My Antique Mirror Is A Portal To Another World-Chapter 677: Regroup
Coming back to her senses, Kui Lu hurriedly turned around, only to see Bai Hanyun’s figure disappearing into the darkness.
Hugging the water pouch and the warm steamed buns, her eyes turned red.
After leaving the troublesome group, Bai Hanyun walked for another twenty minutes before stopping. She scanned the area for a moment, then took out the armored car after making sure no one was around.
Taking off the veiled hat, she got into the car and let out a sigh of relief.
"Huff... It’s so troublesome dealing with people. If Feng Xiyan is here, I don’t need to deal with this kind of trouble."
Leaning on the seat, she let out a long, tired sigh and muttered, "I really miss him..."
While reminiscing about her leisurely life in Xiqiang City, Bai Hanyun fastened her seatbelt and checked the GPS app on her phone.
Seeing that the army had traveled more than twenty kilometers in an hour, she clicked her tongue and muttered, "They walk so fast. I need to catch up before morning."
With that, she pressed the accelerator and drove toward the Feng Army’s direction, leaving only drifting dust behind.
Bai Hanyun drove at high speed for more than two hours before she spotted the army in the distance.
Slowing down, she stopped the car more than one hundred meters away from the last soldier in the formation. Getting out of the armored car, she put on her veiled hat, then stored the vehicle in her spatial ring.
After making sure the veiled hat was properly in place, Bai Hanyun took out a bicycle and chased after the army.
A few minutes later, the soldiers at the rear of the formation heard a sound from behind.
Turning around, they saw a woman in a soft blue dress and a veiled hat, approaching while riding on a strange "beast."
While the other soldiers stared at Bai Hanyun vigilantly, one of the soldiers from the kitchen team recognized her dress. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
Tilting his head slightly, he asked doubtfully, "Wait... that dress looks familiar. I remember seeing Miss Bai wear it before."
As soon as he said this, the other kitchen soldiers realized he was right.
"Brother, you are right. I also saw Miss Bai wear an identical dress before."
Hearing this, the captain in charge of escorting the supplies asked, "Are you sure that woman is Miss Bai?"
Before the others could answer, Bai Hanyun stopped in front of them. Lifting her veil, she smiled and asked, "Brothers, I’m looking for Feng Xiyan. Do you know where he is?"
Seeing that familiar smiling face, the captain and the soldiers hurriedly clasped their fists and bowed.
"This subordinate greets Miss Bai."
Afraid that their powerful voices would alert the people of the Jin Empire, Bai Hanyun quickly raised her index finger to her lips. "Shhh! Keep your voices down."
Hearing this, the soldiers exchanged confused glances before nodding at her.
Bai Hanyun scanned the surroundings and, seeing no one from the Jin Empire nearby, let out a sigh of relief.
Looking at the captain and the soldiers, she explained, "I’m undercover right now. We can’t let those people from the Jin Empire know about my presence."
Understanding that she was part of their plan, everyone present responded in low voices, "This subordinate accepts the order."
Now that she had explained, Bai Hanyun repeated her question, "Where is Feng Xiyan?"
The captain pointed toward the middle of the formation and answered, "The Great General is in the center of the formation. Have you seen that iron cage, Miss Bai?"
Bai Hanyun followed his finger and saw a familiar iron cage in the distance. "Yes."
"The Great General is inside that iron cage," the captain added.
Bai Hanyun observed its position for a moment, then noticed the horse-drawn carriages not far from it.
"Who is inside those carriages?" she asked curiously.
Looking at the horse-drawn carriages, the captain replied, "The Second Prince, the Seventh Princess, and the Imperial Teacher of the Jin Empire."
Hearing this, Bai Hanyun clicked her tongue and muttered, "It’s not convenient for me to find Feng Xiyan with those people around."
Noticing her troubled expression, the captain thought for a moment before saying, "Miss Bai, how about this subordinate relay your message to the Great General?"
Seeing that she was still thinking, he added, "If it’s not convenient, you can wait until we rest for the night. It shouldn’t be long before General Wu orders us to set up camp."
Bai Hanyun glanced at the smartwatch on her wrist, checked the time, and nodded. "Then I will talk to him later. Thank you for letting me know."
"This is what this subordinate should do." The captain replied politely.
Smiling at him and the other soldiers, Bai Hanyun asked, "Can I travel with you today?"
Hearing this, the captain and the soldiers’ expressions brightened.
Clasping their fists, they bowed and said excitedly, "It’s our honor to travel with you, Miss Bai."
Pleased by their response, Bai Hanyun glanced at the army ahead. Seeing that they had fallen behind, she said, "We should hurry and catch up with the others."
"Alright."
While the soldiers continued on their way, Bai Hanyun put away her bicycle and walked beside the captain.
Seeing that she was wearing a dress and almost tripped, the captain signaled to the soldiers with his eyes.
Understanding his intent, they quickly cleared the supplies placed on a wooden cart, cleaned it up, and then pushed it toward Bai Hanyun.
Stopping the wooden cart in front of Bai Hanyun, one of the soldiers said, "Miss Bai, please get on the cart. We may need to travel for another sichen before we rest. It’s inconvenient for you to travel in a dress."
The muddy road was not easy to walk on, so Bai Hanyun did not refuse their kindness.
"Thank you." She smiled and climbed onto the cart with the captain’s help.
After she sat down properly, the captain ordered, "Let’s go."
