The Pharaoh and Egrith arrived at their palace only to be greeted by a towering inferno. Yet, within their hearts, a similar fire blazed. If their world was destined to end, they would fight to save it!

They were Tomb Raiders, seasoned from years of plundering tombs themselves. The highest-tier tombs—B-tier, even C-tier—always harbored civilizations of their own, thriving within the ancient walls.

And they had witnessed those civilizations crumble time and again.

It felt like fate, an inescapable inevitability. Anyone who entered a tomb with a civilization should brace themselves to watch it destroy itself.

But now, they stood on the other side of that collapse.

They couldn’t remain mere bystanders. They had to act. If this tomb were destroyed, they would perish the moment they stepped outside—Jean’s death, the Second Prince, had proven that much.

To the Pharaoh, it didn’t matter if his own existence was nothing more than an illusion. To him, it was the only reality he had ever known, from the moment of his birth. If he was a fabrication, he had no other path to follow. All he knew was that he refused to die.

And if…

If he had to die anyway, he vowed to take as many from the real world with him as possible.

They should join him in the end.

Thinking that, the Pharaoh roared and charged into the flaming castle.

Egrith wanted to follow immediately, but a movement hidden amidst the smoke caught his eye. He stopped in place.

"Are you the people here to destroy the world?" he asked solemnly. "Do you know that you are also a part of this Tomb’s mechanism, a fate? We are not real. Not me, not you."

He didn’t know the enemy’s abilities, but Egrith had a gut feeling that they must be strong. Otherwise, how could they destroy the world?

But if they were here to destroy this place, that meant they were not outsiders. If they were not outsiders, then they were people from this Tomb. And that meant they were not real beings either.

"We don’t have to fight my friend!" Egrith shouted. "There is nothing for you to gain by destroying this city—believe me, we should stand on the same side. We can’t leave this place, you must understand it! Whatever you are fighting for is not real!"

A growl escaped the rolling smoke from the fire.

Sett, Zainah, and Zarah watched the palace in fire. The heat in the air caused Zainah’s forehead to be matted with sweat, meanwhile her little sister and Sett had a more casual look about them.

After all, their bodies had a much higher melting point. They could handle this much heat with ease.

"Is it the Guardians of this Tomb attacking the palace?" Zainah asked.

Sett looked at the palace.

Zarah took in a deep breath. "If it’s the Guardians, isn’t this place ruined? Those things are supposedly Tier 5 creatures… Should we run?"

Zainah bit her nails. "Even if we run, there is no use, Zarah. Once the city is taken down, we will have nowhere else to go. The outside world is full of storms and monsters, and we will have nothing to eat in the long term. We will die if we lose the city."

Sett wrapped his hand around Zainah’s neck. "Well, isn’t that a decent analysis?"

She blushed. "Am I wrong?"

Sett shook his head, a deep gleam in his squinted golden eyes. "Not really, but this Tomb hasn’t revealed all its faces yet."

Sett suddenly wrapped his arm around her neck, a smirk playing on his lips. "That’s a solid analysis."

She blushed, flustered. "Am I wrong?"

Sett shook his head, his golden eyes gleaming. "Not really. But this tomb hasn’t played all its cards yet."

For one, Sett still had a strong feeling that the gods who had once mingled with the Ramses bloodline would arrive here. They hadn’t shown themselves yet. And when they did, everything could change.

After all, even their offspring possessed abilities known as Axioms.

Who knew what kind of power the gods themselves wielded?

Just the thought sent a thrill through Sett’s veins.

But as of now, I am too weak. If they come for me—if they try to take Zainah, Zarah, or our lives—I won’t be able to stop them.

Call him too cautious, but nobody ever died because they were too cautious.

Sett exhaled through his nose, noticing a guard rushing towards them from the flames.

"ARE YOU THE ENEMY?" The guard shouted as he rushed at Sett.

"No I am your father!"

A single punch and the head was destroyed.

Zarah closed her eyes. But she herself knew that she was much more desensitized than before to the sight of murder. Perhaps it was because she knew these people were not real, or perhaps she had just become accustomed to death after seeing Sett be so nonchalant about it.

Or perhaps, she was born for this world.

Sett waved the blood away from his palm.

"Zainah, tell me about the major figures in the city. Anyone who could actually fight me."

"Eh…?" Zainah blinked as his hand slid around her waist. "Key figures? The Pharaoh, his three sons—though one of them is dead. Then there are his Tier 2 subordinates… like the one just now." She hesitated, thinking back. "But… you fought Egrith to a standstill earlier. So…"

Sett smirked. "That means only three more Tier 3 beings remain in this city. At least, in the open. Only they pose a real threat to me. And only two of them remain."

Still, if he fought the Pharaoh head on, Sett had a strong feeling he would be dead within a few moves. After all, unlike Egrith who he could easily weaken by a lot using Death’s Call, he didn’t know much about the Pharaoh.

He couldn’t weaken him by too much.

Of course, that was already too good for a Tier 2.

Zainah nodded, thoughtful. "Yeah, there are only three people left who could fight you. Egrith was one of the strongest in the city."

"But big bro," Zarah tugged at his sleeve, her eyes shining with curiosity. "You’re getting stronger really fast. What’s your secret?"

Sett smirked, what a silly question. "I’m just awesome."

Zarah stuck out her tongue. "Arrogant."
