Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 419 - 418: Lofty and Aloof
"Ethan Grant, you..."
The older Mr. Grant’s face darkened, and he shouted sharply, but the last word "dare" was swallowed back when he saw the smile on Ethan Grant’s face.
Ethan Grant had already smashed it once, no, counting the time with Carter Lockwood, it was twice.
What’s to stop him from doing it a third time!
Smash the Grant Family!
On the night of the elder Mr. Grant’s birthday feast, when the Dowager went to the temple for blessings, she was so furious to hear that her grandson had demolished the Grant’s ancestral home that she rushed back immediately.
She earnestly requested several times to see Ethan Grant, but he had grown wings and took so much time to come back to see her.
"Grandma, listen to what he’s saying?"
Renee Grant complained irritably, stirring up trouble.
She was raised single-handedly by Madam Grant, who had a fondness for the late Matron Grant, and always doted on Renee.
The elder Mr. Grant was also more favorable towards the daughter of his first wife.
With both of them protecting her, Renee Grant’s position in the Grant Family surpassed Ethan Grant and the Matron Grant.
Otherwise, four years ago, when Renee drugged Ethan, she wasn’t severely punished because the Dowager Grant shielded her.
"Ethan."
The Dowager Grant, having held her position in the family for many years, didn’t jump up like Renee, but her face darkened, and she looked coldly at Ethan Grant.
If the Grant Family had another male heir, she wouldn’t allow her son to hand over the vast family business to Ethan Grant. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"The century-old foundation of the Grant Family can’t be destroyed in your hands."
"We oppose this matter..."
Madam Grant spoke, casting a sidelong glance at Serena Sullivan.
"It’s for your own good."
Yet another person claiming it was for Ethan Grant’s good!
Ethan Grant stayed silent, sneering as he peeled grapes for Serena Sullivan. He carefully removed the skin, then used a toothpick to take out the seeds, completing the process meticulously.
"Ethan, our Grant Family is an illustrious family, and the wives of our past leaders all came from other prestigious families."
"Renee’s mother did, and so did your mother."
Renee’s biological mother and the Matron Grant were both personally chosen for the elder Mr. Grant by Madam Grant.
Their backgrounds and family status were exceptional in Solaria; however, shortly after the Matron Grant married the elder Mr. Grant, her family fell into decline, and lacked the Grant Family’s prominent status.
For this reason, Madam Grant never really liked this daughter-in-law.
She placed this matter of marriage alliance onto Ethan Grant!
"Her family background is inadequate!"
The Madam said firmly, with disdain.
Her dislike directly affected the elder Mr. Grant!
After speaking, she watched as Ethan Grant, having finished peeling and deseeding, fed the grapes into Serena Sullivan’s mouth, "Serena, eat!"
His gentle tone and disregard for the Madam made her face flush with anger, fury flickering in her eyes.
"Ethan!"
The Madam raised her voice, seeing that Ethan Grant’s attention was all on Serena Sullivan, she took a deep breath.
"Ethan, your grandmother is speaking to you."
Renee, upset on behalf of the Madam, rebuked Ethan Grant.
The elder Mr. Grant had observed his son’s rebellious and indifferent behavior before, so he maintained a cold demeanor, suppressing his anger without an outburst.
"Miss Sullivan."
Madam Grant was not as impulsive or domineering as Renee. Since Ethan Grant was ignoring her, she changed her tactics, targeting Serena Sullivan directly.
"You should know you’re not a match for Ethan."
"Your crippled leg will only drag Ethan down, and you won’t be able to give the Grant Family any heirs in the future."
In the Madam’s view, Ethan’s condition was not a problem. The Grant Family had wealth and could hire doctors for his treatment; he would eventually recover.
However, Serena Sullivan, being physically weakened and unable to have children after the car accident four years ago, was considered incurable by the Grant Family!
The truth was, the Grant Family looked down on Serena Sullivan due to her not-so-prominent background.
