  Introduction to Chapter 1

In June of the fourth year of Jianwen in the Wei Dynasty, the army of King Yan invaded the capital, a fire broke out in the palace, and Emperor Jianwen burned himself to death.

After King Yan occupied the capital, he slaughtered wantonly. All civil servants and military generals who had advised Jianwen Emperor and refused to surrender were all liquidated.

Fang Xiaoru, a scholar of the Hanlin Academy, was ordered to draft an imperial edict for enthronement, but Fang Xiaoru firmly refused to accept it, and he was agitated with each other. King Yan was enraged and ordered his ten clans to be punished.

Outside the Jubao Gate in the capital, countless people involved are killed on the execution platform every day. The bluestone brick floor is stained red with blood, and the water is not clean.

There were 847 dead in the company.

There is a Zhuangzi in the suburbs of Beijing.

A young woman with a beautiful face is leaning on the window looking at the sky, her clothes are plain, and her eyebrows are slightly frowned.

The face is full of unresolved melancholy.

Since she was pregnant and sent to Zhuangzi half a year ago, it has been nearly a month since she gave birth to the baby. When she sent a letter back to her home, her husband's family never heard back, nor did they send anyone to see the baby.

Thinking that today is the day when her elderly parents and family members were exiled to Sichuan and Sichuan, her eyes turned red again.

Trapped in this Zhuangzi, unable to send her loved ones for a ride, the woman felt a dull pain in her heart. I don't know if the nanny gave the things to the parents.

Outside Zhuangzi, a green cloth carriage quietly stopped at the door. Three people got out of the car, a richly dressed middle-aged woman led a young woman and a servant.

The three of them entered Zhuangzi, immediately dispersed their servants and entered the inner courtyard.

On the big bed in the east wing of the inner courtyard, a girl was waking up from a sound sleep. Rubbing on the pillow, he refused to get up.

Squinting her eyes, she softly called out: "Nurse..."

   No response.

The girl groaned again, and then pouted and sat up from the comfortable bed.

Rubbing his eyes with two white, tender and fleshy hands, his big almond eyes blinked to get rid of some drowsiness, and he sat for a while before fully waking up.

The girl rolled over and got out of bed, and while calling "nanny", she grabbed the neatly folded clothes beside the bed and put them on her body, put on her shoes, and went out of the room.

Seeing that the yard was quiet and no servants were seen, the girl tilted her head, a little annoyed.

Hmph, this group of damned servants must be dodging again.

The girl stomped her feet angrily, and ran to find her mother. Walking outside the mother's room, I heard voices inside, and stopped in my footsteps.

In the main room, the atmosphere was a bit weird.

The young woman stared blankly at the tray, her face full of disbelief, her hands clenched tightly. She thought that today her mother-in-law came to visit after receiving the news that she had given birth to a son and grandson, but she didn't expect...

"Mother, why are you here today...does your husband know?"

The middle-aged woman looked impatient: "Of course I discussed this with Wen Bi. Right now, this is the best way."

The young woman shook her head: "Impossible! My Li family has been a scholarly family for many generations, and there has never been a precedent for a daughter as a concubine."

   "Then you set this precedent!"

"Impossible! The daughters of the Li family only have dead wives, and no living concubines!"

   "Then you will die!"

After the middle-aged woman finished speaking, she gestured to the servant woman standing behind her with her eyes.

The servant woman was signaled, and quickly took the poisoned wine from the tray, and was about to feed it to Mrs. Li.

How could Mrs. Li be willing? Struggling like hell.

Another woman stepped forward to help hold her down...

   "Mom...uh..."

The girl was shocked by the scene in the room for a long time, unable to recover.

Before he could say "mother", someone covered his mouth and nose from behind.

In the house, Mrs. Li was terrified and struggling desperately. She can't die, the two children are still young, so she can't lose her mother.

The middle-aged woman saw her struggling, and gritted her teeth: "Give it up!"

The two people got the order, one on the left and the other on the right firmly suppressed Li Shi, and poured poisonous wine into her mouth. Li gritted her teeth, but refused to submit.

Outside the house, the girl stared wide-eyed, terrified: "Um..."

shook his head desperately, no! mother!

Li Shi looked out of the house while struggling, and his eyes instantly widened.

