Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 476 - 475: Heart Bleeding
As soon as he got out the door, Ethan Grant slumped down carelessly, lit a cigarette, and started smoking.
In his youth, Ethan Grant was rebellious and flamboyant. Before meeting Serena Sullivan, he spent his days fighting and skipping school. After meeting Serena, determined to win her over, he studied desperately, with eyes and heart only for Serena.
The name "Serena, Serena" became the calamity of his life.
He smoked fiercely, one cigarette after another, returning to his state when Serena was absent.
After finishing the cigarettes, he pressed them out directly against the wall. In no time, the room was shrouded in smoke, and the wall and carpet were marked with cigarette traces.
The servants watched from the side, fearing that a tremble of Mr. Grant’s hand might set the house on fire. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
However, the smoke was also quite overwhelming.
The doorbell rang. A servant glanced at Ethan Grant, who did not react and continued smoking the cigarette in his hand.
Apart from Serena, nothing could catch his attention.
"What’s going on here?"
Mr. Grant’s cold and stern voice came, followed by footsteps.
The servants here had never met Mr. Grant and The Dowager Grant. Seeing the two of them, they were prepared to be scolded and driven away.
"I’m his father!"
Mr. Grant raised his voice angrily. A servant glanced at the smoking Ethan Grant and noticed the resemblance between father and son, stepping aside, especially since Mr. Grant and The Dowager Grant had brought people with them.
As soon as Mr. Grant entered, the strong smell of tobacco hit him. He also smoked, but never to the extent that Ethan did, making the whole house feel like it was on the verge of burning.
He quickly walked toward the hallway and turned his head to see Ethan, a grown man, slumped on the floor, smoking.
"Cough, cough!"
Mr. Grant coughed repeatedly, choking on the smoke, and the faint-hearted Dowager Grant could hardly stand being in the living room.
"Look at him, what has he become over a woman!"
The Dowager said angrily, pounding her cane against the floor, revealing her profound disappointment and grief.
The Grant Family members were always proper. How could they have raised such a dissolute son like Ethan Grant!
"Ethan Grant."
Mr. Grant walked up to Ethan. Through the smoke, his son looked up at him, his eyes cold enough to make Mr. Grant’s heart tremble, suddenly reminding him of the person he had once driven nearly to the brink of collapse four years ago.
Over the years, Ethan Grant’s capabilities in managing The Grant Corporation were widely recognized. Outsiders were envious of him for having such an exceptional son!
He was proud of Ethan Grant too!
Only, in one matter, he was unwilling to compromise.
He thought, if it were four years ago, he would have agreed to Ethan and Serena’s relationship.
But four years later, with Serena paralyzed and unable to bear children, how could he accept such a daughter-in-law?
Now, he suddenly remembered The Matron Grant’s words: would they only relent when their son was driven mad?
"What are you here for!"
Ethan Grant finished the cigarette in his hand, stood up supporting himself against the wall. Maybe it was from sitting too long, or from two days and nights without sleep, but he felt dizzy as he stood up. Mr. Grant quickly reached out to support him, but Ethan laughed coldly and pushed him away.
The smoke cleared, and everything before his eyes became bright. Ethan Grant lifted his foot and walked forward.
Without Serena’s Willow Yarrow, every step he took felt like his heart was bleeding and aching!
In the living room, The Dowager Grant sat on the sofa, waiting for Ethan to come over. Hearing the footsteps behind her, she spoke up, "Serena Sullivan is dead..."
