  Chapter 22 Wonton

"A Yue, remember to move all these."

In the wharf where people come and go, porters in short brown clothes are constantly moving goods to the ship.

Supervisor Zhang directed the actions of the porters, moving rice bags and wooden boxes in an orderly manner.

Among the porters, there was a tall figure standing out from the crowd, a full half a head taller than the people next to him, and he carried far more goods on his shoulders than the others.

   What's even more incredible.

   This is a woman.

Murong Yue heard the supervisor's words, and looked in the direction he pointed. The goods on the carriage were piled up to the brim, and looked very heavy.

Withdrawing his gaze, Murong Yue continued to walk forward, sweat dripping on the ground, which was quickly evaporated by the sun.

Others have seven or eight people to carry a cart of goods, only Murong Yue has to carry a cart by himself.

It's not that Supervisor Zhang is targeting her.

On the contrary, this is what Murong Yue himself requested.

Because the more she moves, the more money she gets, and the more she can eat.

Murong Yue hasn't eaten enough for half a month.

Pedestrians passing by looked sideways, they had never seen such a tall woman.

Facing everyone's pointing and pointing, Murong Yue didn't respond, and continued to carry the goods wheezingly.

Murong Yue has grown rapidly since he was a child. When he encountered this situation at the beginning, he felt a little uncomfortable in his heart and hid from seeing people. Later, he was frightened by hunger, and his mind was only thinking about eating.

As for other gossip, she doesn't care about these things, as long as you don't go hungry.

Sunset, the people on the pier are almost dispersed.

It was going to be dark soon, and the goods had been transported. Supervisor Zhang walked up to Murong Yue, and gave her today's wages.

   "Take it."

Murong Yue took the cloth bag, poured out the silver and two copper coins inside, put it in his bosom, and returned the cloth bag to Supervisor Zhang.

   "Thank you Uncle."

"Thank you so much, go back and eat well, don't be hungry."

Supervisor Zhang looked at the girl he had watched and grew up with, feeling pity in his heart.

He stretched out his hand, but found that he couldn't reach Murong Yue's shoulder, so he retracted his hand embarrassingly, and put his hands behind his back.

"Ah Yue, your talent shouldn't stay here, go to martial arts, that's your way out."

"Working as a porter on the dock all day, you can't earn much money."

Murong Yue lowered his head and didn't speak.

It’s not that she hasn’t been there before. She was hungry for half a year before and saved money to worship in the martial arts gym. After two consecutive months, she didn’t even get the basics of martial arts, and was kicked out in the end.

   "Uncle, I'm hungry."

Supervisor Zhang sighed, and said helplessly: "Go, go, be careful on the road."

Leaving the pier, Murong Yue found a small stall behind his own street and sat down.

The tables and chairs here are very small, making it uncomfortable for Murong Yue to sit on.

But the food here is cheap, she can eat more.

   "Grandma, pickles and steamed buns."

Only at this time, Murong Yue's voice will be higher, full of joy, because this is the happiest time of her day.

She hummed the song her mother taught her and waited for the food to arrive.

   "Come on, come on."

The stall owner is an old woman with gray temples. A few years ago, her son suffered from epilepsy and was paralyzed at home, and her wife passed away.

A drawer of steamed buns was brought out, hot and steaming.

Murong Yue swallowed, and impatiently picked up a steamed bun, broke it, and stuffed it into his mouth.

Grandma patted Murong Yue on the back, "Eat slowly, don't choke."

After finishing speaking, I hurried back to continue steaming steamed buns.

That drawer of steamed buns is enough to feed several people, but grandma knows that it is just an appetizer for this child.

As time went by, there were more and more empty bamboo grates beside Murong Yue, so that the grandmother had to take back the bamboo grates after eating, because the remaining bamboo grates had been used up.

The sky was getting dark, and Grandma was already sweating profusely.

   "Grandma, I'm full."

Murong Yue put down the bamboo grate, then used the remaining half of the steamed bun to **** up the pickles on the dish, and then threw it into his mouth.

   "Okay, come again next time."

"good."

Murong Yue got up to leave, turned her head and touched her flat belly, feeling depressed.

   Not full.

It's just that her wages today are only in the early half and early twos, and she has already spent all of them.

Half taels of silver is already a lot, and ordinary porters only earn a few tens of cash a day.

Grandma's life is not easy, so Murong Yue will leave consciously every time the money is spent.

Walking on the way home, I smelled the fragrance from the road ahead, and my mouth kept secreting saliva.

Quickening his pace unconsciously, Murong Yue found out that it was a wonton stall. Big wontons with thin skin and thick meat were thrown into the pot, exuding an attractive aroma in the crystal clear soup.

His stomach growled again in disbelief. Since his mother passed away, Murong Yue has never eaten wonton again.

Not because of anything else, wontons are too expensive.

The money to buy a bowl of wontons is enough to buy a dozen steamed buns.

   Wontons are not very filling.

After reluctantly looking at the wonton stand, Murong Yue forced himself to turn around.

Go home and go home, if you can’t see it, you won’t want to eat it.

"Girl, come and have a bowl of wontons, our wontons are delicious!"

Although the stall owner was amazed by Murong Gao's tall figure, he still tried to greet her.

  The leaving figure paused.

Murong Yue scooped up a wonton, put it in his mouth and blew it, and then lightly bit off half of it. The deliciousness of the wonton filling and the slippery feeling of the wonton skin are really wonderful.

Woohoo, how could it be so delicious.

After drinking the soup in the bowl, Murong Yue smacked his mouth contentedly.

After a while, she suddenly realized.

A bowl of wontons costs more than ten yuan, which means she ate less than a dozen steamed buns.

Annoyance and regret welled up in my heart.

Even the wontons I ate just now are not fragrant.

"Staller, bring another ten bowls of wontons and serve them to this girl."

A gentle male voice sounded, and Murong Yue looked in the direction of the voice. He was a handsome gentleman who looked like a scholar, but he was carrying a long knife behind his back.

"Thank you, I will definitely return the money to you."

Murong Yue wept with a sad face, his voice was like a mosquito.

At first Murong Yue resolutely refused, but when the stall owner brought out the wontons, Murong Yue only saw the steaming wontons in his eyes.

After eating, Murong Yue regained his sanity, and was in a daze.

This person is too bad, he only ate less than a dozen steamed buns, but now he has to eat less than a hundred.

Murong is about to become depressed.

Chen Yuyan sat across from her holding the knife, laughing from the bottom of her heart.

Why is this girl so funny.

"I told you that you don't have to pay back the money, I'm here to find you."

"ah?"

Just now Murong Yue was so engrossed in eating wontons that he didn't hear what Chen Yuyan said at all.

Chen Yuyan didn't care, approached her with a smile, and said it again:

"Your mother is a close friend of the elders in my family. She asked our family to take good care of you before she passed away."

"Then why don't I just come here?"

Thanks to book friends Yushanyoufeng, Mengruofanghua, Nanchang and book friends 20220310184135963 for their recommendation tickets

   I love you all.