  囡囡?

  Why are you here?

If the mother-in-law and Mrs. Wu find out that the girl saw this scene, the girl might not survive.

Ms. Li was terrified, her whole body trembled, and tears welled up in her eyes. Looking at her daughter who was trying to rush in from the outside of the room, she gradually stopped struggling.

  Mother!

The girl's mouth and nose were covered, she couldn't make a sound, she couldn't see the people behind her, her little hands were slapping desperately, and her two calves kept kicking.

Not only did the man refuse to let her go, he tightly covered her mouth and nose without saying anything, and forcibly carried her away.

Hold her all the way to a secluded place: "Shh, sister, don't talk."

   Nanny?

Seeing that it was the nanny, the girl was about to throw herself into the nanny's arms and cry.

Nurse hurriedly covered her mouth and nose again.

"Well…"

The nanny was sad in her heart: "Sister, don't talk, don't cry."

Seeing that the sister had calmed down, she nodded to herself again, expressing that she would be quiet and not cry, the nanny almost rolled down her eyes.

hurriedly blinked away tears, and comforted in a low voice: "Sister, be good, wait here for the nanny, the nanny will go and take your brother out."

   "Ah, brother!"

Nurse patted her sister's shoulder to comfort her, then turned around and walked quietly into the inner courtyard.

After a while, he hurried out with a swaddling baby in his arms.

The girl trotted over quickly, tiptoeing to look at her infant brother. Seeing his younger brother sleeping obediently, he grabbed the nanny's dress, and the two hurriedly ran out of the village along the wall.

After running a few miles, I heard movement behind me: "Chasing! Look around carefully!"

"yes."

   "Sister, run!"

The two gritted their teeth and ran for a few more miles. Seeing the footsteps coming closer, the nanny was so anxious that layers of sweat broke out on her forehead. Seeing the thick grass in front of him, he hurriedly took his sister to hide in it.

Put the swaddle in her arms into the girl's arms, and said anxiously: "Sister, you hold the young master here and wait for the nanny, and the nanny will lure them away."

The big and the young cannot escape. Madam must have been murdered, so we can't let my sister and young master suffer any more.

   "Nurse..."

The girl watched the nanny run away in the opposite direction, and Zhuangzi's servants also chased after hearing the movement, biting their lips, their eyes full of hatred.

I don't know how long she lay on the ground. Seeing that the nanny hadn't arrived for a long time, the girl raised her small body carefully and looked around.

Looking in the direction of Zhuangzi again, seeing no movement, he gritted his teeth, got out of the grass with his younger brother in his arms, and ran to the opposite place of Zhuangzi.

   "Look over there!"

   "Search everything carefully!"

When the girl heard the movement, her two short legs ran so fast that she didn't dare to look back.

A carriage was walking unhurriedly on the road, and two young guards were sitting on the shaft of the carriage, one on the left and one on the right.

"Master, some men are chasing a child."

No answer from inside the car.

The loud guard paused, raised his whip again, and the carriage continued to move forward.

In the compartment, a young man with a serious face, with a pale face, leaned against the wall with his eyes closed. One leg is stretched out, the other leg is bent, and the right hand rests on the knee to support the forehead.

I don't know if I fell asleep or I don't want to talk to him.

After a while, the boy frowned and opened his eyes. His eyes were cold.

Lazily raised his hand to lift the curtain of the car, and looked out.

In the forest, a girl hugged a baby tightly, and fled forward in a panic.

The branches and leaves scratched the girl's dress, messed up the girl's hair, and brushed the girl's delicate cheeks and arms. The girl gasped heavily, and her pace became slower and slower.

The boy looked at the baby in the girl's arms again, and seemed to be able to hear a weak cry.

The young man stared blankly, not knowing what to think, his eyes suddenly became colder and colder.

"Li Yi, go and have a look." The boy said lightly.

"yes!"

The guard who called Li Yi immediately fell from the shaft of the car, moved a few times, and disappeared in an instant.

After a while, Li Yi came back and reported from outside the carriage: "Master, my subordinates have led people away. The girl is safe."

There was a faint response in the carriage: "Well, let's go."

"yes."

Li turned over and sat on the shaft of the cart, flicked the rein: "Drive", and the horse pulling the cart began to trot.
