Multiple Personalities-Chapter 472: Uncle Li?
However, before they could immerse themselves in a moment of joy, new dangers surged forth like a roaring tide. The once calm forest now felt as if stirred by an invisible hand, emitting a strange rustling noise. Suddenly, a swarm of black magical beasts frantically poured out from every corner of the woods.
These small magical beasts moved with extreme agility, darting and leaping through the forest like phantoms. Their open mouths revealed teeth sharp as cold blades, glinting ominously in the dim light. Their eyes shone with a greedy and vicious light, staring at everyone as if they had already become prey.
"Another batch of magical beasts is coming, everyone prepare for battle!" the mysterious figure shouted loudly, his voice resonating like a great bell through the air. His hands swiftly formed seals again, and golden light burst from his fingertips, instantly enveloping everyone, as if cloaking them in golden armor. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Lin Yu gripped the tree branch tightly in his hand, though it seemed so fragile before the formidable magical beasts, but his eyes revealed unyielding determination. "Come on, little beasts, I'm not afraid of you!" he gritted his teeth, his voice filled with fighting spirit. In his heart, a torrent of hot blood surged, telling himself that he must not retreat, but fight these beasts to the end, to seek the Sword of Light, to protect everyone's hope.
Shen Jingqi brandished the dagger in his hand, letting out a thunderous roar: "Watch as I turn you little creatures into mincemeat!" His eyes revealed ferocity and determination, like an enraged lion. Every move was filled with power, as if pouring all his anger and strength into the dagger to wipe out these vile beasts entirely.
Li Baiyu swiftly formed seals with her hands, blue lights flickering at her fingertips like agile elves. "Everyone be careful, I'll use magic to attack them." Her voice, though gentle, carried an undeniable firmness. Her heart was somewhat nervous, after all, facing such fierce beasts, none could remain completely calm. But she forced herself to stay calm, telling herself to be steady, for only then could she unleash her full power to fend off the beasts' assault.
The man also clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles whitening from the force, eyes revealing intense vigilance. "No matter how many beasts, we cannot back down." He silently cheered himself on, a surge of courage welling up from his heart. He knew he wasn't fighting alone, his comrades fought alongside him, together they must defeat these beasts and continue their arduous journey to find the Sword of Light.
An intense battle unfolded again. The small beasts charged towards them like a black whirlwind. Lin Yu wielded the tree branch, exerting all his strength to fend off the beasts lunging at him. Each collision between branch and beast emitted a dull sound. His arms ached from the impact, but he gritted his teeth, showing no intent to retreat.
Shen Jingqi moved like an agile leopard among the beasts. His dagger flashed like lightning, continuously stabbing at the beasts. With each strike, a beast fell, blood splattering on him, but he paid it no mind, continuing to swing his dagger, fighting the beasts to the death.
Li Baiyu's hands kept forming seals, blue lights shooting towards the beasts like raindrops. The beasts hit by the light let out painful howls, their bodies trembling before collapsing. But the number of beasts was overwhelming, with new ones quickly filling the void, continuing their assault.
The man fought the beasts in close combat with his fists. Each punch carried great force, sending nearby beasts flying. But the beasts' attacks grew fiercer, he gradually felt strain, sweat beading on his forehead.
Amid the intense battle, suddenly, the mysterious figure's body jerked, as if yanked by an invisible hand. His movements slowed, a pained expression crossing his face.
He spoke to Li Baiyu, "Miss." His voice was weak and trembling, as if coming from a distant place.
Shen Jingqi, busy battling a beast, glimpsed the mysterious figure's oddity from the corner of his eye. On closer look, he saw blue currents like snakes crawling on the figure's neck, the sizzling sound sending shivers down his spine.
A familiar feeling surged over Shen Jingqi, as if a key had unlocked the door to his memory. Memories from the hospital rushed back like a tide. It was a sinister night, in the hospital ward, he had seen a mysterious figure with similar electric currents on the neck. At the time he had thought it merely a bizarre patient, giving it little thought. But now, this memory overlapped with the current mysterious figure, a strong unease filling his heart.
"Uncle Li." He silently mouthed towards the mysterious figure, his voice tinged with doubt and shock. He did not know if Uncle Li was truly the mysterious figure, nor who he himself really was, why such a situation had occurred, or what the eerie currents on the neck represented.
The mysterious figure's body trembled more intensely, his hands fell helplessly, the golden light gradually faded. Suddenly, everyone felt an overwhelming pressure, the once suppressed little beasts seemed to receive a signal, growing more frenzied.
They no longer attacked blindly, but began encircling with organization. A group of small beasts flanked from the side, trying to cut off retreat; another launched a fierce frontal charge, lunging at everyone with bared fangs.
Lin Yu was surrounded by several beasts, the branch in their assault gradually losing hold. His heart filled with anxiety, sweat rolling down his forehead. "What do we do, at this rate we will all be trapped." he shouted inwardly.
Despite his valor, Shen Jingqi too felt gradually overwhelmed by the increasing beasts. His dagger slashed beast after beast, but new ones kept pouring in. "What is going on, why did these beasts suddenly become so clever." His heart brimmed with confusion and anger.
Li Baiyu's magic gradually lost effect too, blue lights striking ever fewer beasts. Her hands ached from incessantly forming seals, her heart growing ever more tense.
The man's punches too grew sluggish, his body scratched by beasts, staining his clothes with blood. Yet he gritted his teeth, persisting, with only one faith in his heart: "Don't give up, fight to the last."
As everyone faced their direst straits, the mysterious figure suddenly let out a pained roar. His body began swelling, skin reddening, as if powerful force surged within. The electric currents on his neck flashed more fiercely, as if about to tear his body apart.
