My CEO Ex: Let Me Go.-Chapter 96
Alexander’s POV
I recognized the car immediately—one of the Jaguars from my garage.
I grabbed my coat and walked over.
Through the windshield, I saw Vivienne leaning back in her seat, arms crossed, watching me with a casual smile.
I circled the front of the car, opened the passenger door, and slid in. "How long have you been here? Why didn’t you call me?"
Vivienne started the engine. "Not long. There were people throwing themselves at you earlier. How could you have noticed me?"
As she parked, I saw Olivia stumble right into his arms. She’d been so caught up in the drama unfolding that calling me hadn’t even crossed her mind.
I quickly clarified, "I was just helping her up."
That night, Olivia had been precise in everything she did—but in the end, she couldn’t keep it together.
Earlier, in the elevator, I’d noticed Olivia trying to make a move she never finished.
I didn’t believe she had actually twisted her ankle.
It seemed, just as Vivienne had said, Olivia had feelings for me.
"Why didn’t you take her to the hospital? Take her there first, then home. Who knows? You might end up with a nice surprise."
I glanced over at Vivienne and lowered my window, letting the wind rush in. "There’s already a surprise."
"Hmm?"
"You’ll find out when we get home."
Vivienne’s POV
While I was in the shower, Alexander walked in wearing nothing but a bathrobe. His face was flushed, his voice rough, and his breathing uneven.
It didn’t take long for me to understand what he meant by a "pleasant surprise."
As soon as we got in the car, Alexander had noticed something was off with his body.
By the time we reached home, his whole body was burning with a restless heat, radiating from deep inside him. His throat felt parched as well.
He’d been drugged.
Alexander hadn’t expected Olivia to do this. Amid his anger, there was a subtle, almost imperceptible satisfaction. This would be the perfect chance to ease the tension between us.
I was still holding back a bit.
I backed myself into the corner of the room, forcing a smile, and suggested, "Why don’t you take a cold shower? Last time, you..."
"It’s cold outside now. If I take a cold shower, I might catch a cold."
Alexander moved toward me slowly, his gaze intense, flames flickering in his eyes, cutting me off mid-sentence.
"Maybe you should go to the hospital..."
"It’s too late for that."
"Don’t do this... mmm..."
I was silenced by his kiss.
Alexander pulled me close, his large hand at the back of my neck, deepening the kiss.
In the heat of the moment, there was tenderness to it.
His hand, which had been resting on my waist, slid lower, cupping my soft curves.
Then, he took my hand and guided it toward the hem of his bathrobe.
Alexander’s breath filled my senses, hot and heavy.
The kiss was wet and scorching.
I could barely catch my breath.
My other hand gripped his bathrobe, but somehow, I accidentally tugged on the sash.
The robe fell to the ground, quickly soaking from the water.
The sound of the shower echoed through the bathroom. His labored breathing mixed with my soft moans.
In that small space, the air was thick with tension.
I braced myself against the wall, moving in rhythm, my eyes dazed, my face flushed, my lips slightly parted.
Alexander’s hand rested on my slim waist while the other reached around to touch me, slurring, "Has it grown here again?"
At that moment, I regretted not locking the door while I was in the shower.
The thought barely crossed my mind before I was pulled back into the whirlpool of desire.
Eventually, the sound of the water stopped.
Alexander, still in his bathrobe, scooped me up and laid me on the bed, starting a new round of passion.
On the large bed, our bodies tangled.
The room was filled with intimate sounds.
Even the moon seemed too shy to show itself, hiding behind the clouds.
In the morning, I woke to find myself nestled against Alexander’s strong chest, marked with noticeable scratch marks.
There were several small love bites on his neck, positioned so cleverly that they would remain hidden under a shirt.
This was my guilty pleasure—always had been.
I had thought I wouldn’t fall like this again.
But after being so close to him, I couldn’t help but slip back into that sweet torment.
I shifted slightly, feeling the ache in my body.
Thinking back to last night, I couldn’t help but smile at the corner of my lips.
He had been a little stubborn, saying he would be done soon, but he never stopped. By the end, my consciousness had started to blur.
Actually, ever since his business trip in July, we hadn’t been this intimate.
It had been a long time.
His skills were impressive, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching him.
"Awake already? What are you thinking so early? Your face is all red," Alexander teased, leaning in with his handsome features.
I quickly shook my head. "Nothing. Why aren’t you up yet?"
Based on his usual routine, he should have been out running by now.
"I’m skipping the morning jog today."
A moment later, Alexander suddenly spoke. "Now I finally understand why there’s that saying."
"What saying?" I asked casually.
"’A woman’s tenderness is a man’s tomb.’"
"..."
Alexander wrapped his arm around my waist, his gaze softening. "Should we get up now, or sleep a bit more?"
"Let’s sleep a little longer," I said. "I’m still tired."
Last night, we had stayed up too late and barely slept.
We snuggled together for a quick nap, waking up promptly at 7.
After breakfast, we headed to the office together.
It felt like we had returned to our old rhythm.
At the elevator, as we parted ways, Alexander held my hand and kissed my lips.
I quickly pushed him away, worried someone might see.
The employees, still uneasy, reported to CEO Hawthorne after arriving at work and suddenly realized something had changed. CEO Hawthorne was no longer the cold, explosive boss they were used to. Instead, he had become the elegant and gentle CEO Hawthorne they were more familiar with. It was a huge relief.
Some sharp-eyed people immediately noticed something unusual about Alexander’s neck.
I was in the restroom when I overheard two colleagues talking in one of the stalls.
One said, "Hey, did you see CEO Hawthorne today?"
"I did. Why?" 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂
"Didn’t you notice?"
"Notice what?"
"You didn’t see it? It’s so obvious."
"What’s going on?"
"Let me tell you, there are two hickeys on CEO Hawthorne’s neck, right on his shirt. You can see them when he turns his head."
"Really?"
"Go check it out for yourself. Ugh, I’m so jealous. I wonder who caught the eye of such a handsome CEO Hawthorne. Actually, I’ve seen them on his neck before. The marks were about the same. CEO Hawthorne probably has a regular bedmate."
"Not surprising. What if it’s bad news? What if CEO Hawthorne isn’t any good?"
"No! Don’t say that! Anyone could be bad, but CEO Hawthorne can’t be! I’ve heard— the taller the nose, the bigger it is."
"CEO Hawthorne’s nose is definitely superior."
Soon, the hickeys on Alexander’s neck became the talk of the office. Everyone knew about them, and most people speculated that it was either Miss Isabella or a regular bedmate.
Only Vivienne’s assistant had a different guess. He thought it might be something between CEO Hawthorne and Vivienne.
Because today, the atmosphere between CEO Hawthorne and Director Vivienne was completely different from the other day.
That day, it had been tense, but today, there was an unmistakable, almost sticky air of flirtation between them.
