Mr. Mu Proposed Again Today-Chapter 81 - Small Wound_1
Chapter 81: Chapter 81 Small Wound_1
Chapter 81 -81 Small Wound_1
Ji Hua was immediately filled with frustration. Who could explain to him what was going on, how his big brother suddenly became so cheap? He wouldn’t even treat him to a meal.
Su Wanxia glanced at him triumphantly. “Say you want to go, say it quickly, say it and you’ll admit you’re a third wheel.”
Ji Hua was speechless, but then he steeled himself. It wasn’t his first time being a third wheel; he’d lost count of the number of times, so why care about one more?
With this thought, he coolly said to the proud Su Wanxia, “I don’t mind being the third wheel, as long as there’s food to eat.” These days, filling your stomach was the top priority—who cared about being a third wheel? In Ji Hua’s view, all those concerns could go to hell.
Su Wanxia’s mouth twitched. His skin was getting thicker by the day, and his dignity was getting shattered over and over again.
Mu Feng laughed quietly, then patted Ji Hua on the shoulder. “You’re a good brother; I hope you enjoy your time as a third wheel!” He then walked towards the elevator with a smile.
Mu Yingchen couldn’t help but smile too. “Let’s go then,” he said before pulling Su Wanxia along with him.
Ji Hua straightened his neck and huffed. He was determined to carry on the spirit of a third wheel to the end.
At the dinner table, Ji Hua couldn’t help but feel relieved that he’d thickened his skin and tagged along. Look at this, look at this—all his favorite foods.
Su Wanxia rolled her eyes skyward. Was Ji Hua, the man of the house, really lacking such delicacies in his daily life? Was it necessary for him to look so glad he hadn’t come for nothing?
Ji Hua ignored all the glances and happily ate to his heart’s content.
After dinner, as usual, Mu Yingchen took Su Wanxia home, leaving her car undisturbed in the parking lot.
It was only then that Ji Hua drove himself back to his place.
When Su Wanxia got out of the car, Mu Yingchen naturally said, “I’ll pick you up tomorrow morning.”
Su Wanxia hesitated for a moment before nodding. Her car was at the company, so she had no choice but to let him pick her up.
Seeing her hesitation, Mu Yingchen added, “Or you could just come back to the villa with me?”
Su Wanxia looked at him somewhat shyly and blurted out two words with gritted teeth, “Goodbye,” then without hesitation, turned and walked towards the door of her house.
Mu Yingchen chuckled quietly and then drove away.
The next day, Mu Yingchen waited outside her house as usual. Seeing the familiar car, Su Wanxia showed a blissful smile. Having someone escort her to work every day felt really good, especially when that person was the one she cherished.
The sweet feeling that naturally welled up from the bottom of her heart made her linger and savor it.
“How long have you been waiting?” she asked with a smile as she approached the car. Suddenly, her eyes lingered on his beautiful lips and she chuckled inwardly.
“Not too long,” Mu Yingchen replied softly. In reality, he had been waiting for about 20 minutes, but he knew she liked to sleep in and didn’t rush her with a phone call.
As Su Wanxia opened the car door to get in, she asked curiously, “Where’s your chauffeur? I’ve never seen them.” Indeed, he always drove himself; she’d never seen his chauffeur. But she would never assume that the magnificent CEO Mu didn’t have a chauffeur—at least one or two.
Upon hearing her question, Mu Yingchen sighed helplessly. Since her return, he’d indeed rarely used a chauffeur and drove himself instead.
“On vacation,” he said lightly.
“On vacation?” Su Wanxia eyed him suspiciously.
“Mm,” Mu Yingchen nodded as he started the car.
“Oh,” Su Wanxia nodded, half-convinced, half-doubtful.
When she arrived at the parking lot and was just getting out of the car, she saw Bai Yudie, who had also just disembarked nearby.
A flash of barely perceptible venom glinted in the watery eyes of Bai Yudie before she bestowed a soft smile upon Su Wanxia.
Su Wanxia returned the gesture with a polite smile, but only the two of them knew the true meaning behind those smiles.
At this point, Mu Yingchen had parked the car and walked over to Su Wanxia’s side, completely oblivious to Bai Yudie standing in the distance. He took Su Wanxia’s hand and headed toward the elevator.
Bai Yudie’s gaze flickered, and then, with feigned helplessness, she hurried after Mu Yingchen, calling out with a gentleness like water, “Big brother Chen!”
It was only then that Mu Yingchen turned his head and regarded her with an indifferent look.
Seeing Mu Yingchen turn around, Bai Yudie’s heart suddenly tightened into a knot. She fixated on the scar on his lip, unable to snap out of it as a surge of jealousy violently swelled within her.
Mu Yingchen frowned and asked, “What is it?”
Bai Yudie snapped back to reality from her jealous rage, her words jumbled, “Oh, you haven’t been home these past few days, auntie said she misses you.”
“Mm, I’ll go see her in the next few days,” Mu Yingchen said, before pulling Su Wanxia away.
Bai Yudie glared at the retreating figure of Su Wanxia, her eyes burning with a desire to tear her apart.
During the morning meeting, all the senior executives secretly ogled Mu Yingchen again and again. They never would have imagined that their formidable CEO would one day appear battered, and in such a tantalizing spot, no less.
Ji Hua could hardly contain his amusement bubbling up from within. Just how intense were big brother and Wanxia last night? His lips were even bitten—ah, the thought was too titillating to bear.
Actually, they had already noticed it during dinner the night before, but it wasn’t obvious at that time. Without looking carefully, one wouldn’t have been able to tell there was a wound. After a night, however, the wound had slowly scabbed over, making it quite conspicuous.
Mu Yingchen, with a furrowed brow, swept a glance over the crowd, who immediately focused intently on the documents in their hands, not daring to utter a word.
After the meeting, Ji Hua, unable to contain his curiosity, followed Mu Yingchen into his office and then sneakily watched him with a thieving grin on his composed face.
Mu Yingchen glanced at him, “If you have something to say, say it. If not, go back to work.”
“Big brother, did you and Wanxia last night—did you…” Ji Hua trailed off, leaving his sentence unfinished.
Mu Yingchen scowled, “Did what?”
Ji Hua, sweating nervously, “Were you guys a bit too intense?” Then his eyes kept darting to the small scar on Mu Yingchen’s lip.
Only then did Mu Yingchen understand what Ji Hua was alluding to. He touched his lip with his finger and then calmly nodded, “What’s that to you?”
Ji Hua wore an ‘I get it’ expression, muttering to himself, “Hehe, none of my business, none of my business.” His curiosity was just too piqued. After saying that, he excitedly walked out.

Watching Ji Hua leave, Mu Yingchen raised his hand and again stroked the tiny scar on his lip, a charming and enchanting smile curling up at the corner of his mouth.
Then he picked up the phone and dialed a series of numbers.
“I want coffee!” The voice was opulent.
Su Wanxia’s hand tightened around her phone, “It’s working hours right now. If you want coffee, you can ask your secretary, OK?” She just didn’t get it—did he have to ask her for coffee? She was busy rushing a design project, and she certainly didn’t have time to run to his office to make him coffee. Those who didn’t know any better might think she was dying to climb onto his towering tree.
“I want the one you make, five minutes,” Mu Yingchen said before hanging up.
Su Wanxia gritted her teeth, no choice but to begrudgingly go make coffee for that cool and arrogantly swaggering CEO.
