Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 707: Breakup Trip
Zachary Wilson: "That depends on how you perform. You shouldn’t have said those things to her and made her suspicious today."
Fanny leaned against him, smiling: "Didn’t you handle it easily enough? Besides, she didn’t suspect you. I know you’re the best at dealing with these things. You’re involved with so many girls at once, and you handle each one seamlessly, don’t you?"
Zachary Wilson pulled Fanny away. "Go back to your room."
Fanny looked at him discontentedly and muttered, "Zach, you’re really heartless."
Lana Holloway sat listlessly by the bedside. She couldn’t forgive something like this, nor could she pretend nothing happened and continue her relationship with Zachary Wilson.
She knew she would be heartbroken over this relationship, but she wouldn’t deceive herself into thinking there was still a chance for a turnaround.
Taking out her phone, she looked up nearby addresses, figured out her current location, then searched for travel guides online and found a hotel she thought was suitable.
After packing her things, she quietly left at dawn while it was still dim outside.
She took a taxi straight to the hotel. The room wasn’t cheap, but the location was great, and the view from the room’s floor-to-ceiling window was beautiful.
Lana Holloway told herself to take it easy. After all, she had never been to this place before, so she might as well treat it as a solo trip, eat and drink as she pleased, and enjoy a bit of indulgence as a way of relaxing and enjoying herself.
Zachary Wilson woke up at seven, wanting to let Lana rest a bit longer, so he went downstairs alone to prepare breakfast.
After preparing breakfast, he went upstairs to call Lana Holloway to get up, only to find the room empty.
The quilt was folded neatly, and the room’s items were arranged tidily, as if nothing had been disturbed since he last tidied up.
"Lana?"
Zachary Wilson went to the bathroom to check. The door was open, and there was nobody inside.
He looked down at the spot by the wall; he remembered placing her suitcase there last night, but now it was gone.
Only then did Zachary Wilson have a bad feeling. He hurriedly walked over and knocked on Fanny’s room door, asking her: "Did you see where she went?"
Fanny appeared still groggy from sleep, shrugged, and said, "I’ve been asleep since I got back to my room last night."
Zachary Wilson frowned and went downstairs, immediately picking up his phone to call Lana Holloway.
As Lana Holloway was having breakfast in the hotel restaurant, she saw Zachary Wilson’s call, let the phone ring for a while, and then hung up.
Zachary Wilson glanced at his phone and immediately dialed again, with the same result — she hung up.
Zachary Wilson didn’t understand why Lana Holloway suddenly left, and it was unlike her not to answer his calls. Could she have encountered some danger while out in the morning?
But even if she had plans that required her to go out in the morning, she wouldn’t need to take her suitcase with her.
His phone quickly buzzed with a text message from Zachary Wilson: Where did you go, Lana? Why aren’t you answering your phone?
Lana Holloway looked at the message on her phone, paused, put down her glass of milk, and replied: Let’s break up, Zach.
Zachary Wilson: What happened? Why are you saying such strange things all of a sudden?
Lana Holloway didn’t explain the reason, because she believed Zachary was smart enough to figure it out himself, rendering an explicit explanation unnecessary and awkward for both sides.
She simply replied: Don’t worry about me, and don’t look for me anymore. Please don’t contact me in the future either.
Zachary Wilson, anxious, tried calling her again, but Lana Holloway still didn’t pick up, and soon his calls couldn’t get through anymore. She didn’t respond to his further messages either.
Lana Holloway’s sudden change obviously had its reasons.
Zachary Wilson went upstairs, kicked open Fanny’s room door, and asked her irately: "You talked to her, didn’t you? What did you say to her?"
Fanny looked at him, bewildered: "Zach, what are you talking about? What happened?"
Frustrated, Zachary knew that questioning her now was pointless. The pressing issue was to find Lana and explain things clearly to her.
After a night of internal struggle, Lana Holloway found herself much calmer.
Once she firmly decided to break up with Zachary, her mind wasn’t as conflicted and tangled anymore.
Lana Holloway didn’t immediately change her flight ticket back home. She followed Zachary’s travel itinerary, visiting those attractions on her own.
Never having spent Christmas abroad, she decided to stick with the original plan to stay until the holiday ended before returning.
Reflecting on this relationship, it all seemed pretty absurd to Lana Holloway.
While in their home country, Zachary Wilson never expressed any feelings for her, but he must have known she was fond of him. Yet she never spoke about it, and neither did he make it clear.
When he decided to study abroad, he suddenly confessed his feelings. At that time, she thought it was a carefully considered decision, assuming he cared, and was offering a commitment before he left, fearing she wouldn’t wait for his return.
After deciding to date, he left for abroad within days, and since then, they only stayed connected through their phones.
During love-related holidays, even though he couldn’t be by her side, he always sent gifts to her, and she was content, holding endless expectations...
This time, deciding to visit him abroad left her nervous and excited for days, thinking she would have the most romantic memory, only for it to turn into a solo breakup trip.
Norman Sutton arrived at the airport when it was a bit past six in the local evening.
After checking in at the hotel with the group, they had no scheduled activities for the night, so after dinner, everyone returned to their rooms to adjust to the time difference in preparation for tomorrow night’s competition.
Staying in his room with no interest in sleeping, Norman Sutton took out his phone to check Lana Holloway’s social media updates.
Wanting to see what the two of them were up to, Norman saw that not only were there no new affectionate posts, but yesterday’s update had disappeared too.
It’s said that girls usually delete posts when they’re upset.
Deleting posts about a boyfriend usually means they’ve either had a fight or broken up.
With this thought, Norman Sutton chuckled gleefully and then texted Lana Holloway: Why no love posts today? Show off your boyfriend a bit.
At that moment, Lana Holloway was looking at a map on her phone when Norman’s message popped up at the top of the screen.
Not in the mood to chat with Norman Sutton about such matters, she chose to ignore it.
But soon, Norman sent more messages: Where are you? I’m near Leewood University.
Norman Sutton: The match is at Leewood University tomorrow; you can come and watch.
Norman Sutton: Tickets are self-funded.
Norman Sutton: But you probably can’t get any at this point.
Norman Sutton: If you beg me, I might still leave one for you.
Norman Sutton: Cat got your tongue?
Lana Holloway couldn’t help but wonder at his typing speed, messages firing off like a machine gun.
She hadn’t even had a chance to open the chat window to reply when he called her...
