Mr. Mu Proposed Again Today-Chapter 99 - Childish Act_1
Chapter 99: Chapter 99 Childish Act_1
Chapter 99 -99 Childish Act_1
Mu Chuyang stood up and greeted Yan Yirou before leaving, “Rourou, I’m leaving.”
“Get lost.”
“Actually, I know you don’t want me to go, but there is something at the company, and I really have to leave. I’ll keep you company another day,” continued Mu Chuyang, not missing a beat.
Yan Yirou didn’t say a word and picked up an apple from the fruit basket on the table and threw it at him.
“I’m so touched, thank you, Rourou,” Mu Chuyang caught the apple thrown at him flawlessly, holding it with a smug look on his face as he left.
Yan Yirou was so irritated, how could this man’s skin be so thick?
“Yirou, since when have you become so close to Chuyang?” Now, Su Wanxia was curious.
“Who’s close to him? Not at all,” Yan Yirou pouted.
“Oh, ‘born’ close,” said Su Wanxia offhandedly.
“Wanxia—-”
“Haha.”
The three of them chatted and laughed, and the morning passed by in a blink of an eye.
After lunch, Su Wanxia said she would go back with them.
Yan Yirou and Gong Yining both looked at her somewhat strangely.
“Wanxia, I feel something’s off; did something happen between you and Mu Yingchen?” Yan Yirou asked, wildly guessing in her heart.
She still remembered the last time Wanxia was hospitalized, Mu Yingchen was there for twenty-four-hour care.
Although this time it wasn’t serious, why hadn’t there been a sight of him, and it was Mu Chuyang who was sent to take Wanxia back?
“No, Yirou,” Su Wanxia’s expression didn’t show any sign of strangeness.
This made Yan Yirou also uncertain if there really was an issue.
“Really nothing?”
“Nothing.”
“Then okay, let’s go.”
And so, Su Wanxia was escorted home by Yan Yirou and Gong Yining, because she didn’t go home on the first evening and had told her mother she was staying at Yirou’s home, so her mother didn’t ask much, thinking they hadn’t seen each other in a while and were just catching up.
The next day, she went to work at the company as usual.
In the following days, she hadn’t seen Mu Yingchen once, nor had they exchanged a single phone call; she just went to and from work every day.
But fortunately, Bai Yudie hadn’t come looking for her again.
She felt that her world had returned to the life abroad, busy and fulfilling, peaceful yet somewhat lonely.
“I told you, there’s an issue, and anyone who can’t see that now is a fool,” Ji Hua said with his arms folded, sitting on Mu Feng’s desk.
“Is it because of that white lotus?” Mu Chuyang nodded to himself.
“It shouldn’t be, weren’t they fine before?” Mu Feng said as he read through the documents in his hand.
“I don’t know, I really haven’t noticed any problems this time,” Ji Hua said as well.
“Sigh, our big brother’s face could almost freeze someone to death.”
“Let it freeze.”
“Only to freeze.”
Meanwhile, in the CEO’s secretary’s office, Bai Yudie stood by the window with a triumphant look on her face, gently lifting the coffee in her hand for a sip, her pink lips curling slightly.
This was what she wanted to see. Although Brother Chen insisted on sending her away because of her interaction with Su Wanxia, in the end, he had no choice but to let her stay because of his mother and grandfather.
She had not been in China long, and he already wanted to send her back; she refused to go!
Hmph! She would show Su Wanxia how Bai Yudie would become Mrs. Mu.
Su Wanxia was very busy during this period because the design project was nearing its end, and every single design schema had to be reviewed carefully to prevent any mistakes.
That night, she worked overtime until past eight o’clock. Just as she reached the parking lot, she ran into Mu Yingchen.
He was followed by someone who looked like a driver; she thought that he probably would never pick her up for work again.
Mu Yingchen stood elegantly beside the car, his obsidian-like eyes fixed intently on Su Wanxia in the distance.
Su Wanxia stood frozen for a moment before she shifted her gaze away, the multitude of bitterness that had built up inside her surged forth the instant she saw Mu Yingchen.
She clutched her purse, ignoring the gaze that lingered on her, and hurriedly walked away.
Mu Yingchen narrowed his eyes, his emotions flickering unpredictably.
Once inside the car, he spoke indifferently to the driver in front, “How’s the investigation on that matter coming along?”
“We still haven’t found any clues.”
“Hurry it up.”
“Yes.”
As Su Wanxia drove out of the underground parking lot, Mu Yingchen’s car just happened to be in front of her.
She secretly sneered and then, without honking or overtaking, silently followed behind his car.
Since their routes home were almost exactly the same, she had to suppress the urge to overtake and follow his erratic pace.
As they were approaching the East District intersection, Mu Yingchen’s car suddenly slowed down—not just a little, but to a crawl.
She frowned, as many drivers behind began honking impatiently. If it weren’t for the showy string of numbers on his license plate, they probably would’ve started cursing him out.
What in the world was he doing?
Thinking this, she attempted to overtake, but—
When she steered to the right, his car moved right as well.
She went left, and his car followed to the left.
She immediately narrowed her eyes; he was clearly messing with her!
Angry, she turned to the right again, and his car promptly shifted right too.
Su Wanxia was furious. Did he find it amusing to tease her?
She glanced at the rearview mirror, noting the long line of cars inching forward and the continuous blare of horns.
She inwardly scoffed. How childish can a grown man be, engaging in such antics? He was practically asking to be scolded…
With that thought, she continued to aggressively press the horn.
Mu Yingchen’s driver was starting to lose his composure…
What was up with President Mu today? He had come up with such a mean trick. Since he was the one driving, well, all right then…

The incessant honking from behind was giving him a headache.
Finally, they reached the intersection at a snail’s pace, just as the light turned red. The driver breathed a sigh of relief, grateful for a moment’s respite from the noise.
As the light turned green, he was about to inquire…
“Back to the villa…” said Mu Yingchen nonchalantly.
“Yes.” The world was finally peaceful again.
Su Wanxia watched as the car in front of her finally resumed normal speed and involuntarily curled her lip.
Then she steered her car in the direction of her home.
By the time she had finished washing up and lay in bed, her phone began to ring…
She picked up the phone and was momentarily taken aback by the two characters on the caller ID; her heart inexplicably tightened.
As she hesitated whether to answer it or not, the ringing stopped. Looking at the missed call display, her finger hesitated but ultimately lacked the courage to call back.
Just as she was about to put the phone away, the screen suddenly lit up again, followed by that familiar and elegant ringtone.
Her finger, seemingly more honest than her brain, unhesitatingly pressed the answer button.
Just as she brought the phone to her ear, that grandiose and magnetic voice reached her: “Have you gone to bed?”
