My Aloof Husband Can't Stop His Devoted Affection-Chapter 80 - 0: Slightly Cool
Chapter 80: 080: Slightly Cool
Hearing his self-righteous tone, Cen Jin didn’t even bother rolling her eyes at him. She just tossed the car keys given to her by the substitute driver into his hand, grabbed her bag, and pushed open the car door to get out. She walked around from the back of the car to his door, opened it, and asked, "Why don’t you rest in the car a bit? Come out when you feel better?"
"Do you think I’ll feel better?" Jiang Baizhou looked at her, stretched his long legs, and asked from the depths of his soul.
Cen Jin was speechless, watching his long legs with no place to put them. She couldn’t help but think that sometimes those long legs could be quite a hassle! freeweɓnovel~cѳm
With Cen Jin’s support, Jiang Baizhou’s feet touched the ground. Due to numbness, he was unsteady at first. When he was about to fall forward, Cen Jin instinctively put her arm around his waist, barely holding him up, while he naturally draped his arm over her shoulder.
Looking at the petite figure in his embrace, Jiang Baizhou’s eyes filled with a trace of amusement, letting her drag him towards their villa.
"Am I heavy?" As they approached the door, Jiang Baizhou glanced at her small face and asked nonchalantly.
"What do you think? Can’t you walk straight by yourself?" Cen Jin wanted to retort, and gave him a dramatic eye roll.
Jiang Baizhou chuckled softly, using a bit more strength himself, making it easier for Cen Jin. But hearing that teasing laughter beside her ear, she had a feeling he was making fun of her. She found his behavior of gaining an advantage while playing innocent to be utterly shameless.
"You’re still laughing?" Cen Jin stopped on the last step and glared at him from the corner of her eye.
How tall is he, and how heavy, doesn’t he know?
Jiang Baizhou silently withdrew his gaze, without responding.
With little annoyance in her heart, Cen Jin helped him up the three steps to the front door of the villa. Before she could press the doorbell, the door swung open, and Miss Yu Hui greeted them with a smile. Yet seeing Jiang Baizhou’s state, her smile gradually faded, as it demonstrated what ’the smile disappears.’ She immediately reached out to help Cen Jin get Jiang Baizhou inside. "What’s going on? Did he drink?"
Cen Jin first greeted her and then answered her question, nodding, "Yes."
"How much did he drink?"
"I don’t know. But when I came across him, they’d already finished." The two spoke as they headed upstairs, one questioning, the other answering.
"I’ve never seen him drink before!" Miss Yu Hui looked at him with full suspicion. Finally, when she caught him peeking at Cen Jin’s profile with tranquil eyes, she couldn’t help herself and slapped Jiang Baizhou on the back. "You silly boy, what were you drinking for out of the blue, and let Cen Jin suffer carrying you all the way? It’s exhausting for her alone!"
Jiang Baizhou: "..."
Jiang Baizhou gasped from the slap and furrowed his brow but still didn’t say a word.
After they arrived in the room, without waiting for Jiang Baizhou to sit, Miss Yu Hui, seeing he could stand, let go of him and said to Cen Jin, "Cen Jin, I’ll go downstairs and get him a cup of warm water to soothe his stomach. He’s had too much to drink; his stomach must be uncomfortable."
"Okay." Cen Jin nodded in agreement. As Miss Yu Hui left, she intended to help him onto the bed to lie down.
At this moment, though Jiang Baizhou’s mind was clear, he required Cen Jin’s guidance for every step. When they reached the bed, Cen Jin removed his arm from her shoulder and, as she straightened up, accidentally stumbled on the corner of the bed. Suddenly, her silky hair flew up, and she tilted forward, falling onto Jiang Baizhou, who had just settled on the bed, with her soft lips gently brushing against his in a slight chill.
