Multiversal Wanderer: Starting in Naruto-Chapter 65: A Long-Awaited Reunion
Chapter 65 - 65: A Long-Awaited Reunion
"Chi... Chisato?"
"It's me, Second Brother. It's been a long time."
The last time they parted, Tajima was still the head of the Uchiha clan. Now, neither Su Xiuyu nor Uzumaki Mito interrupted the emotional reunion between Chisato and her brothers.
They embraced for a long while before pulling apart, exchanging the ups and downs that had filled the years in their separation. Chisato story, though, was the simplest. After Su Xiuyu rescued her on the battlefield, she recovered in his world, then followed him and Mito to the Tokyo Ghoul universe for a time.
She was just unlucky enough to get caught in a spatial-time storm that threw her return journey out of sync. But seeing her brothers alive and well—after all this time—that was the greatest blessing she could ask for.
By now, the secret of Su Xiuyu not being native to the ninja world was exposed, but he didn't care. He had the strength to protect himself, and more importantly, trusted allies beside him.
"No wonder you were so clueless when we first met," Madara teased, slapping Xiuyu's shoulder. "I thought you were some spoiled noble who didn't know shit. Hiding your background from Izuna and me all this time... not cool, man."
Neither Madara nor Izuna asked how Su Xiuyu had a Sharingan. Back then, there had been no missing Uchiha clan members, and today's world had no bloodline transplant technology. It was obvious—Su Xiuyu must've been born with Uchiha blood, or more accurately, the blood of the Otsutsuki.
Eliminate the impossible, and the most absurd explanation left standing is usually the truth.
Su Xiuyu let out a sigh of relief. Faking ignorance for so long had been draining. Now, being able to speak honestly with Madara and the others felt like a massive weight lifted from his chest.
"But, Xiuyu... you came too late," Madara said, his voice growing heavy. "Senju Hashirama is dead. If you'd returned earlier, maybe you would've had a chance to meet him again."
Hashirama's death clearly hit Madara hard. He'd been Madara's rival since their youth, and his loss left a void. But at least Madara wasn't alone—Izuna was back, and now Su Xiuyu too. And the Uchiha clan, for once, stood united behind him.
Su Xiuyu wasn't too shaken by the news. This was the Naruto world. Death wasn't always permanent. Tobirama had likely already developed the Impure World Reincarnation. Resurrection wasn't just possible—it was damn near routine. Orochimaru, Kabuto, even Nagato had all bent life and death to their will.
"Hey, Xiuyu, what's with that look?" Madara asked, raising a brow at Su Xiuyu's suspicious expression.
"Madara... you didn't kill Hashirama, did you?" Xiuyu narrowed his eyes. "You wouldn't go that far... right?"
"What the hell? Of course not," Madara snapped, clearly insulted. "Why would I kill Hashirama?"
Su Xiuyu thought back. Right... in the original history, you two fought at the Valley of the End. You lost that fight but somehow lived, while Hashirama died young and you lived to old age.
"If you didn't kill him, then who could? With Hashirama's strength, there weren't many who could match him."
"Well," Madara began, "Hashirama and I fought Otsutsuki Kinshiki. It was two-on-one—we had him cornered. But Kinshiki used space-time ninjutsu to drag Hashirama into another dimension. Hashirama won, in the end... but he burned too much of his life force doing it."
That explanation finally made sense. Su Xiuyu had been wondering who in the ninja world could possibly take down Hashirama besides himself or Madara. An Otsutsuki... yeah, that checked out.
"If it was Kinshiki, there's still a chance he could come back," Xiuyu said thoughtfully. "They never really die. That clan's got resurrection built into their damn DNA."
He muttered quietly to himself. Now that he'd mastered the power of "contract," even he could come back from the dead—though reviving inside someone else's body wasn't exactly ideal. Fortunately, he had already prepared a spare body through the system's shop—fully cloned from his own DNA.
Madara didn't press him on it, and the conversation shifted to the state of the world.
"Other villages are gearing up for war," Madara said grimly. "The peace we had after Hashirama's rule is already cracking. A storm's coming. Do we act first?"
