanced in the mirror once more, then walked over and opened the door, holding the handle and smiling, "Come in."
Nicholas nodded faintly; it wasn’t Beatrice who opened the door, leaving him with a shadow of disappointment.
Upon entering, he noticed there were only two glasses on the low table, his brows instinctively furrowing.
"Have a seat." Hannah closed the door behind him and returned, telling Nicholas to sit on the sofa, and she herself sat opposite him.
