Mr. Hawthorne, Your Wife Wants a Divorce Again-Chapter 1099: No Crying Allowed
Rather than calling it a kiss, it’s more accurate to describe it as a bite.
Ann Vaughn hardly had time to react before Wade Lowell pressed her onto the laboratory table, forcing her to endure this fierce, almost brutal kiss. The more she struggled, the heavier his grip became, causing her to whimper in pain.
Wade Lowell was like a beast awakening from slumber, his blood full of the unique wildness and destructive urge typical of animals.
Once he clamps down on the prey’s neck, he never lets go.
He rudely rampaged through Ann Vaughn’s soft mouth, plundering madly, his perennially calm and indifferent eyes filled with malevolence, the corners of his eyes ominously blood-red.
This was a kiss devoid of any lust.
It felt more like punishment.
Ann Vaughn’s lips hurt as if they were cracked, her hands forcefully pressed against Wade Lowell’s shoulders, trying to push him away, yet her strength was diminishing, the discomfort from her heart growing stronger, making her breathing more rapid.
The aftereffects were resurfacing.
Ann Vaughn’s vision began to blacken, and suddenly she felt her skirt being lifted, a cold hand wandering upwards.
Rip—
With the sound of fabric tearing, the long dress on Ann Vaughn’s body turned into fragments and was thrown to the floor, making her face grow even paler.
"Wade, you can’t—"
"I can’t?" Wade Lowell interrupted her coldly, his long, distinct fingers teasing the slender strap on her snowy shoulder, a sinister smile on his face, "There is nothing I can’t do."
When the last piece was torn away, Ann Vaughn’s eyes widened to their limit.
Tears slipped uncontrollably from the corners of her eyes, landing on Wade Lowell’s back of the hand with a soft "plop" sound.
Wade Lowell was just about to make the next move but froze in place.
He frowned and looked up; Ann Vaughn’s eyes shone with terror, and her unconscious tears suddenly struck him as a thorn lodged deep in his heart.
Wade Lowell straightened up, pressing his thin lips together in frustration. He casually picked up the lab coat nearby and draped it over Ann Vaughn, questioning her in a low voice.
"Why are you crying?"
"Ugh..."
"Did I make you cry? No crying allowed."
"Sob, sob..."
"..."
Not only did Ann Vaughn cry, but she also used the corner of the lab coat to wipe her tears and snot, curling herself up inside it, sobbing as she turned away.
Her grievances were palpable.
Wade Lowell’s expression grew colder, his brows twitching fiercely.
He stared gloomily at Ann Vaughn’s shaking shoulders as she cried, a peculiar sense of defeat flashed through his eyes. He pressed his lips together lightly and turned to leave.
Only when Ann Vaughn cried herself into exhaustion, almost ready to doze off, did Wade Lowell return.
Ann Vaughn clutched the lab coat tightly, wary if he had any intentions towards her again. Suddenly, she felt her body lift.
Wade Lowell held her with one arm, carrying a transparent bag with the other, heading towards the bedroom.
On other occasions, Ann Vaughn might jokingly remark on his strong arms, but now, in this situation, it just made her uneasy.
What is he planning again?!
Ann Vaughn was anxious the entire way, but Wade Lowell simply placed her on the bedroom bed, threw down the transparent bag, and turned to leave.
After waiting for a while, confirming that Wade Lowell had indeed left, Ann Vaughn sat up wrapped in the lab coat, suspiciously eyeing the bag.
It was filled with food and drinks...
Could he really think that after doing such a thing, a pile of food would quell her anger?
Wishful thinking!
Ann Vaughn threw the bag aside, her teeth clenched red lips, eyes burning with fury.
She would rather starve than eat the food he provided!
With this thought settled, the door opened, and Wade Lowell, who had just left, walked back in, holding a white shirt and black trousers.
"Put them on." Wade Lowell placed the clothes on the bed, his tone indifferent.
"I don’t need it!" Ann Vaughn’s face was colder than his, extending her foot to kick the clothes to the ground, "I won’t wear a pervert’s clothes!"
Wade Lowell’s expression didn’t change, his unshielded eyes sharp as blades, sizing Ann Vaughn up and down, "You want to remain undressed, I could see that as you seducing me."
Seducing what?!
This man was shameless!
Ann Vaughn gritted her teeth in anger, wrapping herself tightly in the lab coat, on guard like defending against a wolf against Wade Lowell opposite. Then she quickly jumped off the bed and picked up the clothes she had kicked away.
"I’m going to change, get out!"
"This is my territory."
"?" Hearing his implied meaning, Ann Vaughn took a deep breath, her hands clutching the lab coat firmly, and dashed out of the bedroom.
She didn’t have to stay here with Wade Lowell.
If it wasn’t for fear of implicating Josiah Keaton, she would have already climbed through the balcony and hidden in the adjacent dorm upon waking.
Unfortunately, there was no "if," and she didn’t realize Wade Lowell was such a terrifying creature!
A waste of the lab coat he wore!
"You want to return to Josiah Keaton?" Wade Lowell caught Ann Vaughn’s wrist accurately, pulling her into his embrace with just a little force, hugging her trembling body from behind, sneering, "You wouldn’t want to see him die here."
The posture was intimate enough, yet with Wade Lowell’s words, it made Ann Vaughn shiver all over.
Almost forgot.
The base couldn’t find where she was, they wouldn’t easily let go of Josiah Keaton as a crucial clue.
For now, the further she stayed from Josiah Keaton, the safer he was; hence she’d been avoiding him in recent days, creating an illusion of them having fallen out,
Otherwise, once Summer and Ann Vaughn’s matters were exposed, the base would suspect him first, with unbearable consequences.
Thoughts were jumbled, and Ann Vaughn finally calmed down after a while, breaking free forcefully from Wade Lowell’s embrace, turning around to glare at him.
"What exactly do you want to do?"
Wade Lowell lowered his eyes, his hands falling into his pants pockets, slowly advancing toward her, "Besides Josiah Keaton, do you care what others want to do?"
Ann Vaughn retreated half a step, pressing her lips together silently.
When angry, she either vents all at once or remains silent, refusing to talk.
Compared to the former, the latter is evidently more lethal.
"Besides being in one room, sharing a bed, what else have you done with him." Wade Lowell’s cold fingers touched Ann Vaughn’s lips, rubbing heavily a few times.
Her lips were still a bit sore. Ann Vaughn frowned, avoiding his fingers, sarcastically said, "Dr. Locke’s family must live by the sea, as it’s rather meddlesome."
"Really?" Speaking, Wade Lowell leaned slightly, biting a mark on Ann Vaughn’s delicate earlobe, watching her neck blush rapidly, squinting slightly, "Seems not."
Ann Vaughn was about to slap him across the face when suddenly an urgent knock came from outside the door.