Su Xiuyu nodded, his tone firm. "We can't babysit these people forever. Let the next generation get their hands dirty. Isn't Tobirama the Hokage now? Let him clean up this mess. The Uchiha and Uzumaki can back him up, but if he can't handle something this small, then Konoha's future's screwed anyway."
"Agreed," Madara replied. "These little conflicts are meaningless in the grand scheme. We've got plenty of young talent now—it's time they leave the safety of the village and taste the chaos of the ninja world."
"I'll send Uchiha Fan and Uchiha Dan to lead. I heard they have a kid—Uchiha Kagami. Talented little guy."
Coming from Madara, that was high praise. Kagami's performance must've been exceptional.
The group spent the entire evening catching up, laughing, and talking. Mito and Chisato made tea and brought snacks, helping set the peaceful atmosphere. After so many years apart, this reunion was something precious.
By the next day, the news of Su Xiuyu's return quietly spread throughout Konoha. "Quietly" being the key word—because regular villagers had no clue. After all, Su Xiuyu and his group had been gone from the ninja world for over twenty years. To most people under a certain age, he was just a name from an old story.
But Konoha's upper brass knew exactly who he was.
At a time when the village had just lost Hashirama, Su Xiuyu's return was like a lightning bolt of reassurance.
That said, Konoha's leadership had gone through its own changes. Aside from the Uchiha, Senju, and Uzumaki clans, most of the older generation had stepped down or died. The new era was here—young, ambitious, and unaware of the legends before them.
Many had never seen the strength of the so-called "God of Shinobi," and believed their elders exaggerated the past. After all, what kind of ninja could change the landscape just by fighting?
It's hard to believe in things that defy your understanding—even for ninjas.
But with Su Xiuyu and Madara now standing openly in the village, any hidden ambitions or schemes quieted down fast.
And all that pressure? It shifted—right onto the other villages.

"Lord Raikage, according to intelligence from our spies, although the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, has passed away, his brother Tobirama Senju has succeeded him. More importantly, there are rumors that Uchiha Xiuyu has returned to Konoha."
"Uchiha Xiuyu?" The Raikage grunted. "Hmph. The so-called former God of Shinobi. Still, there's no denying that Konoha is currently the strongest power in the ninja world. We'd do well to establish a good relationship with them. Forming an alliance might be the right move."
"How about this—we'll prepare to propose an offensive and defensive alliance with Konoha. Have Kinkaku and Ginkaku attend the alliance meeting."
"Yes, Lord Raikage."
The current leader of the Hidden Cloud Village was the Second Raikage. The First Raikage had grown too old to manage the responsibilities, and a change in leadership was only natural.
Kinkaku and Ginkaku, elite jōnin of the Hidden Cloud Village, were well-known and respected figures. Having them represent the village at the upcoming meeting was a logical move. Before long, a formal invitation was sent from the Land of Lightning to the Land of Fire.
"An alliance with Konoha... The Hidden Cloud Village is making clever moves," Tobirama mused. "But it's not a bad thing for us either. This meeting will be a great chance to broaden Monkey's horizons and let the others see the world as well."
Tobirama had already come to terms with the loss of his elder brother. After all, Hashirama had entrusted Konoha to him.
Thanks to the previous collaboration between Uchiha Madara and Hashirama, Tobirama's view of the Uchiha clan had softened. He no longer believed they were inherently evil.
"Summon a few of my students and have them gather at the training ground."
"Yes, Lord Tobirama."
Soon after, they arrived at the designated training field.
"Sarutobi, Danzō, Kagami," Tobirama began, "I've summoned you because I'll be attending a peace negotiation meeting with the Hidden Cloud Village. You three will accompany me as guards. Use this chance to observe and learn. Go prepare yourselves tonight—we depart tomorrow morning."
"Except for Kagami, I accepted the rest of you later in my career. But the three of you are now my proudest disciples, so don't disappoint me. While this is a peace meeting, we cannot afford to let our guard down. The ninja world is in a delicate state right now."
"Yes, Lord Tobirama!"
"Alright then, go prepare. Dismissed!"
Tobirama, ever direct and efficient, ended the meeting with no wasted words.
The three disciples didn't leave immediately, choosing to linger and talk amongst themselves.
"This is our chance to prove ourselves!" Danzō declared with enthusiasm.
