Chapter 163: Her Dress

(Arata)

Disappointment washed over me when Asbela said that Karsten had already left for the office. We emerged from the bathroom after Asbela helped me with a warm bath.

Why didn’t he wait for me?

She assisted me with my morning rituals and urged me to have breakfast, placing the tray in front of me.

Seeing me make no effort to eat, she asked with a teasing tone. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

"What’s wrong? Missing Master, already?"

I flashed her a smile, but inside, my heart hurt.

Picking up my phone, I checked if he had left me any messages.

To my glee, he had.

Promptly, I opened the messages and clicked on his.

{Arata! I had to leave early. There were urgent matters which needed my attention. I didn’t want to disturb you. You were too tired and needed rest. Join me when you are well rested. Hopefully, I will have your costume prepared by then.}

Warmth tingled my stomach at his words, so that was the reason he didn’t take me along. He wanted me to rest after that orgasm he had given me.

Seeing a smile erupt on my face, Asbela nudged the tray forward towards me.

"Eat now, or Master will be cross. Both of you didn’t even eat dinner last night."

Yeah! We were busy eating each other out. I thought to myself and couldn’t help but feel a tender warmth settle in my belly.

Picking up a sandwich, I began to nibble on it, with my mind completely occupied by Karsten.

After breakfast, Caysir took me to the office. I texted Miranda and she informed me that she would be waiting for me in the parking lot.

As we arrived, I stepped out and Miranda rushed towards me.

"Good morning, how are you, Arata?" She offered me a tight hug.

"All well. How about you?" I asked with a gentle smile.

"Can’t be better. Let’s go, Halima is expecting you." She crossed her arm with mine and began to guide me forward.

The elevator made me anxious so I said to Miranda.

"I will join you in the practice hall, I want to use the stairs. You can go ahead."

Miranda calmly shook her head.

"I know and that’s why I called the infantry." The elevator dinged open and Chan appeared with his bright smile and shining eyes.

"Arata, how are you?" He jovially asked.

"Never better, but guys, I don’t want you people to get tired because of me." I pressed my lips together, feeling guilty.

"You kidding? I have come with so much gossip. The elevator can’t begin to cover it," Chan haughtily added.

"Precisely! Come, we have so much to tell you." Miranda took my arm and we headed towards the stairs.

"So we heard Amanda threw quite a tantrum after her accident. The rumour has it that the girl was seen crying and shouting. She insisted there was no way her heel could just break like that," Chan enthusiastically began to spill the juicy bits.

"She insists she only wears premier heels and pays a fortune for her shoes." Miranda bent her first two fingers and thumb for dramatic effect and added. "In summary, she bragged she is rich and the breaking of her heel was no accident."

My mouth flew open with this news. Placing my hand in front, I said while continuing to climb the stairs.

"Ohh! Is she insisting she was implicated? How ridiculous."

"Exactly, anything to stay relevant." Chan shook his head while his feet moved up the stairs.

"She is losing her shit, learning you were chosen in her place. More tantrums, I feel bad for Halima," Miranda sympathised.

"I dare her to go to Karsten. He will put her right into her place," I snickered. I had no sympathy for drama queens. What was she expecting? That company should hire her with a twisted ankle?

"She never will." Chan shook his head.

"But we know you are the perfect replacement. We can’t wait to see you and Mr Karsten walking the ramp together. Both of you are going to be the talk of the town." Miranda turned towards me and rubbed her hands, halting between two stairs.

"Yes! We are coming to watch the dress. The whole building was buzzing with the gossip of how Mr Karsten designed it himself and worked extra time to ensure it was ready." Chan turned around and winked at me.

Heat pumped in my cheeks and I couldn’t hide the smile.

"I will do my best guys."

Talking and joking, the three of us arrived outside the practice hall, a little out of breath. That were a lot of stairs we had climbed. Throwing open the door we entered backstage. Some of the models were getting the final touches to their makeup, and others were donning their costumes.

Every eye turned to watch me.

Some with appreciation.

And a few with envy and jealousy.

Halima was giving orders. Her head turned and she found me. The rigid expression she held melted away to reveal a rare smile.

"Arata, here you are." She rushed to grab my arm. "Your costume is here and it’s incredible. Let’s put it on you and see how it goes." Whisking me away. Chan and Miranda waved at me and the latter whispered.

"We will be waiting in the front hall to see your walk."

I heartily nodded and let Halima take me to a changing room.

She opened the door and pointed towards the mannequin on which the dress I was to wear for the Winter Gala had been displayed.

Stunned, I was silenced into quietness by the sheer beauty of the gown he had created for me.

A blend of navy blue and crimson red blended into each other to create a galaxy-like effect at the flare of the dress. A sweetheart neckline fitted with a bodice adorned with silver and red gemstones, star-shaped motifs and an intricate display of beads.

Red sleeves were off the shoulder and constructed from a floating sheer cloth. Silver chains hung from them.

The skirt was voluminous and floor-length, with layers of sheer fabric that sparkled like stardust. The hem transitioned into a lighter, shimmering blue with a snowy, magical appearance to match our Winter Gala theme.

A belt constructed completely from expensive gemstones held the skirt and bodice together.

The gown was heavily decorated with glittering accents and cascading silver chains, creating a starry night sky effect.

"It’s sooo beautiful," I almost screamed out, rushing to the gown and touching it. The fabric was soft under my touch.

"You are going to look like a princess of a snowy castle in this. Let’s put this on you." Halima clicked her fingers together to call on two helpers to help me ease into this masterpiece.

I couldn’t wait for Karsten to see me in this. But where was he?

Carefully they helped me put on this regal gown.

The fabric sat snugly against my body, and I appeared like royalty in it.

A lost princess.

We walked out backstage so I could familiarise myself by walking in it.

As soon as I walked out on the runway my heart stopped.

Karsten was standing there, watching me with such a hungry gaze that my cheeks burnt.
