Chapter 815: Chapter 815: Who Was That Girl?

Julian Bishop couldn’t make sense of it.

Not knowing the identity of the girl from last night was the biggest mystery.

What puzzled him even more was why the girl chose to leave secretly?

Typically, if a girl voluntarily had such a relationship with him, she would be interested in him, and upon waking, would certainly hold him accountable or something.

If it was because she drank too much last night and the relationship happened by accident, she would wait for him to wake up to discuss things.

Why did it seem like she was afraid of being discovered and chose to sneak away?

Another question was why his body reacted in such a strange way?

Normally, during intoxication, such oddities wouldn’t occur.

Upon reflection, it seemed the only answer was the alcohol was problematic.

The culprit was most likely Faye Xavier, who was always sitting beside him last night.

Because while he played games, the alcohol he drank was always poured by Faye Xavier.

And such a unscrupulous act did indeed seem like something Faye Xavier would do.

Around eleven in the morning, Faye Xavier finally crawled out from the tent of that bob-haired girl, looking disheveled.

With his eyes squinted against the light outside the tent, he immediately saw Julian Bishop standing motionless before his tent.

Startled, Faye Xavier shivered, and once regaining composure, said, "Mr. Bishop, why are you here? You scared me."

Julian Bishop expressionlessly asked him, "You don’t know why I’m looking for you?"

Faye Xavier feigned ignorance with a chuckle, "How would I know why you’re looking for me? Did Master Shane give us work assignments?"

Julian Bishop: "It has nothing to do with work."

Faye Xavier: "Then... what is it? Are you calling me to lunch?"

Julian Bishop asked directly, "Do you still have any of the wine from last night?"

Faye Xavier froze, his smile stiffening, wondering if Julian Bishop knew everything?

Thinking the wine worked well, thus asking for more?

He probed, "Did Luc tell you everything?"

Julian Bishop was silently analyzing, realizing that Morgan Quinn was also involved.

Seeing Julian Bishop’s silence, Faye Xavier assumed he was right.

Since Luc had already clarified everything to Julian Bishop, he felt relieved and boldly hugged Julian Bishop’s shoulder, asking with a grin, "How was it, Mr. Bishop? Did the wine work well? Feeling like you’re eighteen again?"

After not receiving a response from Julian Bishop, Faye Xavier looked up and noticed Julian Bishop’s gaze had turned a few degrees colder.

His smile faltered, hesitantly releasing his hand from Julian Bishop’s shoulder, and stuttered, "Mr. Bishop, what... what are you doing? Why are you looking at me like that?"

Julian Bishop: "So the wine was deliberately given by you, wasn’t it?"

Only then did Faye Xavier realize he’d been led into a trap, and began to play dumb with a silly smile, "Wha... what wine? Mr. Bishop, what are you talking about?"

Julian Bishop abruptly switched topics, saying, "The Starfield branch preparations are almost complete. Master Shane intends to select someone from you and Luc to go over there to work."

Faye Xavier frowned upon hearing this, "That place is still under development, nothing but barren land... No entertainment venues, can’t even find a place for a drink, let Luc go!"

Julian Bishop continued, "Master Shane wants me to make the decision."

Faye Xavier immediately smiled ingratiatingly, "Mr. Bishop, we’ve always had a good relationship, right? I’ve always been obedient, haven’t I? Please allow me to continue serving you by your side, okay?"

Julian Bishop coldly looked at Faye Xavier, saying, "If you don’t clear up the wine issue, I’ll go ask Luc, whoever clarifies it can stay at headquarters, think about it."

After speaking, Julian Bishop turned and intended to leave, but Faye Xavier immediately grabbed Julian Bishop, quickly saying without thinking, "I’ve thought it over! I’ll tell you everything! The wine was Luc’s, the idea was his too, he said it was to benefit you, I even advised him that our Mr. Bishop wasn’t that kind of person, but he wouldn’t listen!"

Julian Bishop eyed Faye Xavier with skepticism, "But it seemed my wine was always poured by you."

Faye Xavier: "Luc encouraged me to, promising to treat me to meals for a month if I helped him. I was seduced into doing such a foolish act, Mr. Bishop, I know I was wrong."

Julian Bishop naturally didn’t fully believe Faye Xavier’s nonsense, but just continued to question, "What happened next?"

Faye Xavier unhesitatingly deflected blame, "Luc then prepared to send a woman to you, specifically the brunette who sat next to you while playing games, but when she went over, you had the door locked, so she couldn’t get in and had to leave empty-handed. But Mr. Bishop, how did you resolve the issue? I heard from Luc, the wine effect was quite strong, how did you manage on your own? Pretty impressive, huh? How’d you do that?"

Julian Bishop glared at Faye Xavier, who immediately retracted his curiosity, changing the subject, "Um... that’s about it, Mr. Bishop. Do you have any other questions? If not, I’m going to grab some food, really hungry."

Julian Bishop didn’t respond, contemplating deeply as he turned to walk away.

Faye Xavier’s previous words certainly contained some lies, but towards the end about the woman not entering the room appeared true, as he himself remembered indeed locking the door.

The mystery remained unsolved—who could the woman be?

After analysis, he considered the chances higher for the girl called Lana Holloway or Vanessa Sterling.

Because they both seemed to carry relatively reserved and conservative personalities, having slept with a stranger overnight would feel shameful to talk about openly, thus sneaking away and pretending nothing happened.

Should he also keep this secret buried in his heart?

He truly still didn’t know—after discovering who the girl really was, what could he do?

Forcing the girl to marry him over this matter wouldn’t be fair to her. She likely didn’t like him and didn’t want responsibilities, hence the escape.

But if left alone, he felt guilty towards the girl, just hoping it wouldn’t affect her future life.

Nonetheless, Julian Bishop still wanted to find out who she was.

The whole day, Julian Bishop silently observed each potential subject, finding them seemingly unaffected.

If according to his analysis, it should be a reserved conservative girl, post such an incident, she wouldn’t behave as if nothing happened, would she? Surely there’d be some sign of unease.

Yet Lana Holloway and Vanessa Sterling kept lively company with the children, playing happily, seemingly unaffected.

Could he have analyzed something wrong?

Was she just a girl similar to Faye Xavier, simply seeking thrill without caring who it was, avoiding emotional entanglements, hence leaving alone afterward?
