Musou Knight: Crow of Cinders-Chapter 41: This Musou Game World is Perfectly Balanced with No Exploit
Chapter 41 - This Musou Game World is Perfectly Balanced with No Exploit
"What are you doing?" Lenitia shouted at me. "Those are water pots! We don’t have many of these in our citadel!"
"Make more, then." I snickered.
Lia looked at the wet floor and sighed. "Who was going to clean the floor? You?"
As we talked, three seconds passed. A set of three dumplings manifested and floated in midair. Light shone from the items, attracting everybody’s attention.
"W-W-What is that?!" Lenitia jumped out of her seat.
Lia also looked as shocked as Lenitia. She reached toward the dumplings to touch them, but her hand phased through the objects.
"An illusion?"
I moved her hand away from the dumpling and grabbed them. Then, I passed one to Lia and explained.
"This is my specialty. Whenever I broke a vase, a jar, boxes, or crates, food appears. However, no one but me can touch it. No one can touch or eat the food without my permission.
I tore a dumpling in half and lifted it in front of Cow-Cow. The glutton inhaled the entire piece in seconds. I ate the other half and passed the last piece to Lenitia.
Lenitia received my food and inspected it. It didn’t take long for her to notice the hints.
"Isn’t this the same food you gave us that day? The magic food that healed Lia?"
"It sure is."
Lia’s eyes widened. "So, that was why your luggage was mostly vases and jars!" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
I was glad they caught on quickly.
"Yup."
"I see. That was why you were with the pottery artisan when we first met." Lenitia pondered and sat at the table once more. She fell silent afterward.
Since there was dead air, I asked them for permission.
"Can I break the rest? Sometimes, I get wine, which can replenish our musou energy."
"YOU CAN CREATE WINE?!"
Lia grabbed my shoulders, shaking them. My head rocked back and forth because of her brute strength, forcing Cow-Cow to leave my head and rest on Lenitia’s table.
How did I subdue her last night? Did she pretend to lose?
"YOU CAN MAKE WINE?! HURRY AND MAKE THEM!"
This harlot wasn’t even paying attention to the effects of the wine. Also, don’t talk in caps, woman.
I warned her.
"I can’t control it, but I can tell when it might come out. The object has to be something precious, like a fine ceramic vase, large jar, or luxurious container."
"Oh! Then, try it!"
She finally released me.
After regaining my freedom, I walked toward one of the water jars and empty wooden boxes. I lifted the empty box, and like a magician, I revealed its emptiness to the audience. Next, I slammed it on the floor. It broke into pieces, scattering splinters around. Some grazed my face and arms.
After three seconds of waiting, a small jar of wine manifested. I grabbed it and passed it to Lia.
The harlot snatched it from my hand. Rude.
Lia unsealed its cover and sniffed it. Her nostrils expanded, resembling those of a pig. She stared at the thick juice within and lifted the jar, chugging it down.
Okay, that was street-harlot behavior. You shouldn’t hog drinks by yourself. Look at your poor princess.
I snatched the wine jar back before she could drink everything. Then, I passed it to Lenitia.
Lenitia stared at the wine and inspected the container instead of drinking it. She passed it back.
"How did it appear? Is this a parlor trick?"
"That wasn’t a trick. I can do it again."
"Show me. Destroy everything over there. How many are there? Five, right? I expect five more floating items."
I smirked and walked back to the water jars and empty boxes. Like a madman, I lifted a jar and smashed it against the other objects.
Without a proper weapon, it took a while to break everything. It felt good destroying stuff, but the cleanup would be a nightmare. The water spilled out of the jars and onto the stone floor. Water soaked the remnants of shattered boxes, along with scattered wood chips and splinters.
In exchange for the mess I made, five beacons of light shone upon five sets of food. One set of turkey and wine, one set of steak and wine, two sets of three dumplings, and one dumpling appeared.
Lenitia approached the food and tried to grab it, but her hands passed through the objects. Lia also retried, but she couldn’t touch anything. I handed them the food again, and they managed to touch it.
"I see. I get it now. Then, can you abuse this power? Can you destroy this jar in my hand? Can you break it and create more food, like unlimited food?"
Lia grinned as she drank the remaining wine from the first jar. She waved it around. However, as nothing was inside the container anymore, the jar faded away.
I laughed at her. "Nope, never tried that, and I don’t think it will work."
If that loophole had been exploitable, I would have left them and lived in isolation in the woods. No need to get involved with these harlots.
Lenitia passed a full wine jar back to me. "Try it."
Since this was a good experiment, I borrowed Lia’s sword and smacked it. I doubted it would work, though.
The jar remained intact. However, the sword broke in half.
"Huh?"
Everybody, including me, exclaimed in unison. Lia checked her sword and inspected the wine jar. A second later, she threw it to the floor.
It did not break.
This inspired me. Instead of spawning food items infinitely, I might have been able to use this as a shield or a weapon. As I pondered, I recalled the time when I was running away from Zoli.
I had a wine jar with me, but it endured my musou attacks several times. I accidentally left it behind because Zoli kicked my ass. Or rather, I might have tipped it over, and the wine leaked out. Then, the jar disappeared.
Whatever the case, I had a new tactic in my arsenal. For now, I continued my explanation.
"I have tested them before. All food doesn’t decay, and they remained warm forever. But after I consumed the food, its plates and containers always disappeared. I was certain that we couldn’t destroy these items no matter how hard we tried."
"How about musou attacks?" Lia asked.
"Been there, done that, not working."
"Was your attack too weak? You are level 2."
I clicked my tongue and picked up a turkey’s plate, leaving the food on the table. Sauces and side vegetables stained the wooden furniture.
"Then, try breaking this plate yourself."
Lia smirked and took it from my hand. She then threw it on the floor.
The plate hit the ground and bounced up, creating a loud noise. The plate rolled to the wall and fell flat.
Lia paused for a moment, staring at the item in disbelief. She strode toward the plate and stomped it.
It shattered, but Lia also yelped in pain. She rubbed her sole and complained.
"That was NOT a plate. That was a cursed metal!"
The object was breakable, but it took a lot of effort. I was curious about the object’s limitations.
But for now, Lia had proved that my theory was wrong. It was possible to break the spawned objects, but I had to be strong enough.
