Mr. Sterling, Mrs. Sterling is Multifaceted!-Chapter 328: Driving Practice
Seraphina Redgrave turned her head to look at him and found that his tone remained the same, but his previous demeanor had disappeared, which eased her mind a lot.
Upon hearing this, she curled her lips, crossed her arms, and twisted her wrists, "Since First Young Master Sterling trusts me so much, I certainly won’t let you down."
Ethan Sterling raised an eyebrow and glanced at her, "Do you think I’ve always underestimated you?"
"Not exactly underestimated, but I can feel you’re dismissing me."
Seraphina said softly, observed the surrounding road conditions for a moment, then walked down the slope.
Ethan stood atop, watching Seraphina’s silhouette gradually fade away. Fool, he wasn’t underestimating; he was just worried she’d leave him.
This time, however, he was personally sending her off to fulfill her ambitions.
Seraphina walked to the spot Ethan pointed out. Parked at the side of the road was a familiar sports car, the world’s only AI sports car.
As she approached, the car’s lights turned on.
"..."
Only then did Seraphina realize that this sports car would be the only sacrificial item in the performance the day after tomorrow.
She got into the car, fastened her seatbelt, and the intelligent system activated. On the screen, Lynn’s image appeared and her gentle voice filled the cabin, "Beautiful owner, Lynn has been waiting for you for a long time now."
It sounded almost like she was pouting.
This was Seraphina’s first car, where Ethan had once taught her how to drive, but in two days, she would crash this car into a huge rock with her own hands.
Seraphina placed her hands on the steering wheel, feeling a strange sadness. No matter how intelligent Lynn was, she couldn’t guess the thoughts of humans or feel Seraphina’s sadness. She asked, "Master, why are you not speaking? Should I tell you a story I recently learned?"
Just as Lynn finished speaking, the passenger door was suddenly pulled open, and Ethan stepped in.
Lynn immediately recognized him and detected fear in her originally gentle voice, "Hello, Mr. Sterling."
"Why are you here?"
Seraphina was a bit surprised.
"I taught you how to drive, so I have to finish teaching you." Ethan stated while fastening his seatbelt.
"But your injuries..."
He had broken ribs and a fractured leg, definitely not healed yet.
"Enough with the nonsense, drive." Ethan interrupted her.
"..."
He truly did not care for his own body.
Seraphina, feeling helpless, had no choice but to start the car and turn on the headlights to illuminate the road ahead. Her hands deftly maneuvered the steering wheel and gear stick, pressing the accelerator, and the car began to move.
Five minutes later.
Leaning against the backrest, Ethan glanced sideways at Seraphina, noting her calm demeanor, and said, "Can you believe it? Even an old man running in the park could be faster than you right now."
The emotion she needed to convey during tomorrow’s performance had to be urgent and fearful. In her current state, no one would believe there was no premeditation. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖
"..."
That statement almost made Seraphina cough up blood, and she retorted, "Then you should get out of the car so I can go faster."
"Just drive, you can’t kill me," Ethan said fiercely.
"..."
Seraphina seemed to ignore him, maintaining her speed.
"You piece of junk, accelerate,"
Ethan commanded Lynn.
Lynn dared not argue and immediately increased the speed. The next second, the car shot forward like a balloon losing air.
With their seatbelts fastened, the sudden acceleration jolted them back, frightening Seraphina as she quickly adjusted her steering, her beautiful eyebrows knitting together, "Lynn, I’m your master, you only obey my commands."
"Uuhh..."
Lynn was aggrieved but remained silent.
"Alright, let me control the speed."
Unable to withstand Ethan’s recklessness, Seraphina relented, gripping the steering wheel tightly and flooring the accelerator.
The speed was now even faster, and on the desolate road, only a flash of white and red streaking forward could be seen.
In the stillness of night, only the low growl of the sports car echoed down the road.
A truly spectacular sight.
Tall trees flew by, their shadows stretching away under the silver moonlight cloaking the distant mountains.
Seraphina managed the steering wheel, with Ethan’s breathy commands nearby, quickly comprehending and mastering them.
Her shifting became quicker, and the tires screeched loudly against the ground at the turns.
Ethan and Seraphina were involuntarily thrown forward, their seatbelts straining against them. Even Seraphina felt uncomfortable, not to mention Ethan, whose complexion showed pain, his once soft breathing now loud.
Nervous, Seraphina instinctively moved to brake, but Ethan, anticipating her thought, shouted, "Keep driving!"
"..."
Left with no choice, Seraphina maintained her speed, not daring to slacken. Focusing entirely on the road ahead, she tightly gripped their lives, ensuring no mistakes were made.
Lap after lap, she repeated the course.
Eventually, well-practiced, she no longer needed Ethan’s guidance.
Ethan, holding his chest with one hand, suppressed the discomfort and gazed at the girl beside him.
Seraphina sat behind the wheel, her focus unwavering on the road. The car’s lights highlighted her delicate facial features, like a student yet adeptly handling the sports car.
Any lapse in concentration could result in them crashing into the roadside trees, perhaps plunging down the mountain, leading to their demise together.
A wicked thought briefly flitted through Ethan’s mind, secretly wishing for Seraphina to make a mistake so that they could perish together—a fitting end indeed.
But she swiftly grasped each key point, without error, carefully calculating the car’s trajectory.
Maneuvering through a bend, the car tilted dramatically, smoke rising from tire friction, yet the two remained securely seated.
This was Seraphina’s true capability.
After two years on Veridian Isle, she knew better than anyone how to survive.
In the days ahead, even without him, she could live well, unconquered by anyone.
A caged bird was merely a figment of his imagination.
Ethan watched her focused profile, a complex mix of emotions within him.
As dawn began to break, Seraphina had finally grasped the basics of driving necessary for escape, leaving two more days for practice.
She gradually brought the car to a stop, turning to Ethan, whose condition was exceedingly poor, hand pressed against his chest.
