Chapter 301: Chapter 301: You Can’t Say That About Him

Hector Shaw stood right by her side, a mere turn of the head would reveal her profile. She was staring into the distant woods. Her face, though pale, could not hide the galaxy-like brilliance in her eyes.

When she makes up her mind to do something, nothing can stop her.

"Thinking like this, you’re not just seeing him as a benefactor anymore."

Hector Shaw straightforwardly pointed out.

Seraphina Redgrave was taken aback for a moment, then chuckled lightly, "Yeah, I think so too."

"..."

Seraphina admitted it so bluntly that a strange feeling flashed through Hector Shaw’s heart. His gaze slid from the girl’s face to the distance.

"Hector Shaw, I am very grateful for you coming all this way to save me this time, but considering both sentiment and reason, you shouldn’t be dragged into this matter, so leave, the sooner the better."

This time it was Seraphina Redgrave looking at Hector Shaw’s profile.

"I will temporarily stay at the Kaelor Hotel, waiting for you to be willing to turn back and start anew." Hector Shaw’s expression was resolute, "I absolutely cannot just watch you grow old and die in this place."

"Hector Shaw..."

Seraphina Redgrave frowned, not really agreeing with his notion.

"I don’t believe you can just forget everything that happened on Veridian Isle, Elder Keaton, Aunt Ford, Peaches... Rebuilding Veridian Isle, can you really rest easy letting others handle everything?"

Hector Shaw asked each word with clarity.

Elder Keaton, Aunt Ford, Peaches...

Seraphina Redgrave felt a sting in her nose, "But right now, I’m living as a dead person."

A dead person is destined not to live under the sunshine.

"Since he’s willing to give you a chance at life, why not let you live more freely?" Hector Shaw said somewhat dissatisfied: "Just because of his injuries, are you going to be a caged bird for him for life?"

"Hector Shaw." Seraphina Redgrave’s tone turned cold, "You can’t talk about him like that."

"..."

Hector Shaw was stopped by her words, his face looked unpleasant.

She’s already beginning to defend him.

When Seraphina Redgrave began to say she felt sorry for him, he should have known this day would come.

He took step after step back, his movements more rigid than before, offering a bitter smile: "Seraphina Redgrave, if you ever change your mind, come find me, I’ll always be at Kaelor, I bet you won’t last long here."

Before the final word even fell, Hector Shaw had already turned and left.

"..."

Watching his figure walk away further and further, Seraphina Redgrave lowered her gaze, her silhouette appeared somewhat desolate.

If there were other choices, how could she willingly be a caged bird like this?

But at this point, what options did she have left? If she left recklessly, what about Ethan Sterling? Didn’t the injuries he suffered for her sake become a joke?

...

The endless blue horizon had no end.

The ship constantly rocked.

Darkness surrounded on all sides, nothing could be seen clearly, only the oppressive gloom and a despairing sense of death could be felt.

"Seraphina!"

Ethan Sterling suddenly opened his eyes, his forehead was covered in dense cold sweat, his heart pounding violently, his eyes filled with bloodshot streaks, flashing with profound fear.

"Young Master Sterling."

Dr. Goodwin, who was observing the various fluctuations in Ethan Sterling’s data on the side, immediately put down the instrument in hand and walked over to check on Ethan Sterling’s condition.

He sat up in bed with a spring, Dr. Goodwin couldn’t stop him in time.

A tearing pain came from his chest, Ethan Sterling pressed it with his hand, the bruise on his brow corner became more alarming than before. As he raised his head, he saw Seraphina Redgrave standing by the door.

Her lips were curved, her eyes slowly filled with laughter, her milky white dress and sweater on her body, her shoulder skin was finer than the finest jade.

Just a moment ago, Ethan Sterling’s agitated emotion immediately calmed down, his gaze became gentle, "What are you doing standing there?"

Why not come over?

"..."

Dr. Goodwin stood next to him, upon hearing this, doubt and confusion flashed through his eyes, he turned his head along Ethan Sterling’s gaze.

The doorway was empty.

Not a shadow of a person in sight.

Ethan Sterling’s lips were still curled, when he reopened his eyes, the familiar figure at the door dispersed like smoke before his eyes, disappearing without a trace.

His pupils contracted, then he saw Dr. Goodwin, who was staring at the doorway in surprise.

Their gazes met.

The room was instantly quiet to the point where no sound could be heard, the air nearly solidified.

Dr. Goodwin stood in place, awkwardly swallowing, thousands of ways to speak flashed through his mind.

Scrutinizingly, he asked: "Young Master Sterling, when did you start seeing hallucinations? Or was this just the first time?"

Before he finished speaking, Dr. Goodwin was interrupted by Ethan Sterling’s harsh action, he fiercely grabbed Dr. Goodwin by the collar, pulling his head down, staring at him fiercely, "You must cure me!"

The needle was still in his hand, the movement almost causing the blood to reverse flow.

"!"

Dr. Goodwin was strangled to the point where he couldn’t speak.

"I absolutely cannot have an episode!" Ethan Sterling’s fingers tightened more, "Did you hear me?"

Once he wished he could quickly have an episode, but now, he could only hope never again.

Only his little friend agreed to stay forever by his side, if an episode suddenly happened now, how could that be!

"..."

Dr. Goodwin’s face was flushed red.

Ethan Sterling glared at him fiercely, finally loosening his grip a bit, feeling the air enter his lungs, Dr. Goodwin hurriedly said, "I understand, I understand, Young Master Sterling, I will use all my strength to ensure that won’t happen!"

Given such a guarantee, Ethan Sterling finally released his grip, saying coldly, "Don’t tell Seraphina Redgrave about what happened just now."

"Understood."

Dr. Goodwin nodded respectfully.

"Where is she?"

His tone carried an indistinguishable panic.

"The young lady went out, perhaps feeling a bit stifled here."

Dr. Goodwin said, and then instinctively stepped back two steps, even though Ethan Sterling was now physically weak, the pressure emanating from him still made people feel breathless.

As long as she’s around.

Ethan Sterling quietly exhaled, then decisively pulled the needle out of the back of his hand, lifting the blanket intending to get out of bed.

Dr. Goodwin hurriedly advised, "Young Master Sterling, your injuries are too severe, you must stay in bed for rest, otherwise the wounds on your body won’t recover quickly."

Ethan Sterling paused his action, "Where is she?"

"Miss Redgrave’s most serious external injury is the gunshot wound on her left shoulder, but I’ve already treated it, so you don’t need to worry too much about that." He thought for a moment and added: "But whether YJ520 has any other side effects on the human body, I need to obtain the pills for further research."

"Then I’ll have someone bring you the medication later."

Ethan Sterling said straightforwardly, then still lifted the blanket, intending to walk out the door.

"..."

Dr. Goodwin stood there, inner thoughts roaring.

Does being a doctor mean being this humble? Running around when bones are broken, does it take being completely unable to walk?!

Such a disobedient patient, he truly wanted to give up, he wanted to resign! Leave this place!