At this stage in his life, Danzō still had an open personality and a strong desire to shine.
"Calm down, Danzō," Sarutobi cautioned. "We still need to be cautious. Like Lord Tobirama said, things are unstable right now. Let's stay focused."
"I'm gonna head home and ask my dad to help me prep," Kagami said casually. "Just to be safe."
That single sentence shattered the casual mood. Sarutobi and Danzō stared at him, clearly annoyed.
"What?" Kagami blinked, confused. "Did I say something wrong?"
"Don't try to flex in front of us," Sarutobi grumbled. "We get it—your clan's loaded, the Uchiha are powerful, and the Uzumaki are tight with you guys. Stop rubbing it in."
"Yeah," Danzō added with a smirk. "Kagami, you always act so nonchalant, but it's hard not to wanna punch you sometimes."
Poor Kagami had no idea he'd been unknowingly flexing this whole time. Every time he learned a new technique, he'd casually mention, "Oh, I picked that up at home." If they talked about some rare jutsu, he'd shrug and say, "Yeah, I know about it. My dad was there." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
It was just like when Tobirama first took them on as students. The others had asked him what Uchiha Xiuyu, Uchiha Madara, and Hashirama were like. Sarutobi and Danzō had been spellbound. But Kagami? Totally silent.
They'd wondered why he didn't seem excited—until Tobirama gave them the answer:
"Oh, Kagami's father is Uchiha Dan, one of the Uchiha clan elders. He was involved in several of the major battles, including those between my brother and Madara. I even fought alongside him."
"And you know, promising young Uchiha are often taught directly by Madara himself. Kagami, I'm sure you've met him, right?"
"Yes, a few times," Kagami had answered honestly. "The clan leader's given us tips on jutsu and combat. I haven't met Lord Xiuyu yet, though."
That was when it hit Sarutobi and Danzō like a gut punch. They were the rising stars of the Sarutobi and Shimura clans, yet Kagami had been personally taught by the God of Shinobi himself! Meanwhile, they'd only caught glimpses of Hashirama—who was usually out gambling with Tsunade whenever he had free time.
Jealousy smoldered in both of them.
"Xiuyu returned to the village yesterday," Tobirama had told them before leaving. "If you want to meet him, this is your chance."
Despite their teasing, the three had a solid bond. Sarutobi wasn't the hypocrite he'd later become, and Danzō wasn't consumed by darkness. The Uchiha clan was thriving. After venting their envy, Sarutobi and Danzō dragged Kagami out for barbecue—at his expense, of course—before heading off for the night.
From the shadows, a clone of Tobirama observed the three.
"These kids... they really are the future of Konoha. Big brother, if you could see them now, I think you'd be proud."
The clone dispersed silently.
Later, Kagami returned to the Uchiha compound, feeling a warm sense of familiarity wash over him.
"Hey, Kagami's back!"
"Granny," Kagami greeted with a smile, "I'm home."
Inside his home, his parents had just finished dinner. When they saw him, they quickly invited him to eat.
"Father, Mother—I already ate with the others."
"Alright then," his father said. "But Kagami, go get ready. We're visiting Lord Xiuyu tonight."
As an Uchiha elder, Uchiha Dan had the right to personally visit Uchiha Xiuyu.
"Yes, Father," Kagami replied, eyes lighting up with excitement. Meeting Uchiha Xiuyu, alongside Madara, was a dream for any Uchiha.
"Don't be nervous," Dan said with a chuckle. "Lord Xiuyu is actually pretty easygoing. I've been on missions with him before. He's not hard to talk to at all."
"Really? What's he like?" Kagami asked eagerly.
"Well, appearance-wise, he looks about your age. Friendly, approachable... but he's the type to speak in riddles sometimes. Loves to hide his strength. He's got this unique ability too, but I can't tell you about it—it's a secret. If you're curious, just ask him yourself tonight."
"Don't worry," his mother added with a smile. "He has a good temper. As long as your questions are respectful, he won't mind. I used to think he was the cold, stoic type—but once you get to know him, you'll see he's nothing like that."
Their words only made Kagami more excited. After tonight, he would finally meet the legend he had only heard about—Uchiha Xiuyu.
