My Auto Cloning System-Chapter 97: frosty mist
Chapter 97: frosty mist
He decided to gamble on the pain. He took a deep, rattling breath, circulating his spirit essence in the complex [Nine Breaths Circles] pattern. (Haaaaaa-Huuuuuu!) Suddenly, his spirit essence felt twice as thick and twice as hot as before. The Black Fire Seed in his gut roared to life, fighting against the external frost with a burning, and internal fury. The pain was sharp. like being burned by fire and frozen by ice at the same moment. but it gave him the explosive energy he needed to move.
"Too slow, frozen prune! You need more than some ice cubes to stop me!" Yin Zhe yelled, with his voice echoing loudly inside the silent array.
[Cursed Reactive points +1] (Lin Xue)
[Annoyed Reactive points +1] (Enforcer Wu)
He quickly dashed forward, while ignoring the rising ice pillars. Then He used his [Muay Thai Warrior] muscle memory to keep his center of gravity low and stable on the slippery, and treacherous floor. Yin Zhe then swung the Roaring Tiger in a massive, and horizontal cleave. (VRRRRUM!) The sheer physical weight of the 12th-grade sword, while combined with the power of [Iron Might], created a physical shockwave of air that shattered the nearest ice pillars into sparkling dust.
Lin Xue gasped and retreated, her feet was light and quick on the ice she had created. "How can you still move like that? The temperature in this array is far below freezing!"
"I have a very warm heart and a very thick skin!" Yin Zhe grinned, though his face was turning a ghostly shade of pale from the effort.
He lunged forward, while aiming a powerful thrust at her left shoulder. Lin Xue parried with the Whispering Snow Sword at the very last second. (CLANG!) The two blades met, and the sound was like a massive tuning fork being struck. The impact instantly sent a violent vibration through both of them. Lin Xue felt the terrifying, and raw physical strength of Yin Zhe’s arm, while Yin Zhe felt a fresh surge of frost try to climb up his sword and freeze his hands to the hilt.
On the high elders’ balcony, Elder Xuan Yi leaned forward, with his dark eye bags twitching with curiosity. "That boy... his spirit essence is highly efficient. He isn’t wasting a single drop of power. But somehow his energy and life-force seems to be endless." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
Elder Chen Niao stroked his long silver moustache, his silver eyes sparkling with interest. "It’s not just the energy, Xuan Yi. Look at his sword techniques. And He’s using a very strange, and very advanced circulation technique. It’s making his body hyper-sensitive to the flow of the air. He’s anticipating her frost attacks before they even fully form in the physical world."
Inside the arena, the fight was reaching a fever pitch. Lin Xue realized that her basic frost manipulation wasn’t enough to stop Yin Zhe’s suicidal momentum. She stepped back, her sword glowing with a brilliant, and blinding blue light that illuminated the entire array.
"You want a monologue, Yin Zhe? Here is your ending," she said, with her voice dropping to a chilling whisper. "Secret Art: The Weeping Blizzard!"
She began to spin her sword in a very complex, and beautiful pattern that looked like a dance. Suddenly, the wind inside the arena began to howl with a mournful sound. (WHOOOOOO!) The falling snowflakes turned into a swirling vortex of jagged ice and blinding wind. And Visibility dropped to nearly zero. Yin Zhe couldn’t see his own hands in front of his face, let alone his opponent.
"Oh, great. A blizzard. Just what I needed for my skin routine," Yin Zhe thought sarcastically, though his heart was hammering against his ribs like a trapped bird. He felt the wind-driven ice cutting through his [Jade Skin], and leaving tiny red nicks on his cheeks and forehead.
He activated [Divine Perception] to its absolute limit, ignoring the immernce headache forming behind his eyes. In the black-and-white world of his mind, he saw a blur of white heat moving rapidly around him. Lin Xue was using the cold wind to skate around the arena at incredible, supernatural speeds.
[Watched Reactive points +1] (Lin Xue is looking for an opening)
Suddenly, a cold blade emerged from the white mist directly behind him. (SHICK!)
Yin Zhe twisted his torso, but the sword caught him in the shoulder. (Slash!) He felt the ice-cold blade bite deep into his muscle. Thanks to his [Primordial Life-force], the wound didn’t bleed much, but the frost immediately tried to numb his entire left side.
"I’m everywhere in this storm, Yin Zhe! You’re just a trapped animal in a cage of ice!" Lin Xue’s voice came from the left, then from the right, and then it seemed to drop from above.
Yin Zhe stood in the center of the howling wind, his blood staining the white snow at his feet. He gripped the Roaring Tiger with both hands, his knuckles were white. He knew he couldn’t keep this up. The cold was winning. His [Jade Skin] was starting to crack under the pressure of the absolute zero temperature.
Yin Zhe stood there, his eyes narrowing as he spotted a faint heat signature through the mist with his perception. "She thinks she’s the hunter. But she’s forgotten one thing. Tigers don’t hide from the snow. They hunt in it. They thrive in the cold."
He lowered his sword, while letting the heavy tip drag in the ice with a grating sound. Then He closed his eyes, while relying entirely on his [Divine Perception] and the deep-seated muscle memory of [Muay Thai Warrior]. He waited for the next strike. He waited for the exact moment the "Weeping Blizzard" would try to claim his life.
The wind grew louder and even more violent. (WREEEE!) The ice shards became larger and sharper, they were spinning like saw blades. Lin Xue appeared from the mist directly in front of him, with her sword pointed at his throat, her eyes were filled with cold, and certain victory.
"Die, peasant!" she screamed.
Yin Zhe’s eyes instantly snapped open, his eyes were glowing with a fierce light. He didn’t block. Neither did he run away. He took a massive step forward, entering the "kill zone" on purpose. The crowd outside saw the two figures blur together in the center of the white storm on the giant screens.
The two blades collided with a sound that shook the entire arena array to its core. (KABOOM!) 🍷
