My Charity System made me too OP-Chapter 81: More Undeads VII
The auctioneer, sensing the climax nearing, raised her voice. "230 million! This is your chance to claim a treasure that could reshape your destiny. Do I hear more?"
The room held its breath, waiting to see who would make the next move.
The tension in the auction house was palpable. Every eye was locked on the glowing screen displaying the current bid.
"240 million," came Loki’s smooth, mocking voice from VIP Room 6. His tone was light, almost playful, as if he were toying with the others. "Come on now, surely the rest of you aren’t done yet?"
Hades’ chuckle echoed through VIP Room 3. "245 million," he said, his tone laced with amusement. "A little shadow trickster like you shouldn’t play with the big leagues, Loki."
The jab was subtle but clear. Loki smirked from his room, his golden eyes sparkling with mischief as he leaned back.
Lady Mira in VIP Room 7 didn’t even flinch. "250 million," she declared coolly, her voice steady and unwavering. For her, this was no longer about money—it was about power and the opportunity the Elixir could provide to solidify her position as a rising force.
In VIP Room 8, Nira frowned. Her sister’s determination was admirable, but this was getting dangerously expensive. Still, she knew she couldn’t let Mira face the challenge alone. "260 million," she called, her voice deep and commanding.
Gandarf from VIP Room 9 grumbled under his breath. "These young ones don’t know the value of coin," he muttered before raising his bid. "270 million."
His tone was resolute, his mind racing with thoughts of what he could accomplish if he won the Elixir. To him, it was a strategic investment, one that could elevate his craft to unprecedented heights.
The auctioneer beamed as she called out the new number. "270 million! A historic moment for our auction house! Do I hear more?"
Leon, still lounging comfortably in VIP Room 10, glanced at the maid. "What’s your bet? Who’s folding first?" Your next chapter is on novelbuddy
The maid hesitated, her cheeks slightly flushed at being addressed so casually. "I… I believe Lady Mira might push the hardest, but Master Hades is egotistical. He might go further just to prove a point."
Leon chuckled. "Sounds about right. Let’s see how far their pride takes them."
Hades leaned forward slightly, his eyes gleaming with challenge. "280 million," he said, his voice calm yet filled with authority.
Loki clapped his hands mockingly from VIP Room 6. "Impressive! But let’s make it more fun. 285 million."
Lady Mira raised her hand almost immediately. "290 million."
Her cold demeanor showed no signs of faltering, and the determination in her eyes was enough to silence the whispers in the crowd.
In VIP Room 8, Nira sighed heavily. "300 million."
The hall erupted into gasps and murmurs. Crossing the 300-million mark was unthinkable for most, but Nira’s bid showed she wasn’t about to back down.
Gandarf gritted his teeth. He was wealthy, but this was pushing his limits. "305 million," he said, his deep voice filled with resolve.
The auctioneer, almost breathless with excitement, called out, "305 million! This is a monumental moment! Do I hear higher?"
Leon smirked, watching the drama unfold. "And here I thought this auction would be boring," he murmured.
The maid couldn’t help but smile. "You underestimate the desire for power, Master Leon."
"For it, wars are fought every day," she said as Leon nodded thoughtfully.

"What do you think, Master Leon? Could you win a war if one day it came knocking on your door?" she asked, looking at him curiously.
Leon shrugged. "It’s not hard when you know their weaknesses. Pride, ambition, and greed are all easy to exploit."
"Yes, but not everyone has those traits—or they’d have long been eliminated. Here, you find them because this is just the starting floor," she replied.
Leon nodded in agreement. "I know. The reason they even climb is their greed for power and fame. It doesn’t diminish; it just reaches a point where they need something better than what they already have or believe they can obtain."
The maid looked at him with admiration. "You are quite wise," she said.
Leon smiled faintly. ’Well, my class having Sage Words isn’t just for show,’ he thought inwardly before refocusing on the auction.
As the bids climbed higher, the tension in the room reached a boiling point. Would someone finally fold, or would the price of the Elixir soar even further?
But soon, the competition quieted down. Only Lady Mira continued to bid, with Nira supporting her whenever someone outbid her. The price had already reached a staggering 650 million gold coins.
