Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 500 - 499: Meeting the Old Master
In the past, because of Serena Sullivan, every encounter between Ethan Grant and Finn Chandler was tense, neither could see eye to eye.
After Serena’s accident, he looked at people connected to her with a sense of closeness, hoping to find traces of Serena in them, to hear bits and pieces about her.
"Yes." Finn replied, gazing at Ethan. He was even slimmer than when she had seen him before, and those dreary eyes always conveyed a sense of sadness, stirring a faint bitterness in one’s heart.
"Serena, she..."
Serena’s accident this time was because of The Sterling Family; her survival was also because of The Sterling Family.
With things unsettled within The Sterling Family, Serena was in no rush to meet Ethan.
Only Finn, looking at Ethan like this, her normally cold heart was unsure whether it had softened after experiencing love or was moved by Ethan’s undying affection, wanted to remind him that Serena was still alive.
Before Finn could continue, Ethan rushed to take over the conversation.
"She will come back."
Immersed in the business world, he met with many people, those who pried into his affairs, one by one, indirectly comforting him.
They comforted because they thought Serena had little chance of survival, with so much time passing without her showing up, she might be gone from this world.
Ethan didn’t like hearing such things, instinctively preventing Finn from speaking further upon hearing Serena’s name.
Finn was startled, sensing the displeasure in Ethan’s words.
The anger was out of fear!
Hadn’t she felt the same, unable to bear hearing her family say Serena was gone?
"Mr. Grant, I also believe Serena is still out there."
Finn replied with a smile.
Her words eased Ethan’s expression, with nothing more to say between them, Finn prepared to leave, when the door of the private room opened, a man emerged with a smile walking towards Ethan.
The man’s handsome features gave Finn a sense of familiarity.
"Mr. Grant, let’s go."
Wyatt Sterling had met with Ethan since yesterday, talked until his mouth was dry, yet Ethan was unwavering, intent on going against The Sterling Family at all costs.
It wasn’t that The Sterling Family was afraid of Ethan, but things that could be negotiated didn’t need to be solved with such expense.
They were all businessmen. Shouldn’t they prioritize interests? If this continued, it would be a lose-lose situation between Ethan and Wyatt, potentially benefiting an outsider.
"Alright!"
Ethan responded, initially planning to decline seeing the elder Sterling, he thought it over and agreed.
"Where are you going?"
Finn shifted her gaze from Wyatt, curiously asking Ethan.
"The Sterling Family!"
Having said that, Ethan headed towards the elevator, Wyatt smiled at Finn and followed.
Finn turned, contemplatively watching Wyatt, wondering how this man resembled Serena so much? No, like Claire Sullivan.
The Sterling Family?
The Sterling Family has three young masters, which one is this taking Ethan there?
Even if they were half-brothers, how could he resemble Claire Sullivan!
Ethan had visited the Imperial Capital many times, four years ago, following Mr. Grant to call on The Sterling Family, but he was visiting The Sterling Family’s old mansion for the first time.
The mansion’s architecture leaned towards a traditional Chinese style, somewhat similar to The Sullivan Family, but whether in layout or structure, or the surrounding bonsai and rockery placements, it was superior to The Sullivan Family.
Of course, The Sterling Family is the Imperial Capital’s foremost family, how could a scholarly family like The Sullivan Family compare!
"Mr. Grant, please this way!"
