Mr. Mu Proposed Again Today-Chapter 63 - Sudden Appearance of a Love Rival_1
Chapter 63: Chapter 63 Sudden Appearance of a Love Rival_1
Chapter 63 -63 Sudden Appearance of a Love Rival_1
Just as they were wildly guessing in their hearts, Ding Nianzi, dressed in a wine-red gown, appeared arm in arm with Mother Mu before everyone’s eyes, and the crowd was once again shocked.
They quickly put on smiling faces to greet Mother Mu. After all, she was not someone they could afford to offend—the former ruler of the Mu Group. Although she no longer handled company affairs, her words could still ruin their fortunes, as many had learned the hard way.
Ding Nianzi affectionately held onto Mother Mu, walking and smiling tenderly. She was as docile and virtuous as one could be.
“Isn’t this the Mayor’s daughter?” A certain leader had seen Ding Nianzi a few times, so he recognized her at a glance.
“Hehe, yes, Nianzi is sensible and well-behaved. I like her very much,” Mother Mu answered with a smile.
Upon hearing this, Ding Nianzi’s heart instantly blossomed with joy. As long as Auntie liked her, then she had the chance to enter the Mu Family, to become its daughter-in-law, and to be the lady of the Mu Group.
Mu Yingchen passed a flicker of an indistinct emotion in his eyes when he heard what his mother had said.
The people around them, hearing her say this, began to speculate even more. Could it be that the Mu Family truly favored the Mayor’s daughter?
However, when it came down to it, the Mayor’s daughter from C City was indeed much more superior in terms of status and family background than the daughter of the Su Family.
“Miss Ding indeed has knowledge and reason, and is beautiful and charming,” the crowd began to flatter Ding Nianzi.
Ding Nianzi’s heart swelled with pride even more.
Seeing this, Mu Yingchen’s obsidian-like eyes dangerously narrowed before he nodded to Mother Mu and the others, then walked away, leaving the crowd to give awkward smiles.
Ding Nianzi feigned a look of distress as she lowered her head and gently asked Mother Mu, “Auntie, does Brother Chen dislike me?”
Mother Mu smiled elegantly and patted the back of her hand, “His personality is just like that, cold and distant. Don’t take it to heart.”
“Really?” Ding Nianzi looked at Mother Mu with delight.
Mother Mu nodded, and Ding Nianzi’s heart suddenly soared into the sky. Brother Chen didn’t like her now, but she had plenty of time to wait. One day he would surely notice her goodness and come to like her.
Meanwhile, Su Wanxia had spent the day at the amusement park with Jesse, experiencing the thrill of roller coasters, drop towers, skydiving, bungee jumping, the whirlwind chairs, and even the most romantic Ferris wheel, among many other long-missed thrills.
“Jesse, I feel like my legs are so weak I can hardly walk,” Su Wanxia said with a wry smile to Jesse. She had indeed played too much today, and her heart was still wildly pounding.
“How was it, wasn’t it thrilling, satisfying, and relaxing?” Jesse asked Su Wanxia excitedly, still out of breath.
Su Wanxia felt that all the recent unhappiness had indeed vanished without a trace. Although her legs were a bit weak, the sudden sense of relief in her heart made her cry out, “It was thrilling, satisfying, and relaxing!”

“Haha, do you want me to carry you?”
“No, I think the floaty feeling when walking is kind of fun. It’s like stepping on clouds, all soft and fluffy,” Su Wanxia said childishly as she walked.
Jesse looked at Su Wanxia walking barefoot on the road as though hunting for treasures and then glanced at the high heels he was holding, shaking his head helplessly.
Once seated in the car, Su Wanxia touched her chest and took a deep breath, “Finally, it stopped pounding.”
“How did you find bungee jumping?” Jesse asked with amusement.
Su Wanxia blushed, remembering her earth-shattering screams of terror. It really was as embarrassing as it could get. But the feeling of jumping straight down from the sky was like being thrown out of an airplane. The fear of near death, even thinking about it now, made her scalp tingle.
“I’m never going bungee jumping again,” Su Wanxia swore as she clutched her chest.
“Really?” Jesse looked at her doubtfully, wondering who had claimed they could jump ten times a day without fear.
“Mm-hmm,” Su Wanxia nodded.
“As long as you don’t get the itch to jump when you see others doing it,” Jesse said with a meaningful tone.
“Absolutely not, I want to live a couple more years.”
“Haha.”
By the time they arrived at the gates of Su Wanxia’s villa, it was already past 8 p.m.
Su Wanxia got out of the car and stood beside the silver Maybach, while Jesse also emerged from the driver’s seat, still holding Su Wanxia’s high heels.
Smiling sheepishly, Su Wanxia said, “Jesse, thank you,” and then reached for the shoes in his hand.
Jesse’s ice-blue eyes were deep, “Whenever you wish, I’m at your beck and call.”
Then he knelt down, intending to help Su Wanxia put on her shoes.
Su Wanxia quickly took two steps back, slightly embarrassed, “I can do it myself.”
Jesse looked up, staring directly at her, then teased, “Are you sure you can manage?”
Looking around, Su Wanxia saw no place to sit to put on her shoes unless she did so in the car. Her legs were still a bit wobbly, and the heels were too high to squat down and fasten the straps.
She hesitated for a moment and then stepped forward, gently lifting her leg and extending her foot towards Jesse.
Jesse’s mouth curled into a smile, and he gently slipped the shoe onto her foot, tenderly fastening the strap.
While putting on the other shoe, Su Wanxia had to lightly rest her hand on Jesse’s shoulder to keep her balance and prevent herself from falling.
Under the streetlight’s glow, a handsome man knelt before a beautiful woman, earnestly helping her put on her shoes, while the woman, with a smile in her eyes, gently supported herself on the man’s shoulder. The scene was so warm and romantic, so envy-inducing.
But for some, the view was a blinding pain, piercing their eyes, numbing their hearts, and sending shivers down their bodies.
Mu Yingchen left the evening’s wedding banquet early. He had spent the entire day at Mu Feng’s wedding ceremony without seeing the one person he wanted to see, feeling somewhat distracted. Evading a crowd of well-wishers, he drove himself, filled with self-reproach, to her house.
In fact, since the day he had pushed her away in a fit of anger, he was already dying on the inside with regret. It was the first time he had pushed her out of his embrace, and the first time he had refused her request.
After he turned to leave, he had thought about going back, but pride clouded his true feelings, forcing him instead to leave in frustration, for her words had truly wounded him.
He had hoped to see her at the wedding banquet, but when she didn’t show up, panic set in. He thought she must be angry with him, desperately masking his own panic, maintaining his composure so that no one could detect a single flaw.
Just as he arrived filled with guilt, he witnessed this scene.
She had refused to be his date, had even skipped her close friend’s wedding banquet—was it all because of this man who flew in from England?
Su Wanxia, how can you be so cruel!