"It seems we can’t beat those two witches," Sir Mayers muttered coldly. Hades, seated beside him, no longer looked calm. His limit was 600 million, but Mira had directly added another 50 million, outbidding him.
Most others had stopped bidding after the price reached the 400-million mark. Now, only Mira and Nira remained, with Mira taking the lead.
"650 million going once! Twice! Thrice!" the auctioneer shouted with excitement.
"And we have a winner: Lady Mira!" she declared as the Elixir was carefully packed and secured for delivery.
Sensing the excitement in the room, the auctioneer decided to seize the moment. "Since we have so many esteemed guests present, how about offering something you’d like to auction on the spot?" she suggested alluringly as some guests were preparing to leave.
"This is a good opportunity—not one to waste," Mira mumbled to herself. She decided to stay, intrigued by what might come next.
Seeing the lights in Mira’s VIP Room still on, Nira also chose to remain seated.
Leon leaned back, observing the tension in the auction house grow more palpable with each passing moment. He decided to stay, curious about what might come next.
"It’s boring. How about we each offer up a skill instead?" Loki suggested from VIP Room 6, breaking the silence. His voice carried a mischievous undertone.
The auctioneer clapped her hands together. "Great idea! Let it be a Skill Auction!" she announced enthusiastically, receiving nods of approval from the guests.
But Loki wasn’t finished. "No, no! Not just any skill, but Class-related skills," he added, further stirring the excitement.
Leon smirked. "Rather than that, I think Unique Skills are better. After all, who wouldn’t already use the class skills they naturally obtain for themselves?" His voice carried an air of authority, drawing attention to his room.
The auction house fell silent, everyone intrigued by the boy who had just spoken. They all suspected the one auctioning the Elixir of Night was in one of the VIP rooms, but none had imagined it was someone so young.
Loki chuckled, raising an eyebrow. "I thought it would be an old man at the end of his life auctioning the Elixir. But you’ve just started your climb. Why would you give up such a treasure?"
Leon’s voice was calm but firm. "My class alignment is Holy."
A wave of understanding swept through the room. For others, the Elixir of Night was a blessing, but for someone with a Holy alignment, it was nothing short of poison.
"What a pity," Loki mused aloud. "This Elixir is undoubtedly an S-rank reward, yet it doesn’t match your level."
Inwardly, Loki’s thoughts churned. You fool. If you’d consumed it, your Holy class could have evolved into an Unholy class—a rare dual alignment with both Holy and Devil attributes. Clearly, you’re not from a big clan, or you would’ve known this simple fact. He shook his head, dismissing the thought.
"You’re right about unique skills," Loki conceded. "But let’s have both: class skills and unique skills. That way, there’s more variety."
Leon nodded in agreement.
"So, who’s going first?" Loki asked, his voice challenging. Seeing no immediate response, he smirked and said, "Let’s simply start from VIP Room 1."
In VIP Room 1, Layla leaned back with a sly smile. "Alright," she said. "I’ll start. I’ll put forth an Epic-ranked skill: Frost Barrage."
Her words caused a magical book to materialize, floating from her room into the auctioneer’s hands.
Layla’s voice echoed confidently. "And I will only accept skills in exchange," she added, her tone leaving no room for negotiation.
"I offer Skeleton Armor of Epic rank in exchange," Hades said from VIP Room 2, his cold voice cutting through the room.
The auctioneer held both skills in her hands, excitement clear in her tone. "We now have an offer! Frost Barrage for Skeleton Armor! Does anyone else wish to propose a trade or counteroffer?"
The tension in the auction house grew heavier as Leon’s calm voice rang out from VIP Room 10.
"I have Volcanic Burst," he said confidently.
Layla’s voice from VIP Room 1 quickly followed. "And the rank?"
Leon smirked. "Of course, it’s Epic rank."
A brief silence filled the room before Layla responded. "Deal."
The auctioneer clapped her hands in excitement, her voice brimming with energy. "A successful exchange! Frost Barrage from VIP Room 1 has been traded for Volcanic Burst from VIP Room 10!"
The crowd murmured in awe. While this was a skill auction, the fact that Epic-ranked skills were already being traded so early was impressive.
