My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 324: The Baby Didn’t Follow The Schedule
Chapter 324: The Baby Didn’t Follow The Schedule
(Arata)
I had hardly left the bathroom to head down and have breakfast with Mom when I felt this wetness between my legs. The watery liquid spilt out, pooling on my bedroom floor.
I knew what that meant, the doctor had informed me and given details on what I needed to do when that happened.
But I panicked and stared down at the mess I had made for a while, holding my pregnant belly. "Oh! Baby..."
And then I shouted again, "Mom! Mom!" Standing very still as if afraid of finding out what would happen if I moved.
Afraid that my baby will pop out and fall down on the floor. Although I knew that contractions were to follow before that could happen, still, somehow, a fear clutched at my heart.
My hyperactive brain projected so many wrong scenarios that I had to jerk my head.
Hearing my horror-filled shouts, Mom rushed inside. The fear clung to each and every feature of hers.
"What’s wrong?" She asked, bewildered, seeing me just stand there holding my belly. She rushed forward, her terrified eyes travelled down to the floor and her tensed body instantly relaxed.
"Your water broke." Gently, her hand rested on my back. "It’s fine, Arata. It means contractions are going to start soon and you are going to have your baby."
My frightened eyes swept towards her. I held onto my mother for dear life, afraid to move. "But...but we still had time. The doctor gave the time for next week."
Mom reassuringly smiled, guiding me back towards the bathroom so she could help me change into another loose dress.
"Babies don’t follow the schedule. They come when they want and yours has decided to come today." She gently explained. Helping me remove my dress. "And there is nothing to worry about, we have time to get to the hospital because it will take an hour or two at least for contractions to start."
She proceeded to discard it in the washing chute and procured a new one from my closet.
My mind drifted to Karsten. From the phone call earlier, I knew this was a serious matter he had to attend to today, and I didn’t want to disturb him until the contractions started.
I thought I had plenty of time, and he would be there when it was time to deliver the baby.
But, it turned out I was wrong.
We left the bathroom after I had showered and changed, and the contractions had already begun. Mom grabbed the emergency baby bag we had prepared.
By the time we were heading out the contractions became faster, the pain in my pelvis and back was like a sharp sting.
I called my doctor and she told me she would be there.
"Mom, I think the time between contractions is decreasing fast."
Unlike me, Mom remained calm. "Come, we will call Karsten, his family and your father from the car."
Caysir was ready by the time we arrived outside. The pain in my back was increasing by the second.
"We need to get to the hospital fast," I instructed Caysir while holding my belly.
Just like my Mom he remained calm. Perks of being a married man, he knew how to handle such a situation.
"Don’t worry, we will get there in no time."
We entered the car and Mom strapped me in.
Another pang went zinging through my body, starting from my abdomen.
My hand clutched my Mom’s tightly as she called Baba and Camilla.
I could feel my uterus tightening and my back aching like the extreme period pains I experienced, but the intensity was much much larger.
The sweat broke out on my temple, my legs shook as I tried to breathe through the pain.
I had practised the breathing exercises numerous times. But doing that without pain and with pain were two very different experiences.
"Mom! Call Karsten... I need him."
She nodded at me and instantly dialled him.
Only a minute passed and another pang of pain came. I knew at that moment I didn’t have much time left, the baby was coming fast.
I tried to hold my scream in but it tore out of me.
Caysir instantly sped up the car while Mom placed her phone to my ear.
"Arata!" Karsten’s worried voice came through and I fought the pain. "I am coming, hold on."
"Be quick," I groaned, my voice breaking.
"On my way..." he desperately said before the call ended.
"Deep breaths, Arata." Mom guided me, holding my hand tight and remaining calm for both of us, because I was panicking.
Thankfully, we arrived outside the hospital, and instantly, I was taken out and wheeled in by the waiting staff.
My doctor, Alvia Hanes was there and she took over from Mom, taking me to the delivery room.
"Arata! So tell me how spaced your contractions are and what’s their intensity?" She asked while checking my vitals. I informed her of their intensity while she bent down to observe the cervical dilation. frёewebnoѵēl.com
"Soon it’s going to be dilated enough and you will have to start pushing."
A nurse brought the stupid white hospital gown for me to change into. They stood me up and helped me remove my dress, putting on the gown. My legs wobbled from the excruciating pain.
I stared down at my bulging tummy and couldn’t even see my feet.
"Hang on, let your father get here." I slowly caressed the tummy while another pang of pain hit, making a tiny distressing scream pull out of me.
Soon they had me on my back with my legs spread. The fluids were given orally, and no pain meds were given. I had asked them to keep the procedure as natural as possible since these meds and IV fluids could have side effects for the baby and I wanted to avoid that.
Heartbeats and blood pressure monitors were hooked to me so Dr Alvia could keep track of my vitals.
My eyes wavered to the door as I asked, "Has my husband arrived? I need him here."
Dr Alvia had a nurse check and she shook her head. "Not yet, but I have informed the desk staff, and as soon as he gets here, he will be sent in."
The pain that passed through me was blinding as if someone had crushed my pelvic bones with a boulder.
The scream I tried to stifle tore through me without a warning and Dr Alvia’s voice came.
"It’s time to start pushing, Arata."
